It was pretty busy and one of the servers was a bit pushy but the food, coffee and drinks were good. Their deli sandwich was good ($6.50) but there was too much bread. We got rid of the top half of the bread. Their chocolate croissant was good but hardly any chocolate. We really liked their deviled eggs 1 for $1 with a nice hint of onion flavour. And their coffee, hot chocolate and mango lemonade was good. This is a very nice bakery. I'm surprised it's not on the Main Street. We'll definitely go back again to try the other items and eat their deviled eggs again.

They were in every sip so literally it was a waste of money. The turkey sandwich I had was delicious and I highly recommend it. The caramel blonde bar (or whatever it was called lol) was so d'lish. I would go back there for that alone. I'd for sure visit this place again but I am apprehensive about their smoothies because I don't think bark is something I can enjoy, ever lol plus it was NOT on the menu of ingredients in the smoothie. I have made smoothies with all those ingredients and never saw anything like it so perhaps it was something that ended up in the blender by mistake. Plastic comes to mind. No clue though. I'll keep my rating at 3 stars since I feel it has potential and locals like it. It is a bit overpriced as well. Personal opinion.

Their desserts are excellent and the sandwiches are awesome as the quality of the cheeses and meats are at the top for quality. I know we have to wait awhile at times but they have meat to slice and bread to slice which takes extra time away from them to serve. I have always found them friendly. The only complaint I have is the bill does not show me what the items are and what I paid for them. I picked up some items for friends and have no idea what they owe me as I only know the total of both of our orders. That is something that could really been improved on

They also delivered my breakfast and did not deliver my two friends - 30 minutes. I asked for extra hollandaise sauce and they gave me a spoon full. Once they gave my friends breakfast, the eggs were literally liquid and the food compromised. Absolute worst place I've ever been to. A pleasant surprise in the heart of Port Dover!…read more The price's were very reasonable. Your typical two egg breakfast was around $3. Normally when i see a price like that, i think bad quality but boy, was i wrong. I thought the food was delish. I had scrambled eggs and they were cooked to perfection. Instead of bacon, they gave me a few tomato slices upon request. The hash browns were also quite tasty. The service was great, and the staff were quite friendly. The interior could be re-vamped but i thought it was a very vintage look and enjoyed it. The only thing i wasn't overly fond of, was the no outside beverage rule. I wasn't expecting to find a restaurant so quick, so i had gotten Tim Hortens. The waitress/ hostess was kind enough to let my partner and I bring in the beverages, but we were unable to drink them. If you're ever in need for some beachy breaky, check this place out!

As residents of Port Dover, we have been to David's several times over past years. We have,…read morehowever, been hearing that the food and service have deteriorated over the past couple of years. We decided to go in spite of the negative reviews we had been hearing. I can sum up our experience in four words: Not worth the money My beef tenderloin, though cooked to my liking, was gristly, not something I would expect at $72. However, what irked us most is the petty nickeling and dimeing. You have to pay for bread ($19). In most upscale restaurants like the Olde Schoolhouse in Brantford, bread is complimentary. Secondly, main courses come with only ONE side. if you want potato AND a vegetable you pay an extra $5. For me, the final straw came when I was asked if I wanted mushrooms with my beef. There was no mention by the waitperson of an extra cost. I assumed mushrooms came as an option on the plate, like gravy. No, an additional $12 was added to the bill. We have learned our lesson. The prices at David's are frankly extortionist which the beautiful views of the lake do not ameliorate. In future, if we want an upscale dining experience, we are going to the Olde Schoolhouse in Brantford which provides much better value for money.
