I was on my way up Michigans west side coast on my way to Petosky and came accross this Big Rock…read morePoint scenic park. As I pulled in I realized just how picturesque all the views of Lake Michigans shoreline is ( Breathtaking ). They're is parking spots for 8 cars and then extra parking along the rocks down by the picnic tables and benches. I loved the old style functioning water pump. The water from the well was Ice cold and tasted so good. I noticed 5 charcoal grills as well. nice touch I thought. The bathrooms were kept clean as well. The park has lots of trash cans and the area is well kept. Fresh are from the trees and the breeze from Lake Michigan makes this place something special and I look forward to coming back. Give Big Rock Point a look and you'll be glad you did.

I was there at the very end of September and they had just started to turn. Peak was going to be in about two weeks however people told me had we waited until peak it would've been bumper-to-bumper. Traffic flowed nicely and it was just a beautiful. Highlights were Legs Inn, a few coffee shops that had some random farmers markets and just the beauty of the trees! I would definitely do this again it didn't matter what time of the year it is!

It's part of a route that runs along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan around Harbor Springs and it's super calm, has a rural/rustic vibe, and is just generally a really nice drive. It's also in the vicinity of the Good Hart General Store, so if you head this way you'll get a chance to stop there and check out their goods as well. Check it out if you're in the area or passing through. It's worth it!

When entering, it looks like just a very nice library entry, and then you see the real beauty behind it. The library is a pristinely renovated school built in 1927. The renovation is absolute perfection. You have to actually visit and see it to get the feeling that goes with it. It has multiple wings, artwork, children's sections, auditory and visual sections, complete with many different things for them to do aside from read. The interactive aspect of this library is Outstanding. They have computer systems for people to work with, lounge areas, specialty book areas, even the bathrooms are done in beautiful ways for each section! They have devices that you can rent for training, and so much more. It is truly an emotional experience to go in, look at the history, and see all of the beautiful touches that have Been made for the public. We spoke with a lovely woman, Mary Ann Chew, who is on the board, and also helped create all of the beautiful things. You will see when entering the library. From the architecture, the art work, to the availability of materials and even a room dedicated to book sales, you will NOT be disappointed!

The staff is awesome, the woodwork on the floor, ceiling and bookshelves is gorgeous and they seem to be giving away books a lot or selling them for very cheap. The library is right off of Main Street and has been in this location over the pharmacy since the late 1800s. While visiting libraries isn't something we do often, there is something cool about visiting them even if you are from out of town. If you want to slow down your day hop in here and grab a book and enjoy the nice seating area they have with windows galore to take in the beautiful day in Harbor Springs.
