I always express this when I get massages but no one actually treats the issue. Stacy from ELMNT listened to my concerns and focused on my back, shoulders, neck, & head (and my face!!). I am definitely coming back UPDATE: I came back here again today (5 months after) and Stacy is just amazing. BEST place to come for massages!!

I went in for the foot (and leg) massage and I experienced one of the most thorough and effective sessions I've ever had. Further, the facilities were clean and well appointed. The environment really set tone for a relaxing experience. Initially I was concerned that I would not be able to find the location because there was so much emphasis placed on finding the studio. In my opinion it really isn't that difficult. That said, it was nice that the staff are diligent about helping patrons navigate. I would definitely recommend.

I had an appointment with a confirmation email that I booked on their online app for Saturday April 25th at 10:30am with Victor. I got there at 10:20. The next morning on Sunday April 26th at 10:50am the receptionist calls me to say that I had an appointment with Victor at 10:45 that morning. I had not made that appointment, she insisted that I did it online and that I was a no show and would have to pay the no show fee. I told her we have been clients there for over 10 years and never missed or were late for any appointments ever. She said well you missed this one and it's a no show. I told her I won't pay the fee and that I did not receive any confirmation email. We ended the call, and I went back into my emails. I called her back and went over every single email I received including their annual intake form which I filled out before my appointment, I went over the feedback email and dates and times and told her that I do not have any email that indicates that I made an appointment and did not keep it. She said well you did, you did it online and you are a no show. I told her again we have been coming for ever 10 years, and I would not pay this fee as it must be some issue on their end. She said, we are revoking your privileges till you pay. I told her not to bother revoking my privileges, as neither I or my husband will ever return there - and she told me OK, I will make a note of that on your file. I have gone to Victor, George, Frank, Valeria and years before June and Benja for our therapy. We will not return. This is the difference that poorly trained customer service staff make on your business. RMT's here work at other locations too, and with many locations in Milton for massages, there is zero reason to ever come back here. This is how they treat a 10+ year customer. Zero customer service skills. That's what makes or breaks your business.

The receptionist was incredibly rude and dismissive and did not make you feel welcome. The massage therapist was very skilled in deep tissue hand the only reason for even the couple of stars. I can definitely recommend "By the Lake" as one of the best. My wife and I both go regularly (thank you, company benefits) and we both see different people for different things (she sees Erin for CranioSacral Therapy and I see Alexandra for just a general relaxation massage). My wife says that it definitely helps her with her migraines and I know that I feel very relaxed, loopy and altogether better for at least a couple of days afterwards. So there must be something right going on! Alex always takes time to thoroughly inquire as to my current back and neck woes, tailoring my treatment to whatever ails me at that instant (sore legs from CN Tower climb last visit for instance). She's thorough, professional and very friendly but doesn't chatter all throughout the treatment. I'm happy to chitchat a little, but isn't being relaxed and turning your brain off part of the massage? She's also always offering up great suggestions for aromatherapy and other specific little touches as required...I'd go into more detail but I'm usually quite out of it by the time I'm done, so I don't remember too much. Parking is sort of a hassle (not their fault of course) but manageable. But the place is clean and quiet (despite being in the middle of a busy part of Port Credit) and the prices are very reasonable. Again, it's easy to say that when you've got coverage but I've shopped around. So I'd definitely recommend. There are a lot of places in the area and whether you're spending the company dime or not, you want to feel good, don't you?
