I tried the door and to my surprise it was unlocked and Stacy was already inside working to get the office ready for the day. I had my baby in my hip and she immediately offered to help despite the fact that they weren't yet open saving me an extra trip out to the Westminster post office. She even called me an hour later to follow up and let me know she had verified the postage on the scale and mailed out my envelopes! I will definitely be going to this office for all my future post office needs!

I have had the need to visit the Gettysburg Post Office on at least a half dozen occasions and have consistently found each employee to be helpful, accommodating, and courteous. I've encountered a small line of waiting customers on most occasions, however the line moves quickly. Never had I heard an employee whine or exhibit an "postal" ( ?) mannerisms or behaviour. The parking lot is adequately sized, however drive cautiously I've noted departing customers in reverse oblivious to their surroundings with no situational awareness. I've never had an issue with the Gettysburg Post Office and rate them a 5. Remember that the cost of postage is not their fault!

Bad, oh so bad…read more I'm embarrassed for this outfit. Multiple complaints here, one overweight female clerk told a customer, "yeah, I'm mean. I like being mean". That same clerk on a different visit handled a package for me. She stamped it, I wanted to take a photo of it, she snatched it out of my hand screaming "no it's against post office regulations to photograph". I waited in line an hour, 14 people in front of me. Line unbelievably slow. 3 people couldn't wait any longer and left, unassisted. Postal employees wandering in and out of front area never to be seen again. I think they need a medical team in here to see if employees are still alive. I waited, waited some more and finally it's my turn to buy a money order. Young Asian clerk flatly told me "I can't help you". A manager was summoned. I'm not waiting in line for 1 hour plus to be told I can't help you. The manager asked "why won't you help her". "Well", said clerk, "I'll help her only if she has cash or exact change or a credit card". I had cash. I had exact change. I want to buy a money order. I'm not sure why this office is so singularly challenged, but it all stands back to management. I'm embarrassed for you and happy that I discovered Walmart has money orders, less expensive and less than 2 minutes of service I have the money order and was out the door. Avoid this location. No wonder their rating is so low. They have earned and live up to every poor review they have.

I spoke with a staff member who was Asian, I'm sorry I didn't get his name but he was so helpful in answering my questions and explaining the process. I was impressed and appreciative. I went back today with my documents and a young lady named Shawnte assisted me. OMG, she was so pleasant and helpful, she patiently took care of my documents and gave clear instructions, at the same time assisted other customers just as efficiently and friendly as she did me. It is refreshing to receive this type of service AGAIN! I have gone to several USPS locations in Rockville, Bethesda, Kensington, College Park and now Beltsville. I have to say the service and tone of this Beltsville location is superior than the others. I say it's refreshing because in today's world the type of service we receive is horrible. It's absolutely horrible to call any business for assistance and receive appropriate service. We're lucky to get a person on the phone and one who can actually resolve the issue.
