This is what I posted on my Facebook but thought others need to know that a simple act of kindness…read morewas huge today. It's the little things that sometimes are the big things. Today has been a long and tiring day and I had nothing in my tank by the time I got to Staples in Londonderry to print the funeral program. Nothing was working for her or for me and the clerk felt badly. When finally finished, she said I was all set. I told her I had not paid yet to which she said "it was only XX sheets of paper. You are all set." Esther, you have no idea how that act of kindness made my hard day a little less hard.

I have used their services back in 2013 for picking up and shredding documents. I had decided to…read moredrive up recently (within about 7days of the new year) and save some time and money. Here's the thing about old documents,like maybe some of you out there, I still had a lot left going back some 16 to 17 years. Now like a lot of people out there I have a shredder. Let's be honest though,how many of us (10 pages at a time) will actually shred such a big amount in a relatively short time? Raise your hand. (Pause). Yeah me neither. This is where neighborhood parcel comes into the picture. They are quick and efficient. If you take the drive up there my advice is to look for parking space 999( no not even making this up) as that is right in front of the building. They remembered me from a few years ago (hey I had a ton of old papers then). They are friendly as well and weigh each loose bag by the pound. Ironically I filled out and had them mail out the notarized certificate of document destruction. They will also email it to you only if you prefer. I can't tell you how much time they saved me (as I am getting to that stage in life of weighing time vs. money vs. the fact I won't do it all myself in this case). The relief of knowing that these old documents I was never going to look at again were all gone is priceless. If you've got a whole lot of documents you have been "meaning to get to" bring them here.

It's funny seeing the commercials for the post office crying that they're going out of business and…read moreneeding money. With the horrible service you get it's a wonder they're in business at all. When I pay extra for Saturday delivery and they don't even attempt to load the truck with my packages and makes you wonder??? Do yourself a favor use FedEx and UPS whenever possible!

Who wants to go outside at night and get their mail? Does this guy get lost for four hours frequently? This is Hampstead for goodness sakes! Why is he delivering my Saturday mail at 6:00pm? And why do I see him speeding down my road on Sundays? I'm suspicious that he's so disorganized that he has to make return trips to deliver mail he found sitting under his donut at the end of the day.
