Postal delivery for rural residents really sucks when you order a package from Amazon and it's a…read morelittle bit heavy (poor babies) or a little too big (lazy) or your driveway is a little too long (extremely lazy postal worker) and you happen to be in your 70s and can't carry a package that may be oversized out of the post office down those steps, (God forbid someone falls and sue the post office for negligent employees) I was expecting my package a day before My Husband's birthday, did not get it nor did I get a slip of paper saying to pick it up at the post office. Like it said on my Amazon account, so that's pure laziness right there that you can't even leave a slip of paper in the mailbox. Well, I didn't get it again today like it said I would, so now I don't have it to give to My Husband on his birthday. Thank you very very much Colville postal office you suck big-time.

I was supposed…read moreto have some medication delivered yesterday and when I noticed it hadn't came, I checked the tracker. I found that the it had been "attempted" to be delivered two days ago and again yesterday, but that they couldn't deliver it because there was "no authorized recipient". To me, that would indicate that they knocked on the door and no one was home or perhaps someone wasn't home but they wouldn't accept their signature. The only problem is that we have a Ring doorbell and I checked the times that they claim to have attempted delivery and to my great surprise (sarcasm) there was no history of anyone trying to deliver anything to my door. Which means that the postal worker got to my house, saw a package that needed a signature, and just decided to leave a little note for me in the mailbox rather than get out of their car and knock on the door. This is unacceptable and stinks of laziness and deceit! The note makes it appear that they attempted to deliver it and just couldn't, but that couldn't be further from the truth, which is that they didn't want to get out of their vehicle. -10 stars! Terrible service and outright deceitful practices!

If you take River Rd from Cusick going southeast you'll see this little yellow and brown office situated on river next to the Pend Oreille River just before you cross further in to the Kalispel reservation. This office is another one of those post offices that services a super small community. Usk is actually unincorporated and only has about 800 people in it. Anyway, as with most other smaller offices, the people are usually pretty nice. The people that work here are VERY nice. Maybe it's because they get a cool view of the river directly outside. If you're in to using self checkouts or self service kiosks, there is no automated postal center and if you're really needing one you have to drive to Spokane Valley almost 60 miles away. There is plenty of parking and the office is reasonably clean.

Service on my visit was highly competent and friendly. Finding the entrance was tricky because there wasn't any outside signage that I'm aware of. You can go through the revolving door on the SW corner of the building then take the first right as you step inside. Or, go in the east entrance through a courtyard wedged between this building and the federal courthouse. Really cool area. Stunning early morning light. Epic architecture that shows off a level of grandeur and sophistication not typically associated with downtown Spokane.
