We have never had any issues with our past mail carrier on our route until this year. All of our packages take days to be delivered even if they are out for delivery. They mark them as undeliverable due to our road having snow packed and some ice AKA Maine winters. Even after we sanded our road they don't even attempt to deliver. We were told that the driver is ""new"" and an older gentleman that gets nervous driving in the snow.. umm then maybe he needs a new position like a desk or sorting job that doesn't require him to drive. We have never had any issues for over 20 years with the mail not being delivered ( unless there was a huge snowstorm or ice. We only have to sand our dirt road once or twice a year) it's going to be a very long winter for them with every person on our road calling every day and having to go get our mail in person read more

While the building itself is an impressive structure, giving an air of the solidity and stalwart nature of the New England people, the employees of this post office display an arrogance and sense of entitlement that poisons the public's notion of what a government employee should and could be. For whatever reason, this post office almost appears as if they believe that they are above reproach, that they are not here to assist the public and perform a valuable function, but rather to treat the general public with disdain. There are many incredible employees within the United States Postal Service, unfortunately this particular post office, arrogance and blatant rudeness is endemic at this particular post office. I have to give this place one star because that is the lowest rating that I could give and I implore this post office to embrace customer service and understand that they are here to perform a viable service. read more

As I had not received any mail in 6 days, and could see on the USPS.com site that I had 10 pieces of mail, I repeatedly tried to contact this post office by phone. As a handi-capped person it is hard for me to go into this place and yes, it has a ramp, but walking is difficult. They WILL NOT answer their phone. We are your customers and we need help. The Sanford ME post office is absolutely terrible. They are grumpy/rude, don't answer their phone, deliver mail to the wrong address, and say packages were delivered that weren't. If I had the option I would use another but unfortunately they service my zip code. I'm only giving them 1 star so I can post this. in all actuality they should all be fired and the facility shut down!! read more

Impossible to speak to someone. I haven't received any mail in 4 days when I usually get mail almost every day. I want to know what is going on. I had a bill that needed to be mailed. It sat in my mailbox for 2 days! The 3rd day someone took it for me and dropped it off. Unexceptable. I want answers! read more

Don't trust the Sanford, Maine U.S. Postal Service with your mail and packages. They have mishandled my mail and packages for as long as I have lived in Sanford. For example, today I went there to track down 2 packages. One package was placed in the wrong mailbox and they can't find it. The second package was sent back after one delivery attempt. They suggested I drive up and down New Dam Rd. (a road I dont' live on) to ask people if they received my package. I will not knock on people's doors that I don't know. I do not trust the U.S. Postal Service with my mail or packages. Thank God these packages did not contain prescription medication! There were other people in line with the same problem. They have a bag of excuses but no resolution to the problem. It's time to privatize the postal service! read more

I am a paraplegic living in Sanford Maine. When we had our first snow storm being that I can't get up and shovel myself it takes a little time for me to get someone here to do it a mailman who in the past has brought my mail rate up my ramp to my door which is covered by an awning during the snowstorm he must have taken it personal that the front wasn't shoveled so my curtain was open I watched him drop my mail at the beginning of my ramp on the ground and walk away basically left my mail in my driveway I'm trying to get a hold of the post office to ask them if I could put a mailbox by my side door up my handicap ramp so the mail is easier to retrieve but I can't get through to anybody and honestly I don't think they would care I'm going to find a way to put a lawsuit on the post office for treating me this way read more

There's so much incompetence here that it's hard to know where to start....for the past three years any time I am scheduled to receive a delivery on Sunday I am always issued an email that says my driveway is unaccessible, code for, we didn't feel like delivering packages so we just didn't. Twice I have been expecting medication to arrive and had to go without it due to this. Today, like many other times I have a package valued at over 200$ that has been "delivered" according to the tracking number, however there is nothing at my house. You can't get ahold of an actual human being on the phone, every time I go inside the building before COVID and post COVID the people treat me very rudely and it seems to be a huge inconvenience for them to sell me a book of normal forever stamps or mail a package. I'm so disappointed in the service I have been driving all the way to Rochester so I'm treated like a normal human being. What happened to the days when the local post office actually cared about its clients and was kind? Good thing my tax dollars are going to these absolutely incompetent people.
