Why bother even speaking to them? Nothing will be fixed. Have been receiving mail from someone who does not live at my address. I called and spoke with them multiple times explaining this. I even asked to speak with the postmaster. I was assured I would stop receiving the person's mail. I receive that person's mail roughly once a week still. I shudder any time I have to go to this post office, because the employees are SO RUDE. No matter what you're there for they will be nasty and condescending to you. I will usually drive out of my way to a post office in the next town because of it. Unfortunately if I have to pickup a package I still need to go to this den of evil monsters. Post Office. A little known tidbit is that I sell a lot of my old stuff on Amazon so on most days of the week I have something in my car that requires shipping. That being said, I tend to grab a Post Office when I see one and this was no exception. As Post Offices go, this one was sort of shiny and brightly lit, unlike many of the older post offices on the north shore of Long Island. There was a bit of a line too but the 3 peeps working there kept the line moving at a good clip. The one lady I had even did some serious sales shtick trying to upsell me a few items - good for her. I mailed 3 bills on December 19 at 10am. I brought them to the Ronkonkoma Post Office and put them in the out of town slot in the lobby. None of these bills reached their destinations (all on Long Island). By December 27, I went to the post Office to enquirer about the lost mail. I was met with derision, annoyance and hostility by the employees I spoke to. I did not raise my voice, get angry or become disrespectful. I was told that there was nothing they could do. I asked if someone could check the bin where the mail went in through the slot and I was told no. I was always a supporter of the post office, but now I will pay all my bills on line. Never again. I now have to pay late fees. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I live in an apartment complex, and this post office constantly leaves my packages either outside on the front step, or by the front door. I wathced the postman leave my package outside on the front step of the building, and walk away. Then he came back, and said that his hands were full so he couldn't put the package inside. He constantly leaves my packages by the front door, instead of directly in front of my door, and they get stolen all the time. read more

I have been going to this post office since I was a kid. I remember always seeing Alma when I would go in! She has always been so great that back in the day of B.Y. (before Yelp) I wrote a letter to the post master about how great her attitude was & how helpful she always is! That was the early 90's! She is still there! Lucky for you fellow Ronkonkoma cats, you get a stellar postal service employee! Alma is the best post worker on staff! She's just fantastic, courteous and the most professional of all the front workers! She is always smiling and willing to help she really makes the visit pleasant. I dropped off a package on July 7th to go by retail ground to OH. The cost was $28 which by the way is more expensive than UPS and I received notification yesterday that the package only made it to Jersey City, NJ yesterday (53 miles which I could have walked faster). It now has another 620 miles to go. At this rate that would make it take another 175 days. Wow, how is that for service no wonder the USPS is going down in a ball of flames read more

Horrid!!! Absolutely horrid. I grew up in Ronkonkoma and have my business here. My postman is beyond lazy! Twice he has returned packages destined to our office because he is too lazy to carry them. He also repeatedly asks my employees to put mail in the box in front of the office complex so he doesn't have to carry it. This morning he had a package for me that was sent back to the post office because he didn't recognize my name. The company name, suite number and address were all correct. I called to post office twice today to see when he was due to return back to pick up my package. Needless to say they told me he never left the building with the package, he just sent it back before he loaded his truck in the morning. read more

I just moved to the area a year ago...My family have all been mail carriers and this place is a disgrace. My mail is constantly missing or my mail is delivered to someone else's house, along with my whole neighborhood. I called and complained multiple times. It seemed things got better for my house only since the supervisor is going through my mail before its delivered (since its hard to look at an envelope and read a house address). I come in the post office to mail EXPENSIVE wedding invitations and asked nicely for it to be hand stamped, as I went to another post office to advise me to tell whoever is doing the mail to hand stamp it since there are embellishments on it. I did not go to that post office to get it done, although I should have and went to my nearby post office (RONKONKOMA) that told me they will hand stamp it. I found out they were NEVER hand stamped with ruined wedding invitations. Now, i send my Maid of Honor her invitation who lives on my block and she never received it. Once again, this mail carrier lost it. I call the post office and the woman was very nasty and told me theres nothing she can do. It really is sad that having a family of postal workers, they laugh at how ridiculous this post office is and are disgusted!! I guess I will need to get a PO box since it is okay for this post office to lose someone's important documents over and over and do nothing about it.
