Truly an amazing experience. I've completed the series of eight sessions, and each one added new…read moretools/built on the sessions before. Each session was immediately useful to me. I have these new tools and perspectives that I carry within me now, a new way of living and being with myself that is easily accessed and used. Just one example of this - I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. So I lived with un-diagnosed ADHD my entire childhood, school years, college, and into my early years as a parent. It was a struggle to complete school work, interact with friends, or complete projects at work. Sometimes it was a struggle to even show up. I was called lazy and worse, and I learned to believe a lot of very negative things about myself. Since being diagnosed I've been doing a lot of work to learn to love myself, be more effective, and heal what I saw as damages to myself. So these sessions with John didn't cure me of ADHD. What they did was helped me see that I'm not broken, I'm whole. I'm not a product of those years of failure. I'm in a place where I get to choose how I live my life going forward. Now I know it's easy to tell someone those things. I've spent years trying that, and just having someone tell you something is not the same as feeling and believing something. So this is not that - it is a method that helps me embody and feel whole and healthy a very solid and real way. There are still days where I feel broken down, but I have the tools to see the wholeness that lives within me now and I increasingly can use that tool as needed. So that alone is worth doing this work. But in addition one of the sessions introduced me to a method that sounds really simple, but actually works for me, that helps me slow down my mind, and in doing so I can slow down my interactions with others. This has allowed me to actually focus and be more present in conversations that previously would have felt too slow and that I would have drifted away from. I really hate when people say there are easy simple ways to solve complex problems. I'm not saying that this will simply solve all your problems, I am saying it has been extremely impactful for me in my life. It truly has unlocked potential for me to live more fully myself and in a way that helps me determine and live towards my goals. Let me be clear, I feel you must partner with the process in order for this to be helpful - be open, be willing to consider new ideas. But also, doing this work with John has been wonderful. He brings calmness, empathy, reassurance, skill and knowledge to the process. I feel like he meets me where I am at and then extends himself to help me get to where I want to be. This makes the entire process enjoyable and much much easier to succeed. I didn't mean to write such a book when I started, but I guess here it is. I hope this is helpful to any of you out there who are looking to live your life more fully and free of constraints you have had to live with up to now.
