I've had a positive experience working with Accountemps! I was placed in my current temp-to-perm position just over a year ago, the Accountemps staff have been friendly all along and kept in regular contact to assess the placement. One thing made me give them a 4 star instead of 5. Employers choose how long to pay you through the agency. My company kept me on as temp for 6 mos. (to reduce their fees), that was significantly longer than the 2-3 months I had expected. This delayed my company benefits and pay increase. (Typically you are only paid a small fraction of what the company pays the agency, so I was open to the idea of a lower pay during the temp. process, since the staff assured me (correctly) their actual hiring salary was in my range...). I ended up in a great company with an out-of-state headquarters. I had an excellent experience while working with Robert Half Accountemps. They were friendly and professional, and worked to find a position for me that best suited my skill set. Sure enough, I was placed on a temp-to-perm assignment with a company that turned out to be a perfect fit. The company chose to keep me on as a temp for several months before permanency, and during that time my staffing manager, Linda, was excellent at keeping in contact with me regularly for any questions or concerns. When time came to discuss permanency, Linda was right there helping it to be as smooth a transition as possible. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I received a job offer and was told I had to start on "that" Wednesday, or they would have to fill the position with someone else. Long story short, she (accounttemps associate) built up the job offer to be everything I wanted. She even told me who it was for (The Boardroom, in Boise ID). She also walked me through the conversation of, "Do you accept this job"? I replied, "Of course, YES"! I said yes. I was so excited. She also knew I was currently employed and I had to let my current employer know right away. I did as asked and notified my employer. She calls me two days later and says, "Sorry". They no longer want to hire someone new and will be keeping their current associate. I lost my job and income, and now was faced with, how are we going to pay the bills? I had to pull money out of my 401k to make ends meet while I searched for another job. I would also like to stress, I have a good working history with Accounttemps, for many years. They have earned thousands of dollars off of me for being a good and loyal employee. I don't know what the heck is going on over there now, but stay clear. The job market is doing so well that you can get a great job and their sham company won't take wages away from you that you have earned, and/or charge a potential emoployer. I was waiting to post this until after I secured a great position. I did, and I will NEVER go back to Accounttemps!! If i can do anything to prevent someone else from making the same mistake, I will. I care about people. They don't. I urge you to find a position for you, where you earn the wages and they don't take those earned wages from you. Good luck!! read more

This place does not deserve any stars. I applied for a position over a year ago that was advertised at $20/hr. I have over 20 years experience in the field so I would assume that I could command a wage for a temporary employee in the Boise area of at least $20/hr (considering how low wages are in this area as compared to the larger cities where I have lived). I had to fill out an online application. Fine. That took probably a half hour. Then I had to go down to their office and take a bunch of tests and interview with them. Fine. That took over 2 hours. Then I was told that the position I was applying for was no longer available and that they had TONS of other opportunities. Fine. They only had opportunities in the $12/hr range. No thanks! Not worth the gas to drive to the job. Then I hear back from them a year later with some "fabulous opportunity." To cut it short, the woman I spoke to, Jennifer, would not give me a direct answer of what the opportunity paid. She wanted me to re-fill out the online application, come down to her office and take all the tests over again and interview with them again before she would even tell me what they would pay. She kept telling me how she needed to get me in there right away because she needed to fill the position quickly. I told her that it would not be worth my time to do all that for a position in the $15/hr range because I simply would refuse an opportunity like that. I do contract work from home in the $45-$65/hr range, so why would I want to go work for someone at their office for $15/hr or less? I would lierally rather be between contract jobs and not earning any money than take a $15/hr job. Sorry if that sounds egotistical, but again, I have over 20 years of solid experience working for some fortune 100 companies. But she would not tell me what the position paid and just kept telling me that once she had all my information in front of her and we could talk in person, then she could assess what I would be able to get paid. She told me this about 3 different times because I kept telling her, if the job only pays $15/hr, it's not worth my time. She finally tells me that it's more than $15/hr. But it took a lot of pushing on my part to find out that she would "present me to the client at $16/hr." Needless to say, when it was finally clear to Jennifer that I would not even consider a job in that range, she got extremely frustrated with me and was very curt when getting off the phone. This place is horrible if you are an experienced accountant. Every time I see a post of theirs listing an opportunity that pays $20/hr or more, I call out of curiosity. And every time I call, they tell me that the particular opportunity I am calling about has already been filled, but they have other opportunities in the $12-15/hr range. And then I see the exact same $20/hr position posted a few days later. EXACT. Isn't a bait and switch scam illegal? I would be curious to hear other applicants' experiences with Accountemps in Boise and see if they have experienced the same thing. Ultimately, in my opinion, you get what you pay for. If you are not willing to pay for a star employee, then guess what? You will not get a star employee. To clarify, I'm writing this review for 2 reasons. One, because I personally had a few bad experiences with this place and two, I want to warn others that they may experience the same bait and switch tactic. Kelly Services is far better! They are always upfront about their positions. They generally do not have much in the $20/hr range either, but at least they are not dishonest about trying to get you in their office to talk to you about a $15/hr position. read more
