David Routt is extremely unprofessional. Unprofessional. Do…read morenot recommend! Here is a copy of my BBB complaint. COMPLAINT:I found David Routt's office online so I emailed and booked and appointment, I happened to get in the same day. I filled out all required paperwork before the appointment and it was never brought to my attention that Mr. Routt's office was not in my insurance network. Upon the 2nd visit with him he informed me that he was not in-network and assured me he was submitting his paperwork to obtain a contract with my insurance provider. At that time he told me to ignore the bills from his office because he would just back bill it once his contract was approved. -Note: I don't know anything about medical billing so I trusted that he knew what he was doing, he is the professional in the medical field, after-all. He then scheduled a 3rd appointment with me which I went to and at the close of that appt he scheduled a 4th. The day of the 4th appointment I checked my mail to find a bill from him for $350 and a statement from insurance stating the claim was denied. I chose to discontinue treatment that day and I emailed him that I would be happy to come back once this was resolved. He assured me he was still working on it, Another month goes by and I get a bill from his office in the mail for $350. I emailed him about and he said his contract with insurance was denied and he was happy to work out a payment plan with me. I asked him if he would split the bull 50/50 since he led me to believe he had this all under control. He denied my request and said the best he can do is 15% off and ONLY IF I signed up for his newsletter!! wow! I understand I should have checked my network before going in but he should have known better than to continue treatment when he knew I wasn;t covered. He also shouldn't have assured me he was handling the paperwork and told me to ignore the bills from his office. DESIRED OUTCOME: The best case scenario would be for him to settle the bill for $90 as that would have been the total of my co-pays if his contract would have been approved. I would settle for 50% since we both had fault in the situation. Him offering 15% off shows that he only feels he responsible for 15% of the issue and that is so far from the truth its offensive.
