Each time the caller becomes more defensive and aggressive. I do not believe it is ethical to contact people they have found on LinkedIn at their current jobs (on my company's actual phone line). They repeatedly tell me that "their sources" gave them this number. I had already assumed, but it was confirmed today by yet another "recruiter" (3rd time being called at my place of work in 6 months)that their "source" is LinkedIn. No professional, reputable business would ever use this practice. This behavior is unacceptable and could result in someone being terminated from their job. This feels like harassment.

They are excellent at understanding the position requirements and presenting their candidates in a way that places you at the forefront in the interview process. I've had great offers arrive and multiple job offers simultaneously in which to choose. I've accepted two dream job positions in regional business development through their efforts. A1 to work with on all levels. I see someone posted negatively about being contacted at work by their staff. All that you have to do is kindly decline the call or offer another way to be contacted away from the office for confidentiality. If you don't want to be contacted, simply write a formal email to Karen or note on your LinkedIn to not be contacted for job openings. Amazing how something simple can become such a point of negativity for some folks. Problem solve is the answer and your current employer will appreciate you learning that skill also.
