What I do is print my mailing labels at home from the postal app and my account get billed and than I don't have to stand in any lines at all or even have to use that stupid kiosk thingy that gets all backed up cause people find in too hard to figure out. With my label printed at attached, all I gotta do is drop off the package in the package slot or if it's big just take it to the counter and leave it ... no lines! If I have business here in Redding and need to mail, this is the place, otherwise I'll wait till I get back to Red Bluff.

I was heading back to Red Bluff from Redding and realized I forgot to mail a letter that needed to…read morego out like today and I thought I might miss the last pick up if I waited till I get back to Red Bluff to mail this thing. So, my GPS told me there's a post office in Cottonwood. It not exactly right off the freeway, you gotta go into "town" a little. Found it fine and went to the mail drop off boxes on the side of the building. Great made it before the last pick up. Easy to find with GPS! Cotton wood is small and so is the post office ... cute!

This is a smaller town, and I'm so thankful that we have a post office here and don't have to drive to Anderson or further for in-person service! On a side note, this is NOT the post office employee's fault but someone backed into their "blue box" where you can drop off packages & crunched the side of it, so it is harder to get some packages down. It would be great if the USPS could replace it with a box that accepts slightly larger packages (as found in Redding, Calif.). This would allow us to get packages in before the end of the day, but not waste desk time when it's not necessary. :)

He knew I was making a long distance move and so he made sure to tell me to go tell the postal workers in the office in person to forward my mail. I just got off the phone with a woman there to see what would happen with my packages (since I couldn't get a hold of anyone at the company when I told them that I had a change of address), and she was extremely helpful, kind, caring and friendly. Such a huge difference in service provided from this post office compared to any out of town office. I just want to thank everyone there too. Highly recommend using them.

But with my new business, I'm in and out a few times a week. On about my third vistit, the woman at the counter says, "Hi Buzz! Hey, we got a piece of mail addressed to your new company yesterday, but the address was wrong and Shirley was about to return to sender. She asked me about it and I said, 'that's that new company, Eucephalus Environmental.' So I wrote the right address on it. You get it?" Sure enough, I get home and check the envelope, and the original street address is some street that I've never heard of, crossed out, with my actual address printed above. When you live in the sticks, you sometimes wonder why the hell you chose to live out in the sticks. And then someone whaps you upside the head with a reminder.

The prices here can be a little higher, but if you have everything already packed up, or even a pre-purchased label, you won't have to worry about any of that. It's always clean inside, staff is quick to get the line moving and to make things as easy as possible for you. Parking is also extremely convenient here, unlike at the post office.
