When looking at the audits conducted at the Mandan post office, I think to myself that in any private business, some people may not have a job. I live in apt complex with cluster type mailboxes and additional larger boxes for packages. When attempting to retrieve package from larger box, the key broke off inside lock which I had reported to the mail man at least twice before key broke off, I just assumed it was post office responsibility until I looked into responsibility of cluster box repairs etc Package containing car parts arrived June 1, I contacted post office by phone 1st, nobody would answer phone, I went to location that following Monday and reported issue with postal clerk, they took down the information, I waited several more days and I tried calling again, but phone rang and rang, I went to post office and reported again, clerk took directly to post master, I waited a few more days and they sent postmaster to discuss with me, I asked how much longer to get box open, she stated possibly another week but could not give me any type of time frame, I asked if I could drill out the 4 rivots holding lock in place, they stated no. After waiting a few more days I think a neighbor drilled out 2 of the rivots but stopped for some reason. The maintenance person for post office showed up 10 days after delivery date and I was contacted and said the mailman would leave package in working box, but than received a notice we had to pick up package. When we did postmaster notified us she had filed complaint with police for tampering with mailbox I went home and researched the subject and found the rules state. The cluster box must have a emblem or USPS logo in the cluster box giving post office sole control of mailbox repair, but my mailbox clusters or any other in my neighborhood have the emblem or logo which states in that case the apt complex maintenance staff etc are responsible for repairs. I know my apt mgt company if shown would not have had a problem with drilling 2 rivots in order to remove lock ,and another 4 for the door hinge to remove door as well as the 2nd lock still had key broken off and was latched. The postmaster weaponized the local police department. Now at 74 years old have my 2st infraction of any kind. Vandlisim. I constantly get the worst service from this location! I order online a lot and I have to go thru my estate office to pick up mail. The keys to the parcel boxes never work, or I never even receive the key to get my own packages! And if you try to get help, forget it. The customer service is the WORST! read more

Key to my lock box didn't work. Tried calling for 2 hours on and off no one answered. Went to post office and they switched out my key. That one isn't working either. They gave me a number to call if I had issues and that isn't working either. So frustrated I just want my package. read more
