Urban Edge has stylists that move with the finesse, speed, and urgency of......a snail. What a wonderful salon if you wish to enter a world where time doesn't exist, efficiency is non existent, gossip is rampant, and the staff move with the swiftness of a sleeping sloth. I entered the salon on a Friday in March, and since I'm still here, I bet it will be August by the time I'm done. In the amount of time it took the pedicurist to do two feet, I aged 40 years, my kids graduated college, and a woman was finally elected to the Presidency. Jesus Christmas, this salon is a mess of molasses in winter time. Maybe it's Medford. Maybe they just hire super slow people from the resource center. Whatever it is, only go here should you wish to experience what it feels like for time to stand still and you loooove to be bored to tears. read more

I went in to get my haircut and colored. I wouldn't blonde streaks put in my hair. I informed the hairstylist Ashley that I already had color treated hair. It was a brown with a red hue. She said no problem so she put the product on my hair and waited 20 minutes, washed it out, dried my hair and nothing, my red in my hair that was not very bright was now standing out like a sore thumb so she said well we needed to put on some stronger product so she did it again waited 20 minutes washed it out blow dried it, and all it did was make the red streaks, even brighter, which were not a parent at all, because I have my hair dyed and auburn red, I informed her that I've had this many times before in Los Angeles where I'm from and it's always worked. I talk to my stylist in LA and I sent him pictures of my haircut and color. He asked how much I paid I said well I think it was like $120 and I gave her $20 tip why I do not know and my sister is also a hairstylist and she said it is so easy to put blonde streaks in your hair even on color treated hair, you should've not paid for it complain and got your money back. I said yeah I'm not the best person to complain about things but the more time went on and as I'm going to have it done today by another Stylist here in Medford Oregon, I actually sent her pictures of what my hair looks like after the procedure that actually did she said I don't know what she did but she certainly didn't do it correctly. Maybe she didn't know how to do color I'm just leaving this so people in advance might know that if you wanna have color done, Ashley wouldn't be your girl. and I hate to leave negative reviews ever but this was just the worst experience I've ever had and I got it was giving it colored because I was going on vacation. and it looks like now was I had bright red streaks in my hair, so yeah I paid $140 to have my hair not done correctly and I don't like to negative feedback read more

Family member recently went in to have her daughters hair cut for her 16th birthday. Shelby Willson was stylist. All she was getting done was a trim and then having her face framing touched up. The hair cut she got looked terrible. Uneven the framing ended up being extremely thick and not even at that. Girl cuts hair like Biden rides a bike. Seriously do not recommend the salon or Shelby. Mother called Ali the manager hung up on her. Very professional. Poor Girl cried all night. They had to go next day to try to have it fixed and she ended up with shorter hair than she wanted and lots of laying to try to fix it. Even stylist was surprised how bad the cut was. read more

Went in for a face framing touch up and trim. Hair cut was uneven, and choppy. Had to go to another salon next day to have it fixed. Unfortunately Urban Edge isn't a friendly business. Our whole experience was a nightmare. We've been going to salon for over 10 years but this visit and way we were treated was unbelievable. read more

So disappointed with this salon. Scheduled an appointment with Darla on the 1st, she called and said she was sick and had to cancel the morning of my appointment...disappointing. I rescheduled for the 2nd of March '23 with Shelby and showed up for my appointment at 1:30pm to find out that she had "food poisoning" and was cancelling my appointment. The scheduler claimed she left a voice mail for me but I had NO voice message when I showed up. They offered to reschedule for a 3rd appointment. I left my patients at the hospital for this appointment. They lied and stated they left a v.m. for me - they did not, which I showed to them when I attempted to check in, along with my reservation confirmation. No wonder people are hesitant to tip anymore, when you disrespect other people's time and money and make no apology for it. You are the reason. read more

Everyone who has seen me understands my anger and frustration with a stylist telling me she knew how to do what I requested and bleeding me dry for money to get something nowhere close. Can we say consistent?!?! I went to Ally 3-4 yrs ago and had a great experience with her. Color and cut, beautiful! For the last few years a stylist friend did my hair but recently moved, so I called Urban Edge and sure enough, she was still there. Today she did a fabulous job with my hair and I'm thrilled to see her talent has only grown. Great products too! I have thin, fine baby hair so it's really hard to find a stylist who can make it full and voluminous. Most over cut and it takes weeks to stop crying lol. Great job, Ally!! I recently moved to the area. I have quite curly hair thst can be quite difficult and unruly at times. I saw Suzanne for a cut and highlights. She spent s lot of time asking questions about the colors I wanted which I appreciated. I absolutely loved the color, exactly what I was looking for. My only complaint is that she didn't get super close to my roots, so my hair looked a few weeks grown out meaning I'll have to go back sooner for a touch up. I recently had my dark brown root color and blonde highlights re-done and I was really NOT happy with the results. The root color was not blended well with the blonde highlights. The top of my head looks like the color of poop and I got charged an extra $15 for COVID 19 supplies like bleach wipes, gloves and masks. Just wondering why hair stylists always take shortcuts to save time, but the clients hair ends up looking like cramp. Highly recommended that you find another salon for better hair color. I've had numerous stylists in the past tell me that my hair is difficult. I thought I was doomed to mediocre hair, until I found Heather! This girl just gets it! She gives me perfect hair every time. I've never had a bad experience with her in the year she's been doing my hair. Unfortunately I don't live near Urban Edge, but she is well worth the drive! She is so talented, knowledgeable, and has your hairs best interest at heart. It doesn't hurt that she's a total sweetheart, fun to talk to, and hilarious. After four bad hair cuts, Yesterday, at Urban Edge had Suzanne color and cut my hair. I'm giddy with joy! I have reasonably curly/wavy medium thick hair. When I walked into Urban Edge I, kinda of, looked like a clown wearing a yellow fright-wig. Suzanne asked lots of questions and listened to every answer. She transformed my three different hair cuts into one cohesive and contemporary style. On to frizzed out mass of dry lifeless yellow hair. She changed me into a sophisticated vibrant haired person. Just the color alone gave my hair more movement. Went to sleep last night after many positive and complimentary comments from my husband. Slept on it all night, woke up this morning and put a comb through it. Ran off to play tennis, all my teammates went nuts over new me. Then on to post office and grocery store, more compliments from complete strangers. You know it's good when complete strangers go out of their way to approach you and give you a complement. Urban Edge Salon has been "my salon" for years. Penny Smith is my stylist and I've always liked my hair-recently we started doing Brazilan Blowouts....OMG I love it!! I almost can't believe that this is my hair.... Penny always listens to me and suggests what she thinks I need....she is always taking new classes etc so I feel like she stays on trend, and keeps me that way too. Urban Edge is low key but stylish.
