I feel awful writing this review because it was my first time at this salon and Aziz told me he had…read morejust come back to work after a tragedy, but I'm afraid I won't be going back. He and the staff were very friendly and says he's been cutting hair for over 15 years. Problem is it didn't show. I told him how nervous I was about the cut because of butchers in my past but he assured me he knew what I wanted: a 'stacked, dramatic, long A-line'. This isn't the worst butchering my curly hair has suffered, but it's up there. It's almost straight across and doesn't match up with the front pieces I didn't want cut because he didn't pay any attention at all to the angle. It's also too short, once again!!!! I barely have any layers and will have to get another cut very soon. I'll post a pic for you to see this, I straightened it so it's obvious. He almost nailed my color, it's a little dark, but reds fade faster than most so no biggie, it even smelled nice during application. I wish him the best with his loyal clients and very fair pricing for all over color, though I have to get it fixed soon so it's another pricey mistake. I miss Sarah :(

The haircut I got today was not that great. It seems very hit or miss depending on who you get but they don't seem to have the same staff working on any given day. With my hair I told her I didn't want any taken off of the top just to have it thinned out and she ended up taking like a well over an inch. I also asked for a low skin fade and she even confirmed that I wanted it to the skin but then only did it to a battle one, also left me with a ton of buzzer burn on the back of my neck from whatever they did which I've never had before. There was absolutely zero shaving to get things smoothed off around my neck or take care of the little neck hairs at the bottom and then she did even blow the hair off all the way before rushing me out of the chair to the next person. And then to put the topping on the cake she spent forever trying to push hair products on me that I have no need for and telling me that the hair products that I use are no good.

She really worked magic with my unruly and curly hair and taught me how to style it myself. The best part about my haircut is that I can recreate the style at home! I will start by saying this is the most expensive haircut I have ever had...3x as much as I would…read morenormally pay! It might be a once-a-year cut for me but I was very happy with the outcome. I opted for the "Deva Treatment" for curly hair that included a dry cut, wash and deep conditioning, then styling. The care that went into the cut and showing me how to style it moving forward was very much appreciated. I recommend the treatment as a first visit but future visits can only be the dry cut (making it only just more than double what I would normally pay ‍). Also, it took about 3 hours for the cut, wash, deep conditioning, & styling...another reason to only do the dry cut in the future. I'm not really sure I can justify the cost too much to return but I'm also not sure I can say that I've ever loved a haircut like I do this one. Four stars is mainly for price. Five stars for everything else.
