Enjoying an Estrella out on the ground floor patio

Great location with unobscured views of the beach. Food is average, and the service a bit worse. Still, it's about hanging out on a nice summer's day, and in that regard Urban Reef shines.

    Rabbit stuffed with hog

I have dined here many times, and recently it has got even better. A recent dinner yielded asparagus bundled in proscuitto with sheese and a runny egg on top. This was followed by rabbit stuffed with hog, which was cooked to perfection. Rabbit isn't on menus enough in my view. Others were equally happy with their choices. Lovely fruity Viognier wine, too. I didn't pay this time so I can't say how much, but I know from experience it isn't cheap. But at this standard it can't be,really. Sunny views over the bay, good food, fine wine - what more could you ask?Get down there, before they change the chef!

Tandoori salmon and pilau rice with curry

Excellent Experience!!! We came here, as a party of 6, for a 40th birthday celebration and it didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the outdoor atmosphere was buzzing. We had a combination of meat , vegetable and fish starters which was so nice and filling. The mains was equally nice and my tandoori salmon and rice was a nice twist. If we were in Bournemouth for longer I would have definitely have gone back there!!!

The WORST dining experience ever!…read more Heads up, do not order the Oysters, they gave myself, my mother and husband FOOD POISONING!!!! AVOID Loch Fyne has got to be at the top of my list for the worst place I've eaten at in my life! We visited here on the 2nd January 2020 and this review has been written on the 14th January as I have tried to give the restaurant plenty of time to rectify the matter, but they haven't!! My husband and myself took my mum here for lunch. We started off by ordering 12 Oysters to share - 4 each then each had an entree and main course. We were told by the waiter that the oysters were fresh so we went ahead and ordered them. They came with Tabasco, lemon and shallots in red wine vinegar which I wish we didn't use as this probably disguised the freshness. They didn't look like the freshest oysters I have seen but I trusted the restaurant - being a seafood restaurant that they wouldn't serve us something that could potentially kill us! We are 100% Sure that it was the oysters as they were the only thing we all ate that was the same. The following day I got really sick and was up vomiting all night, followed by my husband and I called my mum up the next morning and she too was also sick. We had zero sleep that night and had to drive to the airport in the morning so it was a very uncomfortable trip. Eating at Loch Fyne was the worst experience ever, I have never been sick from something I've eaten so I am pretty pissed off that I got this ill from a restaurant. I reported this to the Council / Health department right away and they are investigating the matter. I also emailed management and they have been really slack in getting back to me and haven't even offered me a refund even though I am able to prove that we have seen our Dr and he confirms that we had food poisoning. While I have never written a negative review before like this I believe it is important to tell others about this restaurant as if I had taken my grandparents here, they would most likely have died as a result of eating here.

Mum & Dads 53rd Anniversary EPIC FAIL. Waited an HOUR from ordering... ONE starter came out…read more Manager came out and said "I don't know how this has happened?" This was the MANAGER! So we left, All 9 of us! Greatly disappointed in what was supposed to be a family celebration!
