They don't answer the phone. The phone rang for several minutes and then I was disconnected.read more

*** THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL POST OFFICE IN THIS AREA*** What…read moreI dont understand when it became okay to have a personal conversation via cell phone with "your girl' while you have a line of customers WAITING to get things mailed out, and not only WAITING but literally waiting on simple things because you are too busy having a conversation with your friend. This lady then hangs up and carries personal conversation with the lady who was about to leave for the day (because according to her, the gov'met is keeping her at work way over her shift... AT LEAST YOU'RE WORKING) An older man walks up, he needs a stamp on the letter hes about to mail. He brings up the letter, hands it to her "Hi there how are ya?" He kindly asks. "Sir, please step behind the yellow line" No hi. No how are you.. she continues her convo with her coworker. "Sir your unprepared. You dont have a stamp on this." She says. "Yes, ma'm I was going to tell you I needed a stamp." "I got chu this time but next time come prepared because sometimes we dont have them." She quickly replies. Tells him the total, he pays. It's now my sister's turn. My sister, who needs to mail out a text book to school, walks up and asks, "Hi there, I needed to mail this book out but I'm unsure of which one to use. They also gave me this (the shipping label) so do I just tape it to this?" The ONLY thing I will give this post office lady is the fact that my sister should have known what packaging and ONLY because I had already told my sister, but she wanted to make sure. This lady said after laughing, "well you can use one of those back there (she barely points to where) and honey, this is a FedEx lable" and pushes it all back to my sister. Nowhere on this label did it say FedEx so I'm sorry ma'm how are we supposed to know? My sister goes to the car to wait for me. My turn: "Hi, I'm just mailing these." I made sure I stepped back behind the line. I didnt have stamps for my two envelopes and I knew my third one, being it was going to Austraila I knew would give me an issue with her. Uh oh (I shouldn't be feeling like this...) She looks at everything I give her and then says, "AUSTRALIA?! This going there? Honey you need to fill out a customs card. You sure this is going there?!" "Yes mam. That's where its going to..." "Dang, well ok... fill this out... shaded areas only." I happily do what I'm told. Not so bad, at least she didn't yell at me. I fill out the shaded areas only and sign. I wait back in line. This lady is ruthless. I work in the service industry and I can't believe the way she would talk to the people before me. They wouldn't even do anything WRONG and she was still belligerent. It wasnt until her coworker left that she calmed down. How they have a job and some of us don't, I dont understand. I get back up in front of her and she gets upset at the fact that I didnt fill out two small parts that weren't in the shaded area. So I told her, "I'm sorry you told to specifically fill out the shaded areas only..." "Well now you gotta fill out these.." the exasperation in all of us customers was overwhelming. I dont get why any of us had to have a butt reaming from this lady. We're not children to be scolded. As a server, I will say that even with my most annoying customers, I bite my tongue because at the end of the day, it's my job to provide good service as a representative of not only my company but as myself. Dont like what you're doing and cant wait for your "vacation' on Saturday (as she kept telling her coworker) then just go already. I dont leave my house right now to run into the likes of unpleasant personalities. If you hate your job, quit.
