Been here 16 years at the same residence. I've received two notices that they've tried to a package to our address but was undeliverable. We've been here CONTINUALLY since the Covid crisis began in February. We also have a dog that barks when anyone comes onto our driveway. No One Has Been Here To Deliver The package. They also emailed a notice that it was being held at our local post office "at customer's request." I've never requested a package be held at the post office if it was undeliverable. Tried Several times to call the post office but, like always, after listening to the recorded stock message that ends with something about holding until the next agent becomes available, it goes to the standard busy signal. This has gone on for Years. Terrible. read more

I moved a while back and made a change of address with the post office. I can't tell you how many times the very nice woman who bought our house had to call us and tell us we had mail there. When I contacted the post office they almost blew me off and the problem continues to this day. In my new house they won't let me give the gate code to them to open the gate. The manager almost proudly told me "we don't do that." Can you believe somebody would brag about not doing something? And I waited 20 minutes in line the other day while the one person on the counter waited on people. There were at least two people in the back room I could see but they couldn't be bothered with opening up another window. read more

Recently moved to Grass Valley from a more urban area. I've had more issues with this post office than I had in ten years in my previous location. The carriers are nice, but the workers at the office are rude and unhelpful. Several times I've asked for help and simply provided them the same information the carrier told me, and the worker practically called me a liar. Several times I've been told I had to come into the post office to get my packages, which is a big pain in the butt as I don't have a car. On one ocassion, when I did manage to get there the staff at the post office couldn't even find my package. They said they'd call me back, but never did. I went in a few days later and when I explained what happened, the woman I spoke with said "well it's right here, they would have seen it." Again, staff is rude and unhelpful- definitely need some customer service training (or new staff). read more

Where is my package it had tracking and shows the box arrived at your post office and NEVER LEFT!!! It's been over a month and still no package maybe someone at your crummy post office should bend over and take a look where they lost my package. Incompetent or did some worker swipe it???? read more

There is no option for no stars. This is the most inefficient post office I have ever encountered. 15 people in line and only one person working the counter. You can't come to this post office to conduct any sort of business and expect to be out in less than 20-30 minutes. Here once again...10+ people in line, 2 clerks at the counter, and all of the undersized parking spots are all taken. Why can't I give 0 stars? read more

Incompetent at best! The carrier lost my package, she did not even attempt to locate my address. Supervisor was no help at all. I can't even get the phone number for this place because the call number refuses to let me speak to an actual human being. Spent 40 minutes on the phone not getting through to someone and 40 minutes in the post office waiting for an answer only get an "sorry we lost your package we fill find it at some point." I'm so thrilled. read more

I was wondering how this dreadful postal service was rated on yelp, and not surprised at all it had a whole lot of negative. I ordered 3 things from amazon, they all had been delivered per "Amazon" 12/11/19, but when I got home there was nothing in the drop box. No ticket to pick it up NOTHING!!! On Friday night 12/13/19 I had (3) boxes in the pickup box "NONE OF THEM MINE", so i had to deliver them to the neighbors up the hill. Saturday I went to the boxes and found a ticket dated 12/11/19 and said I had to go to Grass Valley Main St. there was 1 package there for pick up etc............................blah blah blah Today it is 12/16/19 and I still have no idea where my packages are. I did talk to the Postal Delivery lady when she was at the mailboxes at the end of my street and she was unconcerned and said put in a complaint and that was it AARG!!!! read more

I can't remember ever liking this post office. I don't know why, but it seems the employees don't care even the slightest, and are regularly rude to customers. The only place where you wait longer is at the DMV. And apparently, if you have a package forwarded to a different address IN THE SAME TOWN, they still ship it down to their southern California office to be forwarded back up to Nor Cal, instead of just looking in the system and looking at the new address (since, you know, I submitted the change of address ON THEIR SITE). This is the most unreliable, ineffecient, rude, and next-to-useless shipping service I've ever used. An absolute embarrassment for the U.S. Postal Service. read more

Totally rude clerk today. Asked for her supervisor who agreed that sending Wright's silver cream is not hazardous BUT refused to over rule nasty clerk. had to drive to Nevada City to mail package. A supervisor who must be afraid of her clerk?? read more

Horrible experience. Waited in line for some time. Had my pkg that needed to be taped. Told the worker, Kim, that I wanted a tape that would show if it was tampered by anyone, since I was sending a damaged phone to insurance. I didn't want to get charged for anything if the pkg was tampered by someone, you never know. She tells me she can't give me tape, that I would have to purchase it. I said fine. She tells me to go across the room and get the tape and to come back to the window that's available and that I didn't have to wait in line again. Once I walked to where she told me to I noticed there was a whole display of tape right next to her window. I came back to purchase the tape and she helps the next guy in line then closes her register and leaves!!! Wow! Lazy or racist? read more

We got a slip saying signature required. I watched the mail person arrive and leave my box and never once did they come up for a signature. Then we signed the slip, filled out the online form and the mail person took the paper and left nothing!! Then we called the post office and they said they couldn't help!!!! Now what? read more

Everyone at this post office has been very nice and polite. The lines are something long and other times short just any place else. The entrance to the post office is a little inconvenient as their is only one way to enter during business hours. read more

I would give zero stars if possible! Every time I have had to come in to the post office, (a distance of 10 miles each way) I am met with surly employees. I did switch to a P O Box at another location for most of my mail (and they are GREAT!) but occasionally I have a package that must be delivered to a physical address. In the last week, I have had a neighbor's package left in my box and when I delivered it to her, she laughed and said she had just delivered a package to another neighbor whose package was put in her box by mistake. Today my package was delivered incorrectly and that neighbor had to deliver it to me. And yet another neighbor had two packages last week misdelivered. REALLY! Whoever the carrier that handles mail for Dalmatian Drive in Grass Valley should be fired! Such incompetence is unacceptable. read more

I had a retail package tracked. It said it was delivered to my home. It was not. When I called the PO, i waded 10 minutes through their menu NOT to find an option for non-delivery of a tracked package. Then I had to wait 50 minutes to get someone to answer the phone. Congress wants to know why we don't use the US postal service? This is why. Now they will investigate where the package went and it will be another couple of days before I get my package. Sheesh!!! read more

I've never been treated so rudely by a person who works at a public service. Very unprofessional.

I've been using this Post Office for 20 years; I visit every day invariably because I sell on line... The clerks are always friendly and invariably try to go the extra mile... Sure, you have to wait while the older folks visit and chat with the clerks and other customers on line, and there's usually a parade of out-of-town pot farm workers trying to send or cash money orders..But that's not the fault of the helpful folks at the Grass Valley Post Office! read more

Zero stars if i could select it. After my family mailed me extremely important documents first class from central coast, ca to grass valley, ca (5 hour drive), and after not getting them 3 days later, i called the post office. The unfriendly, snippy postal worker Sandy proceeds to tell me that calling about my lost package will not make it arrive any faster. In my line of retail work (i am a manager at a national chain), i could never get away w/ such rudeness. If i had given a customer such stellar help, i would be reprimanded, prob. w/ a written warning, or worse. I hope a postal manager reads this and does something. The nonsense we as paying customers have to put up with is unbelievable. I will avoid having mail sent to this location at all costs from now on. I have received mail faster from utah. Never again. Avoid if at all possible. read more

Thank you so much for the small town service today Mark! I had a mishandled package which was thought to have been sent back to a mail sorting facility in Santa Ana, and was told to expect a two to three week delay. Disappointing to say the least since it was an essential part for an outboard motor needed for an end of the season holiday. Shortly after arriving home from errands, Mark showed up package in hand! I was stunned. Thanks again! read more

When you just finish your taxes and get to there post office at 4:57 and they don't let you in on the day they are due, that is a serious issue. I am appauled. She told me I couldn't Come in because the line was to long. I don't care what the line is, I got there and it is their job to keep the door open until 5. Especially on the day extensions r due for taxes. I am horrified. I hope the last that sent me away in tears enjoys the 3 minutes she saved herself by sending away a customer in tears. She was kind enough to help the family who walked in 2 min after me though since they only needed to pick something up. So they turned away a paying customer who was on time but they were able to help a non-paying customer who actually came to the door after 5. There is something wrong here. I feel stupid for not asking for a name and trying to get this lady fired. I am just so mad. Who does that?? read more

To put it simply- Horrible customer service, the woman I spoke with actually raised her voice at me and spoke to me in an extremely condescending tone. Bottom line- If you're looking for efficient, friendly service DO NOT go here. read more

This is the friendliest post office that I have encountered, which is all the more impressive because it is also one of the busiest. I used to live in South Lake Tahoe and San Francisco and dreaded going to the post office because people there were so unfriendly and so I have come to expect that. I know very well what it is like to be faced with a never-ending line of people and have to deliver excellent customer service while standing all day. I also heard them mention that they had been there since 6am. Please put yourself in these people's shoes and realize that they would prefer a smaller line too. Shout out to Pedro who is always helping me as I am still learning about shipping for my new small business and to the nice lady with blonde hair and bangs who let me borrow some tape and scissors the other day to repackage something. Thanks! read more

I can't say a single good thing about my mail carrier. Amazon notified me at 1030 am of an attempted and failed delivery of a package. However my mail wasn't delivered until after 2 pm. So how she knew there was supposedly nobody home is beyond me. I then waited for over an HR to speak to customer service and schedule a redelivery for the next day. And today I watched her pull up to my mailbox trow stuff in and drive away. In my mailbox was a paper for the redeliver with a note stating pit bull dog. That's it. Now yes I have a dog but he was in the back yard with a person. Not to mention more than one person was out front. She never even attempted to come down my driveway or speak to anybody outside. I don't live in town so picking up my package isn't that easy and definitely not convenient. But now with her two fake delivery attempts I don't have a choice. If this woman can't do her job witch at times requires getting off her ass and out of the vehicle maybe she should not be delivering mail. Her laziness is costing me time and money not to mention my child's birthday present is now late. So if possible I would rate the grass valley mail service negative stars. They are horrible and lazy and have no customer service skills at all. read more

I must say that my experiences with the rural postal carriers has been stellar up until today. We own two twenty pound Jack Russell Terriers who LOVE our mail delivery person as well as the one before her. They run up to the truck excitedly when she drives into the yard to get their pat on the head. Today however we had a sub carrier who maced our dogs through our fence!!! They thought they were barking at our normal carrier. The man was screaming and honking and altogether abusive to us and the dogs. They were maced TWICE before he finally left with a string of profanity spewing out. Do you really think that because people need their mail you can ignore situations like this? A call to the post office offered up the same, I DON'T CARE , attitude. If I hear one word about the other carriers being nice to our dogs this will not go un-heard. All of our neighbors watched so plenty of witnesses. read more
