My beef is with the driver who decided he would rather not deliver this small package, and so he or she marked it as not delivered because there was "no access" to the delivery location. This was simply a bald faced lie, as it easily fits in our roadside mailbox (where indeed it was delivered the next business day). In fact, earlier the same day the USPS dropped off a couple of packages on our porch. So much for "no access." We have no moat and drawbridge on our driveway. When we called the post office to report that the driver had simply lied about the reason for not delivering that package, we were told it was not the usual driver and to call back the next day. I don't understand why only the "usual driver" can stuff a small package in a large roadside mailbox. The frustration is knowing that this mendacious driver will suffer no consequences for the substantial inconvenience this caused us. I would like to think that someone at that organization cares, but I have no illusions.

I went there so much, he and I were always on a first-name basis with each other. And although he's now not there as much as he used to be, the others who are tend to be just as accurate and trustworthy as he once was. Ernie, who was the person behind the counter, always use to make jokes when I use to walk up to him for a stamp, and we just got along great together. It was rare when he ever made a mistake in the mailing system. I'm sorry I couldn't describe the factors that came into being placed in this review a little better. Maybe, as Ernie cross-trains people, the people who he trains could actually help bring that enlightened sense/spirituality to this small kiosk in the Mall once again, and therefore bring his sense of humor out to bring more people to use this booth once again. And what's best, packages that were mailed under him, never once ever got lost or delayed due to his actions, so something had gone well under his direction. He was always "on top of his game" here. Thanks Ernie and USPS crew for making my days and life a little brighter. You always have been a light in my eye, and will continue to shine brightly through the many years I have yet to use in store for the remainder of my life.

As far as USPS goes, this one isn't all bad. It's a bit out of town, limited parking, trucks…read moreturning around and idling and it can get busy - but the staff is cordial and professional helping old ladies and young bucks, all in one line. The postal boxes are clean.. there's a table to do your mail business and work. Trash bins. Pens. Scissors. Pamphlets and all the mailers you can shake a roll of stamps at. Double doors make this location a quick alternative to other slow poke places where the line is out the door. Another bonus is that this USPS building is at the crossroads of major thru highways and roads. That way managing things you may have forgotten to mail or need to go home to fetch and send out, is a half-way back trip only. Never had an issue. The clerks, JoAnne, Val, Karen, Leah were phenomenal! It was a place that valued customers, they called you by your first name. Lines were long because EVERYONE WENT THERE. However, wait time was minimal. Your correspondence/package always arrived to its destination in record time. Val, was the last person left of that awesome crew. She recently retired. There's a new Postmaster , we wished him well. There's a new employee also, wished her well. We were there to mail a greeting card with a check inside. I had placed a regular stamp and wanted to make sure it had enough postage. The woman said it did. That was on the beginning of March, 2025. It's July 16,2025 and that greeting card has still not been received by the intended recipient! It WAS NOT AN INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY. Because I did not conduct a credit card transaction, unfortunately I don't have a receipt,however I did do another paid transaction conducted on that date. WE HAVE NOT RETURNED TO THAT POST OFFICE IN JEFFERSON VALLEY. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. Convinced that the lack of delivery came from here. If I could give it a Zero rating, I would.

The staff are lovely and I enjoy the little personal touches like the xylophone that you can play to get the attention of the staff if they have stepped away from the window. So much for the insulting reference of "Going Postal" because going postal at this post office means stepping back into a time that was easy and comfortable.
