Most of my mail has arrived safely and intact but, over the course of two months, I have had two…read moreletter-sized packages never arrive, one arrive butchered (they included it in a plastic slip saying "We Care" and apologized), and a big package arrive bashed in. Quality control for the Columbia Post Office appears to be on the downward slope.

I got there a 5PM, and the doors were shut. They claim they were told yesterday about the new hours, and now me and other customers were not able to use their services because they randomly changed their hours. You keep increasing your stamp price, and your services keep decreasing!

But the clerks are invariably pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. I've seems them with difficult or confused patrons and they are so patient and explain things over and over until people understand. We are very lucky to have these people.

In one year, I have had mail sent to my neighbors, and I have received theirs. Most recently, they did not pick up my outgoing mail for two days. Now two days later, the package I shipped has not been entered into the tracking system. Now I am going to have to issue a refund. No problem there, it's not the customers fault the USPS cannot perform. My problem is the lack of accountability. No one is responsible. Mail gets picked up, or it doesn't. Packages get entered or they don't. There is no consistency. What was once a prideful example of America doing it's best, has turned into a circus sideshow. You cannot and should not trust the USPS to do the right thing.
