Ordered a sofa, chair, and ottoman the beginning of Feb 2021. Was told it would take 6-8 weeks. My husband reached out for an update/to schedule delivery late March only to be told it would be another 6 weeks. My husband emailed the sales guy Miguel two weeks ago to see if we were on track. Received no response. I called for an update and was told the salesman was off that day. I asked if there was anyone I could get an update from and was told "someone would call me back with an update." No one called. I called back and requested a refund. I needed to buy a new washer/dryer set, and so I began my online research. I found that my top four contenders were Maytag, Samsung, LG & Electrolux. I found that Home Depot, Lowe's and Urner's had prices that were the same or nearly the same on the models I was interested in. I by-passed the other two and headed for Urner's for two reasons. 1) Urner's carried all of these brands, and 2) Urner's sales people would be more knowledgable. My sales person was Dan Markendorf. He was, for me, a perfect sales person. He knew his stuff. He was NOT annoying or pushy. He addressed each question and took his time to speak to me about each model I had come to see. He was also good at discussing with me the pros and cons of each. When, a couple of weeks after delivery, I received a bill from Urner's for a dryer vent kit I had needed and had already paid for, I emailed Dan. He responded to my email within a couple of days and explained that I had, indeed, already paid for it. Dan Markendorf is certainly a guy I will ask for when I am again in need of an appliance. As for the my experience with delivery, I have no complaints. I was notified twice about their estimated time of arrival. The men were very polite and professional. They did slightly scratch up my laundry room door when trying to get my dryer in, and they were the ones to point it out to me. One guy offered to repaint my door! I declined because it wasn't a big deal to me. I had seen how hard they had to work to get it into my tiny room. I am very happy with my experience with Urner's! read more

Worst customer service ever. I bought a refrigerator, dishwasher and stove for a kitchen remodel in October of 2020. My complaint is not with the delivery delays, which are due to covid and not the fault of the sales people. My complaint is with the lack of customer service to reach out to me to let me know about the delay, and keep me informed. The stove was delivered fine. With the dishwasher, there was a delay from the targeted date. I was told to call the warehouse every Friday, which is when they get their shipments in, which I did. Finally I went in to the store, ready to pay $100 more just to get an in-stock dishwasher, and was told, oh, your dishwasher is here! Really? No phone call. The fridge was on backorder until December, understandable. When it wasn't here in January, I started calling. I never had a salesman call me, I had to do the calling. I reached my salesman who said it was on backorder until March. Again, understandable. In mid April I get a call from Todd (first call ever from a salesperson), who told me the fridge is "almost here" but if I would like to come in and buy an in stock fridge, that is an option. Of course the in-stock fridge's with the specifications I want are much more expensive than my fridge. That was clearly an attempt to make more money off of my situation. Here I am two weeks after Todd's call, fridge is not "almost here." I called yesterday stating I need a call back from a salesperson, was told I would get a call back, nothing. I called today, placed on hold for 5 minutes. Had to hand up and call again. Finally a call back from one of my 3 sales persons, Allan, informed me there is no status delivery of "almost here." He said there's nothing in the system to indicate "almost here." So the call from Todd was a scam to get me to pay for an in-stock more expensive refrigerator. Allan was no help, said everybody is unhappy, he doesn't get paid until I get the fridge, etc. No offer to throw in a warranty, etc. Meantime I am financing and making payments on a fridge I don't even have!! Buy somewhere else!! One star is for delivery and installation crew only, they were great. read more

Urner's has pulled through when other big box stores have not. Several years ago, I had a run in with Best Buy not honoring a return on TV that was broken within 3 days of purchasing. Absolutely horrendous service. Spent 3 hours in the store going from person to person, manager to manager trying to resolve a pretty simple incident. So, after several hours wasted and no TV, I decided to head to Urner's where I heard their customer service was exceptional. They weren't kidding. I explained my issue with BB and the sales guy wasn't surprised. In fact, he said they were recently inundated with furious BB customers. Interesting. In the end, we spent a little more than we would have liked but we received awesome personalized customer service from extremely knowledgeable folks. Plus, they have a fantastic warranty and return policy. Now, when I'm looking to buy any appliance or piece of technology, I head to Urner's where I know my money is going to support a local business and my piece of mind. read more

He answered all of my questions and exceeded my expectations. He was patient but available when I had questions (no used car salesman here!). My wife and I'd been in the market for a sectional for a few weeks, we'd tried numerous furniture stores ranging from Lancaster to Bakersfield. We had nearly given up when we found EXACTLY what we wanted at Urners in Bakersfield! We paid a little more than we had originally allotted ourselves, as this place deals "high end" furniture and appliances as opposed to stuff you'd buy for, say, a college dorm room. In hindsight I'm glad we did. A week or so after delivery of our sectional we noticed a defect in one of the end recliners. We called our sales person, Daily Brown, and informed him of the issue. He was very understanding and helpful. Within a reasonable amount of time a very knowledgeable repairman showed up and determined that the piece couldn't be repaired and a replacement would be recommended. He also explained that the damage probably occurred during shipment and wasn't all that uncommon. Long story short, the new piece was delivered and re- assembled promptly and without any problems. We are very happy with our new sectional and the quality of service in dealing with Urners and would definitely purchase from them in the future. read more

Recently (Dec 2015) I purchased a new washing machine at Urner's. Once the unit was delivered I check online to make sure I didn't pay too much. I found the same unit for $ 170.00 less online. Normally I check prices online before purchasing just about anything. I called Urner's and told them of the difference. Not a problem they said. They credited my purchase for the full amount. The unit went on sale the day after I purchased it and the salesman wasn't aware of the new price. The point is; Urner's will match any advertised price for a full 30 days after a purchase. So, there is not need to be worried you are paying too much if you purchase from Urner's. Also, they delivered the unit within four hours of the purchase. The delivery guys were great. Had the unit in and set up in less than 1/2 hour. I try and purchase from local businesses rather than Home Depot, Lowe's to support local folks. My experience at Urner's has always been great. Wonderful sales staff and first class customer support. I am not knocking the major nationwide companies but it is nice to know you can buy locally and know you are not paying too much. read more

He was extremely knowledgable in all products and manufacturers of the dishwashers and refrigerators that we were shopping for. Got a washer and dryer set for about $2000. Installation service was horrible and the washer malfunctioned from dat one and is useless!! They refuse to exchange the washer even though I haven't owned it for 1 month and are attempting to repair it now for the second time! They still refuse to exchange it and want to give me a "loaner" instead of just replacing the bad unit!! Horrible customer service! My family and I went to Urners to buy a refrigerator. In about the beginning of 2017, we bought an LG refrigerator. One of the new ones with the pretty panel that told you temp, if the filter needed changing, all the bells and whistles. Within a couple of months, the ice maker stopped working and the plastic blades broke. Also, the shelves in the freezer started tearing out of the walls, from inside the wall. It took some arguing, but we were finally able to get the refrigerator exchanged. We got a Samsung. The one that has the big freezer drawer and ice machine and again, bells and whistles. Within a couple of months, the light panel went crazy and they had to replace the whole front panel. Since then, it has not been reading correctly. Then, the ice machine stopped making ice. We have had the repair people at our house 6 times and every time they fix something, they tell us that there is something else wrong. Long story short, we have not even had the refrigerator for a year and it is breaking down. Since bringing to Urner's attention, it has been a nightmare. Eldon, the salesman, doesn't return phone calls, and actually told us that they don't care what we do with the fridge as far as payment goes because they already got paid. Somehow or another, our purchase turned into a lease and now they refuse to honor the repair or replace warranty that we paid for. For a company that has been around for almost a hundred years, their customer service is reprehensible. I don't know what it is, whether it be that I am black and therefore must be stupid, or if my mixed relationship bothers them, or they just don't really care about customer satisfaction. We don't want a refund, or to get something for free. All we ask, is that when we pay our hard earned money for an appliance, we need it to work the way it is supposed to and if it doesn't, then fix it. If it costs you more to fix then it's worth, then maybe it should be exchanged. Can we please get a refrigerator that works right for longer than 6 months??? Is it so hard to honor your warranty and give quality customer service????? read more

My first visit to Urners was today. I left after 10 minutes. It was like going to the worst used car dealership of all time. The kid talking to me about TVs never shut up. You cant even process a thought because he talks non stop. He would start talking and walk away (wanting to take you to show you all these different TVs). I stopped following him. Furthermore his knowledge of TVs was poor. Really, the tv has 120 colors or 240? Wrong! That's the refresh rate. The tv has hundreds of thousands of colors, if not millions. They contract out their service repair which, is extremely slow. The Urners manager did not even have the decency to return our first call and inform us of this ( which by the way, puts us out of "warranty" time frame should we need to use it). We wonder if they sell "seconds" at a high price, as we have experienced problems with appliances as well as furniture. We have given them a fair shake and now....we'll, it's time to move on. read more

Over the the years I have bought many appliances and home products from Urner's, and recently a new microwave. I have no complaint to the quality of product. We have been very satisfied with our choices. However, the best part of Urner's (for me) was the confidence of service after the thrill of the purchase. Today, unless you have a service agreement with them, they will direct you to the brand (GE, LG, etc) for them to take care of your needs. My $7,000 refrigerator which is now out of warranty, they passed me over to Monogram, which pushed me to a local appliance repair. Not the Urner's I grew up with. In today's world where service is the main differentiator in a competitive market, The Urner family needs to re-think their approach of customer satisfactory. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!If I could give this "local" company 0 stars I would. Wanted to support locally owned so I took my mom there to purchase an appliance. We found the one to match another appliance she had previously purchased from Urner's. Tony completed the paperwork. We were old it would be in around 2-3 months. After 4 months her appliance finally arrived, however it was not the model we ordered. She was told the one she wanted was an additional $649. After speaking with the manager he kindly informed us they would honor the sticker price of an additional $649 (um. Hello any company honors the sticker price listed on an item! I'm asking you to honor the price Tony told us originally!). Their customer service is awful! I do not recommend them and will never do business with them again. I'd rather pay $6.49 a gallon in gas and drive to Fresno or LA than pay an additional $649 for an item that Tony was supposed to order in the first place! read more

Waited 30 minutes for help from sales staff, only to be told they didn't have the model I wanted in stock and couldn't get anything delivered to me for 2 days at the earliest. Then they don't even give you a time frame of arrival until that morning. Today, the tech didn't call until 11.a.m. to say he would be here between 11-3. Went to Urners during the beginning stages of purchasing a new refrigerator. We had a ton of questions and really just weren't ready to make a decision at that point. Dan, our salesman was great. He answered the questions he could and researched the ones he wasn't certain of. He made the process simple and smooth so we went ahead and made the purchase. The price was good, a little more for warranty and delivery/installation, which was fine because it was a local company that actually services appliances themselves. We had made purchases from them in the past for the same reason. Seemed like money well spent. Then we received the automated call to confirm date, time and location. It turned out that there was an address error for the delivery. So we made sure to speak with them thinking that this was a super simple issue to fix, because at least it was caught before they took the refrigerator to the wrong place, until we spoke with a live person. From there it utterly devolved. The lady was extremely rude and bothered, she obviously didn't want to go back in reroute anything. All she kept doing was pointing out how this was the salesman's fault and she would have to redo it. So we asked if it would still be the same day, and her curt response was that we would have to wait for an automated call again which seemed kind of ridiculous being on the phone with a live person. Initially we were dumbfounded. So we called back, this time speaking with a manager named Phillip, who essentially doubled down on the rude behavior of the previous person. All we wanted was a time frame of when to expect so that we could make sure that some one would be there when it was delivered. After him placing lots of blame, letting us know he has to do many things, and just what a bother a customer was, he said he had to have ten minutes and he would call back. At this point we let him know that we could easily purchase a Kitchenaid refrigerator pretty much any where else, his response was thats your prerogative. After ending that call, we called back to speak to a manager above him to cancel our order. We were told he was in a meeting and would call us back. He didn't. Instead we got Phillip again. Who was again rude and condescending. Who asked what we expect of him since we already said we were cancelling. So after the order was supposed to be cancelled, we received a call from the sales associate trying to fix the situation, trying to offer free delivery, at this point it had absolutely nothing to do with money we just no longer wished to make out purchase from this company. Again, this was a small issue that completely blew up. All we wanted was a time estimate, we didn't ask for a specific time. They could have easily put it on to be delivered first or delivered last. We didn't care. We just wanted an idea of when we needed to be home for it. Yeah, it was only a $3,200 purchase. But we were returning customers who won't be returning again. At the end of the day, this is an independent business that we can't support. read more

Once we got to their showroom (which is very nice and organized) we got with Alan and Ryan which were very patient with our 1000 questions and got us landed on the right fridge. Once that was out of the way the transaction was very fast and painless and the delivered the same day. On their website you can track your order and I must say it was pretty spot on. Great customer service. Seriously! Super knowledgeable about appliances. They have a great warranty too! 5 years bumper to bumper, last 5 years motors. We were really apprehensive about buying appliances because we have read so many horror stories of people buy appliances that basically didn't work after a few months, or they bought a Samsung or lg, and no one would do any repairs. All of that was alleviated with Urners. They are trained to service all of the appliances they sell, and their warranty covers lemons.
