Colin called me back right away and spent a lot of time asking questions to understand my needs. I ended up setting a time with him to go up the next day. I show up to the shop and Colin spent time looking over my pipes and making recommendations to make playing them easier. He wasn't there to sell me anything at all but I did end up making a few purchases, which in my opinion I underspent on. It was very quickly clear to me how much Colin just enjoyed bagpipes and the bagpipe culture. I literally wrote her at like 8AM for a VERY LAST MINUTE SAME DAY appointment and she responded, was professional and OVERSTOOD the assignment! I liked that I was able to text her my inspiration of what I wanted and she told me exactly what to book, so there were no surprises in pricing. I also really liked that I was able to pay for my appointment in full on the site. When I walked in I felt comfortable and the place was clean! Her playlist was lit too, I was trying to stay still but it was so good I wanted to keep singing. At the last minute I asked her if she had space for my mom to get her makeup done and she took my mom right on the spot with no last minute fees. I got dressed in the shop and took my hair down while there and Bella even helped me. I was running late so I was rushing getting dressed and my zipper on my pants popped and she literally came to the rescue, trying to help fit it and perfect my outfit. I was so antsy, she was like maybe wear a longer shirt, thankfully I had a few shirts with me and I had one, but it wasn't the look I was going for. I forgot to mention that Bella's shop not only is a place where you can get your make up done, but you can even get an outfit and accessories for affordable prices. So back to my outfit, Bella pulls out a waist belt and SAVES the day! Bella took pics and videos of me and really took her time with me, not one minute felt rushed. At the end of the appointment she gave us both a small bag with a beauty blender and a nice lipgloss also. Here we are a week later and I'm so happy to say my face did not break out. Most times when I get my make up done my skin breaks out (I guess since I barely do it), but with Bella it did not. I noticed all her brushes were clean when she beat my face and she also used quality foundation and other products. She was also a good person to take to, I loved her motivation and determination. I called her the day before the prom and she was able to squeeze my daughter in for an appointment. She was kind, courteous, and professional. My daughter's makeup looked nothing AMAZING. I'm not really a fan of The Gap, but this outlet is a fine store. It's just like any other outlet. The deals and discounts are comparable to those at other Gap Outlets (such as the one in Jersey Gardens). Perhaps the space at this Newark location is bit smaller than other Outlets, but it's in no way a cramped store. At least, that's what I thought when I peeped it out. Also, last time I was there, I thought that the staff kept the store well maintained. If you work in the area or normally shop along Broad and Market, you may find a good deal here.

(So it's only fitting - and long overdue! - that there was a proper soccer store reigning in West Hudson.) I was legit shocked just how much stuff they have here. I walked in assuming "small shop, small inventory" but I was completely wrong. From shorts to a slew of balls (of varying sizes and clubs/countries) to jerseys (representing every major league around the globe) to sneakers/cleats to jackets to an entire wall supporting local teams (Thistle, Kearny and Paisley Athletic) even a "Ref's Corner" where you can pick up the dreaded yellow/red card set. And a really interesting feature (I hadn't seen before) - there's an enclosed "mini-makeshift pitch" that looks like little kids could go and run around to play a bit of soccer and/or you can try your new sneakers to see how they'd actually feel on turf. (I also eyed up a pretty sweet foosball table but I'm not sure if that was for everyone or just the staff while on break.) The owner is a great guy and the staff were phenomenal... they offered help but weren't pushy. They were excitedly talking about soccer teams/matches amongst themselves and when we went to the counter they couldn't have been more energetic or welcoming. (They were even good sports when I ribbed them for not stocking any AS Roma merch... just yet.) Roughly two miles from the Red Bulls Arena. About a mile from 'The Courts' in Harrison. Half-mile from the Kearny Scots Club. Soccer Town, USA (one of Kearny's official nicknames) now has a FIFA-approved (okay, I just made that part up) outpost where you can pick up pretty much whatever you need to get out and about for some footie. Granted - parking can be a nightmare but that shouldn't deter you from swinging by to check out what's what. "Chips on!"
