The price was adjusted upward 400% from comparable parts but I paid it because I needed it. 3. I drove 20 miles to pick it up only to discover that it was broken with a golf ball sized part of the box missing, still apparently worth 400% markup. My sales person was Brian Meddings. Do not use this person who works on markup and made good money on my part, but refused to have it overnighted to my location and made me call him several times to get status on this item. 4. The part was broken and my two week waiting period flushed.

With my first move in 2020, there was a bit of a scheduling issue, causing the movers to arrive later than originally scheduled and with a van rather than a truck (I had been told that it would be a truck in order to fit all of my belongings into one trip). Therefore, it ended up taking two trips. However, the owner made things right by only charging me the original rate for one trip. Mistakes happen and I'm fine with it, as long as the company owns up to it and makes it right. And there were no similar issues with my second move in 2026. The guys had furniture wrap and blankets to protect my belongings. During both moves, I did not find anything that was damaged at all. What more can you ask for!? I highly recommend Man With a Van! In fact, I'm likely going to use them again soon to help with some items that I will need to move into storage.

The dispatcher Paul needs anger management lessons…read more My friend recently moved across town and ordered Man With A Van movers as they had good experiences with the company in the past. Man With A Van gave my friend two quotes: a cheaper quote for Two Guys with a Van and a more expensive quote for Three Guys with a Truck. My friend sent the more expensive rate for Three Guys with a Truck. But then this dispatcher tried the blame game of "You didn't specify Truck" when to our surprise only Two Guys and a Van showed up. Lemme ask you a question. If I offer you a hotdog for $3 and a burger for $4, and you hand me 4 dollars, wouldn't anyone with a working brainstem assume that meant YOU WANTED THE BURGER? But my friend was sweet and offered: "Maybe y'all can come back tomorrow with three guys and a truck, because it's really a three person job", to which the movers declined. After a quick call, the dispatcher said there'd be no additional charge for extra trips due to the smaller vehicle. What's more is that one of the two Movers had a bad back and couldn't take the stairs like the other dude. So at some points the job is only getting done by one dude (you could argue one-and-a-half dudes). If THREE guys should be able to make the move of loading and unloading in TWO hours, then HALF that much manpower means... you guessed it: it's gonna take at least twice as long! Not to mention they spent extra time stacking things like Jenga inside the van to make it all fit in one trip. Because the job (that my friend agreed to pay $500 for three guys and a truck) took so much longer with one and a half guys and a van, Paul upcharges an extra $300!! Again, my friend is nice, and they're trying to hash this out cause they didn't get what they paid for, regardless of it it took more time. (And again, of course less manpower means more time). But instead of having a conversation with my friend, Paul starts SCREAMING at them, cursing at them, saying "You're Full Of Sh*t!" and threatening legal action immediately! My friend is begging through tears that they want to make this right; begging him to STOP yelling and panicking them. The mover's felt so bad and embarrassed overhearing Paul act like a jack*ss on the phone that one even offered to pay the remainder, but my friend, still shook up and in tears, said that they wanted to make this right and moved what little money they have around to pay as much as they could. We're ALL struggling out here, and the movers def deserve to get paid. I'm sure the dude with the hurt back needs more money and easier hours, but the company is working him to the bone. But to have this dude Paul berate and coerce my friend, spitting venom over the phone? Shouting until my friend is begging in tears for him to stop? I'm never gonna forget that. And this company needs to make things right. The job took long because of Dispatch's mistakes. They sent 1.5 guys to do a 3 man job, without the agreed upon equipment no less. If you want a stress-free experience: steer clear. If you want some jerk from New York taking out his daddy issues on you: you've come to the right place.

They did not take any breaks, worked super hard and got all my moving done really quickly. I was very impressed by their agility, and their hard work. Not only the service was fantastic, but the pricing was fantastic as well. Also, Matt the guy who will set you up in the calendar for moving was very quick at responding to my emails and remained communicated with me through the whole process. I would definitely use this guys again.

First of all, Matt was great at scheduling, giving an estimate, and answering questions. But since he didn't have anything to do with the actual moving process...I can't really say it mattered. I moved from a one bedroom in west philly to a center city apartment- pretty simple. The guys showed up late ~ 20 minutes late. I met them in the parking lot of my building because they couldnt figure out how to park their MASSIVE moving truck on their own. I came down and they were smoking cigarettes next to their graffiti covered vehicle. It took them at least another 15 minutes to actually park and come up to my apartment...where they realized they forgot the dolly. So they went back to their truck and couldn't find it...because they forgot it. So now we are about 45 minutes past my start time and they begin moving things... My mom and I actually helped them bring boxes to the elevator to bring down because we were already so far behind schedule. The process would have been so much faster if they had not forgotten a dolly, and I would not have felt like I had to help because I was paying for them to carry one box at a time down my hallway. Matt had told me that the crew would be able to give me a ride to the new apartment, and when I asked them they laughed and said "ummm there isn't much room but if you don't mind smoking then fine" I hate smoking...so I got a cab. When I got to my new apartment they arrived more than 20 minutes after me...smoking again. I had asked Matt if I needed to get them a parking permit for my new street because I knew my location was zoned- he said no it was fine. Then of course the crew got a parking ticket and whined about that while they moved my stuff into the new apartment. They chipped the side of my dining room table and snapped the hanging wire on the back of a large piece of wall art. Nothing else was damaged. The whole day sucked. They were unprofessional and unprepared. I really don't enjoy paying people by the hour to smoke cigarettes. I called Matt towards the end of the process to let him know that I was displeased with the service, especially forgetting the dolly since I knew it added a lot of time to my move and required my mom and I to help. He tried to make things better by knocking a little bit off of my bill. But all in all the whole thing was terrible. I would NEVER use skybox again.

He told me that like it would improve the situation while at the end of the day these people were taking advantage of my elderly disabled mother on a fixed income for years and blame it on "industry standards". Some of the other moving companies I contacted never returned my voicemail. We got my move scheduled a few weeks before it was to happen. This was very easy with me discussing the details with Pam as well as texting her photos of the rooms and larger items. There were some blips in the delivery of the Pod and I am so grateful that Pam was able to reschedule with such short notice. Our move was a bit more complex. Double D's had to meet us at a location in Camp Hill to pick up a truck full of furniture. This was brought to our Harrisburg home. And then this as well as everything in our house was loaded into a 16 foot pod. Part of the reason I picked double D's was because of their glowing reviews and their ability to load a POD very tight. They exceeded expectations and used every bit of the pod from floor to ceiling. (A 16 foot POD is for a house up to 1400 ft.². This of course doesn't include your basement, attic, and garage.) They did an amazing job! We had a few items that did not fit and we expected this because a 16" pod is not as big as you expect it to be. (No big deal because we will drive them at another date to our new location.) They then drove these items back to the Camp Hill address where we could store them. The price was very fair. I can't say enough good things about this group.
