Overall, it is very centered around the Episcopal Church that still sits there. This is not the most exciting historic site in the area, however it is still a good place to check out. The mansion was constructed in 1884 and was not originally built for the governors of North Dakota, but rather as a private resident. The mansion was the North Dakota governors' residence from 1893 to 1960, which is pretty sweet! They are very open to photography, so snap away! The mansion gets decorated for different seasons and holidays, which I can't wait to come back for the holiday season! Lastly, there is a lot for children to do here, they have historic games that you can do with your children on the lawn and a scavenger hunt! It is 100% a self-guided tour, however a site supervisor is always around and is happy to answer questions! I asked her about any paranormal activity that the mansion has had and she did have a few stories for me; pretty cool, a haunting presence somewhere in the heart of Bismarck, North Dakota! I was treated so well and the site supervisor was super welcoming! There is two floors, both open to the public (every bedroom and room is open). The upstairs is not handicap accessible, because you have to climb stairs. Additionally, there is a "Carriage House" which is basically the garage that has been converted into a museum full of historical artifacts! You could spend approximately 1-2 hours here and get the feel of the whole place. The North Dakota State Historical Society clearly did a lot of research and beautiful restoration to this place. I will no doubt be back and I am so thankful that I stopped on by on a beautiful August day! I hope you enjoy the pictures I captured!

Hhhmmmm where in Bismarck can I find a super big park to run, play, take pictures or do whatever my…read moreheart else desires? Well my fellow yelpers, the answer is Sertoma Park. This park is 98.7 acres of pure fun and nature. There 11 shelters here, each consisting of their own picnic areas, parking lot, playgrounds and restrooms. Some shelters are bigger than others, so the capacity ranges from 25-350 people. With that many shelters and playground, you are pretty much guaranteed your own play area every time you come. Some shelters have special features: Shelter #7 is the closest to the amusement park, Shelter #8 is closest to the zoo and has a eagle mural on the floor nearby, shelter #9 is closest to tennis courts and has a baseball diamond, shelter #10 (my favorite) has a bunch of sand volleyball courts and a horseshoe complex. Some other features of this parks are multiple running trails, fancy art on the floor, lots of Pokestops for Pokemon Go, very close to the Dakota Zoo (see my review for that one if you are interested) and lots of trees to provide shade. This is my favorite park in Bismarck and perfect to go running or play volleyball to destress from graduate school.

would give negative stars if i could, first of all place was filthy especially the bathrooms. then…read morewe did go carts which the guy in charge stopped the game due to someone in the group accidentally bumping another person, when she tried to apologize and say it was an accident worker was very rude and sarcastic. then when other players were bumping into our group nothing was said to them at all. then he proceeded to try and yell at her as she was driving around the track slowly trying to stay away from others. when requesting to speak with a manger we were first told that was not possible until we demanded to. the staff were very rude and i would recommend spending your money elsewhere
