I know USPS has some issues...ok, A LOT of issues and I give folks a significant amount of grace and courtesy.
But today, no no no. Nick, please consult a manager and consider taking some time off and come back when you're willing to address these significant issues with your supervisor.
I noticed after a couple of weeks I wasn't getting my mail to my box. I have had non stop issues with 1. Getting other people's mail in my box (despite reporting it several times, there's a GIANT sticker in my box with my last name...filling out forms twice that say (my last name) ONLY delivered here. 2. Packages disappearing despite being marked as delivered (only to be found days later down the street at an entirely different building, on the same street but literally a block or two down...)...3. Now this issue of NO MAIL getting delivered.
Because of the previous issue I had FINALLY gotten a direct lane for a guy named Dave who has been helpful in the past, but most often when I call doesn't pick up and the voicemail box is "full" which I'm told by three people including Dave himself is intentional bc he would never be able to return all the voicemails he gets.
So after noticing I wasn't getting any mail, I call Dave on repeat until he picks up. Turns out the "outgoing mail" slot had been broken for some time which means me and none of my neighbors were getting their mail and NO ONE notified us. Nothing on the box to say "hey you can pick up your mail here" which is what I've been told three times now is *supposed* to happen and hasn't. I was then told the entire box would have to be changed and we would all be getting new keys.
It's been weeks now and I've come to pick up my mail today and this Nick guy tells me he "thinks" it got fixed and he "assumes" that means our mail will be delivered to us. I ask him again if he can be sure because this has happened multiple times now that I've had to come down when something mysterious goes awry with our shared mailbox and he throws his hands up and goes "what do you want me to do?" Uh, well, for starters, have a definitive answer about where my mail is, whether or not the box is ACTUALLY fixed and notify your supervisor that none of my neighbors knew either that their mail was available for pickup at this location.
I tried calling the USPS customer service line before coming in and literally every directory option I chose led me to being hung up on *including* the Fraud line for federal investigations. Literally. It just hangs up. I informed this guy of that and he says "that can't be true"...excuse me?? How and why would I just make up a story like that??
This entire experience is ludicrous and he clearly needs some more education and training. When I asked who is above him who might have an answer, he says Dave. I said ok well Dave doesn't know either, who can I talk to them? Well a supervisor. Ok well who is your supervisor? We have three. Ok dude well who is one of them? And he refused to give me a direct answer other than they aren't here and they're in Portland.
Shake my head dude. Cmon. I'm looking for solutions and answers and you are literally standing in my way. Go take a break and come back when you're willing to do your job. read more
