Keep in mind to bring in clothes that are for the current season, and don't get upset if they don't buy any of your things one time because sometimes they might just have too much stock it's nothing personal. I got paid 40% cash upfront for items; jeans, boots, purses, that I no longer used but didn't want to just donate or give away. While the staff looked through my items to see what they wanted to buy from me, I shopped around the store for about 15 minutes. They ended up wanting 95% of my items and I was happy to get paid. I was given the option of store credit or cash. While store credit was more value, I opted for the cash option. I also got 20% off of anything I wanted to buy on the same day so I bought a pair of like new Gucci tennis shoes for a steal price and worth way more than I paid, which made me feel as if I got more value out of the deal. The staff was friendly and said I had a good eye for fashion. I'm glad there's a unique place to shop to find those one-of-a-kind pieces to add to our wardrobes and to get paid for items that no longer serve our closets. Visited on 4/17/24. It seems like a friendly place. I had my headphones on, so no one engaged me. It reminds me of Plato's Closet. It's definitely aimed at a certain group of people; there's a rack labeled Free People. I removed TWO stars for organization. At first glance, it looked organized, and sure there aren't things on the floor, and there are sizing sections clearly like most stores (S, M, L), but as you browse through, you quickly see things are all messed up. This makes finding your size an EverQuest mission, and that is just so time-consuming. The shoes are lumped together in large sizing groups. This seems bizarre to me. 8-10.5 are all mixed up. If you wear an 8, a 10 won't work and vice versa. I picked up a few shoes looking for my size before I abandoned. Store organization is extremely important in a clothing shop. There were several workers on the floor; they need to get on top of this. I don't think workers aren't doing their tasks; I found things mixed up in every section I browsed, so I think this isn't something they do? They just make sure things are picked up? Not sure. It's not a treasure hunt. Window displays and ambiences isn't enough, gotta pay attention to the small details. You're not Ross. I removed a star for sizing diversity. I did not find any plus-size section. I saw an ASOS size 18, a green dress with the back out. It wasn't to my taste. I saw some XL, but they belonged to those brands where their XL is closer to a medium, to be frank. I assume any plus-size clothes fly off the shelves or sit and rot? Cool-looking clothes in plus sizes are hard to come by. It's not impossible to source some plus-size clothing. I see people on Poshmark do it. If you are a size 10 and below and need an outfit immediately. Youll find masculine and feminine; I saw both in the store, and peeps looked to be younger. Could have been ages 17 to 71 for all I know, just saying peeps looked young, fun, and spry. Now for pricing. I didn't study the prices too closely. I saw 16$ and 24$ a lot. I'd pay these prices for my size. It's going to be hit or miss, I bet. I didn't note their price of purses. I'm not a purse wearer, so I didn't look at any. I saw a size 12 tennis shoes on the outside rack at 50% off for 24$. 48$ for used shoes seems steep. I did see some lapel pins priced 8$ and I chuckled bc it seemed overpriced. But all the pieces were a certain style and you're paying for that style. If you found the same pin at goodwill it would be half that price or less. I'd pay that price to quickly find the "style". I read through their reviews, and here's a trend on feedback they seem to not be taking seriously. Repeatedly, people report feeling completely disrespected or made to wait a long time, only to be turned away. If you have dedicated shoppers who suddenly renounce their affiliation with you after trying to make an exchange, you're clearly handling that transaction without proper tact! Train up on how to build in proper etiquette for how to let down a person or tell someone no respectfully and remain in their favor. Respect goes both ways, and they have an opportunity to set the tone. If you're yelling or screaming with these people, you have lost your marbles, and you and they are in the wrong. I don't recall seeing a single Yelp person say they got a great deal on their exchange *dead*. Well, there are some lukewarm reviews on here regarding selling their clothes to Urban Exchange, but they date back to 2015. On February 22, 2024 the owner stated "We pay 30-50% in cash of our selling price" that sounds inflated and they do NOT have the reviews to back this up. This information is not posted anywhere on their website or social media that I can find. Someone said "Look I sold probably $2,000 of clothes for $115". Let's just assume that person is exaggerating and it's only $1000 retail. (I think that's the argument UE would make that the clothes were not infact worth that much bc the owner has made several comments stating how she's sorry how, high cost items can be frustrating to sell at a fraction of their retail cost) That's closer to 10% and that's the figure I think they give. The figures people report just don't add up to the fraction the owner states. And she's been stating this 30-50% figure in comments for years. I'd even double it and say maybe sometimes people get 20%. And there are reviews to support that claim as one person stated they were offered 54$ cash for 300$ of clothing. The second thing I noticed in reviews over the last year are people stating the stock is stale. But I'm not sure if that's the case at this very moment. Bc they had several sales in March. Spring cleaning? Including a 1$ sale in March & February. In February they had a 25% off day of the entire store. First time visiting this store to sell a great amount of items. A lot of my items were either like new or new with tags. I did some research on this shop before I came in & I checked on their website to see what they were currently buying. I had also went into the store to check it out & spoke to a male associate about how selling to their shop worked, he was really friendly and explained everything and answered any questions I had. Long story short they did not accept not even one item from all the three large bags I brought to them. And it didn't make sense to me because a lot of the brands I had were on their sales floor for sale, just in worst condition for the items that were on their floor that they were selling. I understand they sell vintage items, but heavily worn does not mean the item is vintage. I personally didn't have good luck at this shop and maybe the next person might. A lot of the items were pricey too, but somewhat decent on other items I saw. Sizing was all over the place too, if I was looking to actually shop for my size, it would be very difficult. read more

Honestly this place is amazing, I visited Temecula 3 years ago for a hot air balloon and ate at Annie's which happens to be across the way. This was the best coincidence because I purchased a Louis Vuitton bag for $450 which I still use to this day. I now circled back to Temecula for a wine tour and I'm extremely happy I remembered to visit this spot because I found some more reasonably priced gems some of which included doc martins for 85$! read more

I come in here a lot and noticed they don't really much care what the item looks they just buy if it's a high brand. And a good example was from today.. these lululemon are at the end of there life. Once they get like in the photo they are done for. Yeah you can wear them but have that fabric destroyed from miss care from the owner. I've owned a lot of Lulu and this is unacceptable. They were selling I think 4 of the same pair , same style and size. While these where the worse, they were all priced at the same 24$ please stop buying just for the brand and actually buy for the condition the item is in. I loved this place Vintage stores are my thing and I wasn't disappointed. A few things were overpriced for being used but you could definitely find many gems There is so much to look at. Clothing, shoes, great handbags and wonderful jewelry. I purchased the cutest retro crossbody that looked like it came out of the 60's and a pair of bell bottoms that I can dress up or down. Also, at checkout they have hundreds of earrings to look at. Chose a pair of fun looking jetson earrings The girl at the counter was super nice. Asked where we were from and I told her the store reminded me of Buffalo Exchange in San Diego. She agreed. My experience here was about as far from the yelp reviews as possible. I was greeted warmly when I arrived. My items were looked through efficiently and they took about a 3rd of what I brought in. I asked for feedback on the items they didn't take and it all made sense. Found 2 great items in store and still ended up walking out with money in my pocket after purchasing them. My advice if you're going to sell - it's not personal. Remember you didn't want your items any more and they are running a business based on what they need for the store, what's in style, and what things can be sold for. This is by far one of the worst places to find anything for a decent price. This use to be a cool spot to go and find some diamonds. Now a days you go in every other week and it's the same boring stuff on the racks and way overpriced items you can find on eBay for half the price. The lack of knowledge in the men's department has clearly shown over the last year cuz they have stuff sitting and tagged as vintage when it's not. Be aware of all Nike shoes from price to authenticity. There's been a lot of fake shoes in there and have heard the buyers multiple times say they didn't know how to authenticate high end items. Also when you sale there. They'll only take your cream of the crop items for under the percentage they told you. Then go back and see what they priced it at. read more

This is my second time coming to this location to sell clothes and shoes and being turned around. I called ahead of time to confirm if they were still accepting clothes to purchase. The store employee confirmed yes. When I got to the store, I could tell there was some renovations happening and I asked again if they were purchasing she said yes I was told to come back in 30 minutes and they would let me know what they would accept and not. When I came back, I was told they weren't going to accept any of the items I bought to them. I bought gently used designer items that looked practically new. After being told they weren't going to accept anything. I followed up with a question asking was it because of the renovations and they were processing a lot of boxes and displays when I got there. Instead of just saying they were busy with renovations they let me wait as if they were actually going to process any of the clothes and they didn't even look at any of them. The owner needs to be more forthcoming and write a list of things she accepts and doesn't for each season to be helpful. Just a complete waste of time. I will not be returning. read more

I came to Urban Exchange, staffed by actual adults, and was treated with respect and an interest in actual designer items (even if not for the $$ I would have loved).
