When a business is thriving, it usually isn't looking for a marketing agency. I reached out to…read moreSocial Eyes because my business is struggling in a struggling industry, and I was hoping that professional marketing could help generate the revenue my small business desperately needs. I'm a one-man operation. I handle every aspect of my business myself. When you're spending money that isn't coming in, hiring another business and trusting that they'll help is a leap of faith that doesn't come easily. Communication is critical in a relationship like this, and unfortunately, that's where I feel Social Eyes failed. Our first meeting was full of strategy, optimism, and a clear game plan. During the first month, I tried not to panic and trusted the process. The steps seemed to be: Collect the initial payment. Make minor changes to my existing logo. Build a landing page and an online menu for my services. Launch a Google Ads campaign. This is where the problems began. No one explained that Google Ads charges are commonly flagged as fraudulent by some banks. When my bank sent me a fraud alert, I froze my account and canceled my debit card. Since my bank is based in Beaverton, Oregon, with no local branches, it took 10 days to receive a replacement card. During that time, my Google Ads stopped running because payment couldn't be processed. No one contacted me to let me know the ads had stopped or helped me resolve the issue. I didn't find out until it was time for Social Eyes to collect their next payment. From my perspective, I was left wondering why I wasn't seeing any ads, calls, or inquiries while precious time was slipping away. That was just the first 30 days. During the second month, I raised concerns about being able to see what was happening in the Google Ads account so I could understand the campaign's performance and make informed decisions. Dutch told me I would receive weekly reports. Four weeks later, I had received exactly zero reports. By the end of the second month, I still wasn't seeing ads, calls, leads, or any indication that the campaign was gaining traction. More importantly, I wasn't receiving the communication I expected from a company I was paying to help grow my business. As I sit here writing this review, I'm surrounded by the choices that brought me to this point. The money I invested in this service could have kept my business going for another couple of months while I explored other options. Maybe the outcome would have been the same regardless. Maybe my business was already facing an uphill battle. I don't blame Social Eyes for my business decisions. I do blame them for the lack of communication, transparency, and follow-through. Outside of collecting payments, I rarely felt informed about what was happening, what was working, what wasn't, or what the next steps should be. If you're considering hiring Social Eyes, my advice is simple: make sure you clearly define communication expectations upfront, insist on regular reporting, and verify that you're able to monitor your campaigns throughout the process.

I feel very comfortable to continue my business relationship with Keller CPA should the need arise. Highly recommended.

December 2024 I reached out because my business was growing rapidly and I wanted a professional to help our tax strategy and our financial planning to grow with it. They scheduled me for an in person meeting with Dean as the first step. About 5min into the meeting as I was discussing what my hope was for my future with them, Dean interrupted me and said something to the effect of, "Just so you know, I haven't decided to accept you as a client yet. We are very busy and we may not want to take on your business unless it makes sense for us." My thought was, why did we have to have an in person meeting just for you to tell me you didn't want my business... This could have been a phone call taking less time out of my busy day! It was obvious I was interviewing for the opportunity to pay for their services. We continued on and I told him more about our business and the revenue growth we were experiencing every month. After a while my only guess is he could tell that we were the type of company they could make money off of so he changed his tune. Suddenly I was in and we were discussing all the strategies he could employ for us. At the end of the meeting he said they would send me an introductory email with some instructions on becoming a new client and a link to a portal to upload all my 2022 and 2023 tax returns. Then they would evaluate everything and tell me what they would need in order to start processing my 2024 return and some entity reporting changes for 2025. Weeks went by with nothing sent to me. I tried to be patient because I figured the holidays might have slowed them down. I knew they had my email because they were sending me emails about their new office and having a ribbon cutting ceremony party. Finally in late January I sent another email letting them know I still hadn't receive my welcome email or the portal invitation. They replied this time... No apology for the delay.. They just said, we do have you in our portal but they hadn't invited me yet. They said they would invite me but we're letting me know that I was now a little late and they were getting busy and I should hurry and send in my 2022 and 2023 tax returns. (great, so now I'm to blame for being late) Sadie said in the email, after I uploaded my returns, they would evaluate them and then "send you a tax organizer, so you know what documents to bring for 2024". So I logged into the portal immediately after our phone call and uploaded my '22 and '23 returns. Weeks went by and nothing from them. Finally it was getting too close for comfort for me with the impending tax deadline and it didn't seem like they valued my business or had time for me. I ended up processing my tax return without them. I've never heard a single thing from them until June 4th 2025 (today) when I received a call from them (I think Sadie again). She said she just wanted to check in because they were still waiting for my paperwork to process my 2024 return and she wanted to know if I still wanted to be a client. At this point I have been so upset with how little they care about prospective customers. I told her I did upload my returns to the portal as she requested in February and no I couldn't see us doing business together because I don't think they value me or my time because they never sent me anything after that. Her response was indifference and she seemed happy I didn't want to be a client. She said, "Ok good that's what I was wanting to know. We did receive your 2022 and 2023 returns but you never sent us anything to process your 2024 return." (basically once again I was to blame) I started to tell her she said that they would evaluate my returns and send me the information and format they wanted for my 2024 return but they never did (what she called the tax organizer in her email in February), after I said that I realized I was about to lose it, lol. So I just hung up. There's no point in explaining that to her and going back and forth when they just keep putting blame on me. They don't care. The reality is they've taken on more than they can handle. They should have just told me in that first meeting they were too busy with existing clients to take on new clients. Seriously, it's June 4th 2025! And now you're finally reaching out about getting my 2024 taxes done?!? I don't want a CPA I have to babysit. So, I'm still on the hunt for a good CPA who cares about me, my company and my family.
