There is SO MUCH in this store that is NOT comics that it was amusing to me. Yes, they have your comics, but they also they have a lot of adjunct stuff. Do you collect statues? They have them. Oh, and the owner also let me go in the back to hunt down a few Golden Age comics. And finally, the Thing is my favorite superhero, so the name Yancy Street just strikes home for me. I am completely new to buying and reading comics. Last year I watched a new Marvel series (new to…read moreme) named Moon Knight. Moon Knight was released in 22, but I didn't watch it until nearly after a year later. There hasn't been a season 2 released but let me tell you I fell in love with the first season and for the first time in my life, I wanted to know more about the characters of Moon Knight. My boyfriend told me Moon Knight had been a comic for many years and that I should check the comics out...so I looked up Dade City comic book store and Facebook messaged them asking if they had some Moon Knight comics... The manager of the Facebook page responded within 20 minutes and said they did and that the store would be open at noon (yesterday/Tuesday) (nice!!! To the fast response and I'm already loving that!) I find a parking spot near the old court house because it was about 12:02 and parking was not open near the store I'm assuming because of the lunch crowd around Beef O' Brady's. I walk in and the gentleman said hi and asked if I was looking for anything. I told him I was completely new to comics. He took the time to explain how comics work issue wise, how the number system works, how to see what comics were part of collections, told me of websites to check for other comics he didn't have and showed me some one off and special edition comics. He also explained how important it was that when it came time to read the comics, to carefully remove the tape from the plastic sleeves and throw it away immediately so that it does not catch on the comic. When I was through reading, put the comic back into the protective sleeve, fold the flap down and then tape it back down for storage. He also informed many people vacuum seal them as well. But to definitely be careful of the tape!!! I am pretty sure with the exception of about 5 or 10 other releases, I bought all that he had available. I walked out having spent $130 in comics and a bag full of Moon Knight comics. I am extremely excited and I am glad they are in the community. The gentleman, named Danny, also let me know they have an online store as well which is nice too.

Sooo many comics, sooo many Funko pops, and soooo many statues and figures that I love to collect. The staff were very cool. Made sure to ask if we needed any help and made sure everyone in the store was greeted. CoC have a good selection of new and used comics as well as figurines, cards, books, and more. There were also a few tables set up where a number of people were playing games (maybe D&D but I'm not sure). I perused the new and used issues and didn't find any of the specific issues I was looking for so I ended up purchasing two Comic Book Grab Packs for $7.99 each. Each package includes 10 comics and I wanted to get something. They also have a stamp card in which you get a stamp for every $10 spent and once you collect 10, you get $10 off your next purchase.

The staff was personable, informed, and engaged. The store was packed with collectibles, comics, back issues, toys, just what you expect from a shop. In the time I spent there shopping three regular customers came in and we ended up in exactly the kind of nerd out discussion you would expect from the name. I also found something I've been looking for for two years! Great staff, great selection, great customers, great store.

Big store with tons of selections…read more I was nervous from pictures that this would be all comic books. I was a little relieved when we pulled up and there was a sign that included toys. We were here on a very specific mission, one son was looking for ghostbusters toys and the other was looking for pokemon cards. One of the employees told us that they get the most calls from people looking for pokemon cards. So I don't bury the lead, they don't have just packs of pokemon cards, but they do have a set that includes multiple packs for $60. We ended up getting that for my older son and I've been giving him a pack every couple of days. I was little nervous about our mission to find ghostbuster stuff. There were tons of star wars stuff and a lot of funko figurines. We did find ghostbuster funko figures, but that wasn't really what we were looking for. Eventually after walking around a bit, we did find three small ghostbuster items. I think they're meant to be kept on a desk, but my son has been playing with them like they're toys. I haven't seen ghostbusters so I'm not going to describe this well, but they are items to track and then trap ghosts. He was ecstatic that we found them, so mission accomplished. If you're looking for comic books then this is heaven. If you're looking for specific toys, it may be hit or miss, but for us it was a hit. This is definitely a place worth checking out.

They had great teen and adult sections but the children's section could use some more books. However they do stock based on donations so we will be back to help keep them stocked! And…read moreI remember the book store back in the day when it was in Kass Circle, hopping from tenant to tenant when leases would expire. You name it, you can find it. It's 100% volunteer, so make sure you call ahead or head there early, just in case they're not fully staffed. The deals are worth it, though, and the money goes right into the library system, so it all stays local. You never know what you'll find, and its well organized, clean, and tidy. Highly recommend putting aside a half an hour and coming in
