Actually they get a MINUS 100 FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: this is a review of the Madison Post Office on Hughes Road: 1. They don't deliver mail. Checks I sent for mortgage, utilities, etc. are never delivered resulting in late fees to me. Happens repeatedly! 2. They steal packages - where else do they go - to the dead package office? Stealing Christmas packages - really scumbag workers!!!!!! 3. Don't waste time filing claims because the on-line system doesn't work. Error after error trying to submit claims because they don't want to pay for all the lost packages. Paper system takes so long that the claim cannot be submitted because the time for submission is exceeded. USPS= UNETHICAL STEALING POSTAL SCUM 4. Broken equipment, run down appearance and multiple complaints go unanswered. 5. VERY POOR WORKERS - accounts for all the above problems. 6. Only interested in their retirement package WHICH results in continual increases SOMETIMES 2-3 TIMES A YEAR with the service tanking totally. More money, poorer service is their motto. Recommend: Close the USPO - they are completely incompetent. Issue a competitive contract and award it to another company that has a better track record than this archaic, incompetent, former government agency. I like this post office! It has at least two self-serve scales, where you can weigh your own packages/oversized enveloped and the like. If the lines for the postal folks are long (and they *do* get long here), it's nice to have the "gift shop" (my words, not theirs) inside to get a last-minute greeting card, or buy items like unique stamps, padded envelopes, and tape. Thier passport office does a good job, too! It's not quite as fast as a UPS store, but it's not awfully painful to get a passport at this USPS location. There's never been a long line to drop mail off in the exterior boxes, although those may be disabled now, since most regional post offices are doing that, due to theft. This facility is so run down. The building and parking lot look abandoned. Grass and scrubs need cutting. Parking lot needs repaving and the building needs painting and cleaning inside and outside. The customer service sucks. Bad attitudes and incompetence is widespread. Sad times.... read more

Inept so called leadership, can't even adhere to their own scheduled delivery when the package arrived 9 hours before carriers were supposed to deliver yet sits there over the weekend adding 2 days to delivery. It is utterly amazing that the post office continues to lose 8+ billion dollars a year with this quality of staff running the counter. Rude, impatient, with zero information. This is by far the worst post office I have ever came across in my entire life. I bring packages here offten because I'm a college student up the street & it's close enough for me to ride my bike. Everytine I drop of packag off, my customers call me stating that the package hasn't been delivered to the post offfice. When I dropped them off 2 days ago. This recent fuck up is so wrong!!! I created a $200 hoodie for one of my customers, I print and pay for my own labels at home. I took 5 packages to the post office on November 20th. All but 1 package that I took to the post office was delivered on the 24th to my customers. This one package says that the post office never received this package, but I know for a FACT that It was. they told me that I never brought the package and that they scan everything as soon as they get it so basically it's my fault. if I still had the package at my home I would just take it to the post office! so why tf would I be making a big deal if I still had the package. IT WAS NEVER SCANNED AND I BELIEVE ITS STILL SITTING IN THE POST OFFICE. I asked him if he could go to the back and check to see if it was back there and he told me No! then asked for the tracking, the tracking number is going to show that the post office never received it BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER SCANNED!!!!! they keeep trying to blame me when I did everything I was supposed to do. read more

Terrible experience. Ron was very snarky and condescending towards me at hello. This visit was easily one of most unpleasant experiences I've had, ever. My first time shipping internationally and granted, I arrived with minimal knowledge as to shipping my package appropriately. I was not afforded the opportunity to ask questions (without being cut short) to secure confidence that my package would arrive to the addressee with no damage. Instead I was cut short several times, called his "special customer" and rushed to step aside to pack my package because he had customers behind me, as he stated. After returning from the corner I was sent to, my service was completed by another worker who concluded the latter of my experience on a pleasant note. Unfortunately, the bad definitely outweighed the good here. I left with a headache and discombobulated. This post office is conveniently located to my residence but I have absolutely no intentions of returning to this location due to this vile employee. read more

This post office is trash. This is the only post office that provides passport services on this side of the county and the passport office has been unmanned since October 2021. They are completely indifferent in the matter, they just tell you look online for a different location and go there. read more

This is the meanest USPS I have ever been in! The staff here (Ron and Felix) are the rudest! The both of them were condescending and offensive. Horrible , miserable, awful customer service! If I could give negative stars i would I had an emergency service call for a facility here had a $1,400 part mailed to the hotel and guess what the package didn't deliver they said the front desk rejected the package well I went down to get to the bottom of it front desk said no one has came in today I asked if they could pull cameras they checked for 2 days and showed me no mail man came im very un happy about this especially since the client is now trying to charge us for lost time due to it gonna try to go there tomorrow to see if they can find it since they said it was in the mail truck when I called. This post office on Clinton is on the way to VBCC but I recommend using Wynn drive post office. The Clinton office does not have a weigh scale for after hours postage. Very inconvenient . but Wynn drive post office does have an after hours scale which will issue u stamps to ship mail on week ends. Pdgutie read more

I went in yesterday asking for help in locating a package that was dropped off at this location 4 days prior and it was noted online as label created, waiting to receive package. I was nice and courteous from the start and had all info written down to make it easier. I was confronted with absolute rude and confrontational comments. I explained everything (finally and still being nice and with a calm voice) when the employee pulled up info in his computer, read verbatim what I said and got rude yet again. I couldn't finish a basic sentence before I was interrupted and told they couldn't help or do anything as they see what I see. I said thats fine but do they maybe have an area damaged or mislabeled items go, maybe someone else could help with that, and I was met yet again with nastiness. I told him he was pissed at someone else and shouldn't take that out on me when I simply asked for help on a package that location seems to have lost.. He told me to wait for a manager, which I did for 20 mins and rang the door bell 5 times to which no one came. He was an ignorant person who then got nasty with the next 2 (that I heard) customers, both of which waited for the manager as well. I will never go to this location again, I will drive out of my way to go to another. read more

If you're getting a passport, recommend going somewhere else. We had an appointment and showed up 10 minutes early as requested. 30 minutes later, we were still waiting and eventually left without completing the passport process. Other customers were waiting at the window to pick up packages for about 25 minutes as well. Either the location is understaffed or mismanaged - don't waste your time with this location. read more

This post office location is worth the drive! (Just finished the last of my Christmas shipping.) I have had the privilege of being helped by all three different retail counter employees since moving to the Huntsville area. Now this staff is 100 times better than the Whitesburg office. Even though line was long for passports, they made sure to come out so often and screen the documents of those waiting in line to make sure everyone had what they needed and not wasting their time waiting. Also, staff very friendly and customer oriented. The Whitesburg off can learn a few things from them. read more

Ron was great. When I arrived at 10 till close, it turned out that when I printed my labels for Priority Mail, on a printer that was almost out of ink. He did his best to scan them, and then gave me the secret of how to get them into the mail stream after closing time. It worked and my customers were thrilled to get their packages on time, thanks to Ron. read more
