I cannot discourage you enough about this company. I booked a stay for my family of 4. It was an upwards of $300/night. The booking process was smooth. However, after we checked in, we quickly realized that one of the windows' latch was broken and being on the 16th floor with rain and temperatures in the 40's, we could not use one of the rooms at all. I emailed the Ur hip and they said that it would fixed shortly and they would send someone up. After a few hours with no maintenance personnel in sight, I emailed them again. We were reassured that someone will be up. The manager of the apartment complex came and took pictures and said it was definitely broken and left. We had a 7 night stay and the window never got fixed; in fact I was given a step by step tutorial in one of the emails 'how to close a window' which as quite insulting since I felt that our request was not taken seriously. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and could not use the second room at all and had to sleep in the living room. Urhip was emailed constantly and we were constantly ignored. We were never reimbursed. I am now waiting to at least receive my deposit back from this shady company. Truly disappointing experience. read more

I recently stayed at the 1955 Locust St location in room 2F for a work trip. Staff: The day before my arrival I got an email with entry instructions for the front door and then to get into my room then later in the day I received a phone call to make sure I got the email and they wanted to make sure I didn't have any questions. I also received text alerts with info. They communicated with me via text several times throughout my stay to make sure everything was to my liking. I also coordinated with them via text about trying to store my bag for several hours before my 5pm flight out. They kindly offered for me to store my bag at their offices that weren't very far away; however, I ended up storing it at the UPENN lab while I went to the museum, etc. I didn't have any issues but my impression was that they cared about my stay and wanted to make sure everything was going good for me. Room: I stayed in 2F so had to walk up 1 flight to get to my room. Everything was very clean and I felt it was roomy in the three spaces: bathroom, bedroom, living space/kitchen combo. Decor was fine. Bed was very comfortable. My only gripe about the room was that when the heat would come on it would blow air against the opposite wall and would jingle a decorative lamp that had wind chime like things hanging from it. I had to lay a shirt over it to mute this. I didn't want to relocate it. Other than that I slept very well once that was solved. Internet was solid, as well. Location: I love staying in Rittenhouse so I knew the location would be good. Ultimo Coffee across the street has amazing espresso and the croissant was also delicious. There were plenty of neat places to eat nearby. There was snow on the ground so Rittenhouse Sq was especially beautiful. I didn't notice any loud people at night. It is just fun enough of an area to have lots of options at night but not so bad that you have to deal with woo girls outside while you are trying to catch some zzz's. I should have looked at this yelp review before booking an Airbnb. They seem to be just chasing you for a buck and not being accommodating or flexible around covid. Tried to cancel but they have strict cancellation policies that doesn't really take into account how it affects customers at a time when everything's so fraught with this pandemic. read more

UrHome location reviewed: 1955 Locust St @ Rittenhouse Sq. 1st Floor Home (Apt. 1F), Edited 5/25/2018 Note that Ur Home characterizes this building as a Brownstone; it's not; it is a typical Philly Row House veneered with masonry face brick. This location was chosen due to it being adjacent to Rittenhouse Sq. Park and surrounded by many restaurants. Another criteria was the fact that this apartment is on the first floor; one step up to the front door, then another three steps up to the entry foyer. We arrived on a Friday evening for a weekend stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Upon entering, we were surprised and pleased to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers as well as an arrangement of impressive white roses along with a card, all arranged by Steve. Breakfast fixings were found in the kitchen which we enjoyed both Sat and Sun mornings, again, thanks to Steve. Overall, the dimensions of the rooms were found to be satisfactory for two people other than the BR. The LR area is somewhat combined with the KIT having (the only) two windows that overlook Locust St. An extremely small table with bar type stools suggests they be used for eating. However, they appear to be more for decoration other than for actual dining. We used the one sofa and coffee table to relax, have breakfast, and view some TV. A chandelier provides bright light over the LR. A small lamp sits to the side of the sofa and was not of much use. Ceiling mounted spots are located over the fridge to illuminate the KIT area. We would have liked to have seen dimmers on these light fixtures. We found the Queen-sized (very downy) bed to be very comfortable. Two types of pillows were found to choose from; both were very acceptable. The AC worked well yet we could have used another blanket to place over the bed spread quilt; none was found. It should be noted that one side of the bed was positioned against the wall in order to fit it into the space. This caused us to crawl over one another, somewhat awkward. Bedroom lighting consisted of a (very) large curved-arm lighting fixture, floor mounted, that extended up and over the center of the bed. The ON/OFF switch consisted of a foot-operated button near the foot of the bed which was inconvenient at best. With the overhead lamp ON, and laying in bed, we felt like we were in an operating room. Reading lamp sconces could have been provided at the ends of the headboard. (There are small shelves built into the headboard which are illuminated with low voltage lamps and clearly not intended for reading nor romance.) One window is located in the BR (covered in an opaque curtain) and overlooks a blind courtyard behind the building; the one bathroom window is non-viewable privacy glass and overlooks the same area behind the building. Wood screws that secure the trolley to the top of one sliding closet door had pulled away from the trolley; the edge of the BR door was split and the latch tongue screws had pulled out of the door edge, damage noted following our checking-in and reported to Ur Home. Rentals (Apts) offering more sq footage with nicer layouts were later found for lesser costs. This Home would not be my first choice should we use Ur Home again. read more

I stayed at "the arch" apartment off 17th street for a few weeks, while the location was good. The apartment was old and small but reasonable. I then stayed 2.5 months in "the arrive" in university city in a penthouse apartment which was a new building, great location and absolutely amazing. Both sites had a good gym, coffee In the Resident lounges and 24 hour concierge. Amazon packages were delivered without any issues. The folks at urhip were very nice and easy to work with also. Fixed issues fast and were helpful! Would definitely stay with them again! read more

We stayed at an apartment at 755 N. Capitol St. in the Fairmount area. It was very well maintained, clean, spacious, and in excellent working order. Easy to find for Uber drivers. Also easy walk to City Center and museums. Also Rite Aid and grocery shopping within one block. Highly recommend this company. read more

We had booked a weekend to visit Philadelphia and unfortunately Covid-19 happened. With so many hospitality companies altering their cancellation or check-in policies, UR Home/UR Hip did nothing. Didn't even offer us to change our check in date. Definitely not a hospitable hospitality company where almost every other company in the hospitality space is doing all that they can to help one another. They are doing nothing. read more

My expectations were simple: (1) clean studio with comfortable bed, a table, and wifi, (2) quick access to nearby parking so as to not have to carry bags for multiple blocks (2 parking lots less than a block away), (3) location with many nearby restaurants and provided the ease of being able to go for long walks. All of these expectations were met and the hosts were very responsive throughout the process with any questions or concerns I had. I look forward to my next trip to Philadelphia. read more

right now I am really frustrated with this company. I have reservations for 2 bookings at the 1500 Locust St building and cant get anyone to call me or email me back with my check in information. When I call the 800-913-9484 number it just rings off the hook. My son is graduating from college and this experience is making a great time in our lives really stressful. read more

You'd think with everything going on with the corona virus, that an upstanding company would have some sort of understanding that people won't be travelling, and would reimburse people for their trips that obviously can't happen now. So instead of just reimbursing someone, they want us to either a) pay them for a rental we cannot use, or b) want us to risk travelling, get the corona virus, spread it to anyone else who hasn't gotten it yet, and kill grandpa. My boyfriend and I recently stayed at 1500 Locust on our weekend trip to Philly. The location was perfect and central to everything (restaurants, shopping, subway, etc). The apartment was exactly as advertised although it did look a little smaller in person than in the pictures but that's not unusual. We were on the 35th floor so the view was great from our balcony. We didn't get a chance to use any of the included amenities like the pool or rooftop deck area but Steve was nice enough to show them to us when we arrived. Steve kept in contact with us throughout the entire process from booking to checkout and was very helpful with everything. The price was reasonable compared to hotels in the same area. It really was like a home away from home. The only thing I really didn't care for was basically being told to "pre-clean" the apartment before leaving (loading the dishwasher, taking out trash, etc). With the cleaning fee we paid and knowing that someone was actually coming to clean the apartment, I don't think we should have been asked to do that. Other than that, everything was great. I would definitely choose a room with Ur Home In Philly again next time I visit. read more

In October 2014 I made a reservation and paid for an apartment for 4 nights with Ur Home in Philly for my son's graduation in May 2015. As you might expect come May all of the lodgings were booked as several colleges were holding graduations. I made reservations in an area where we could walk to graduation festivities and all of the restaurants and within a couple of blocks of my son's apartment. My son's 89 year old grandmother in particular needed a place to rest as we packed to move. I needed a place where I could easily pop in to check on her. That is why I made all of my plans 8 months in advance. Four days before our arrival I receive an apology email that our apartment was "no longer an option" , signed by Jennifer and those nice people at UrHip. It seems there was a "medical emergency" with prior renters and they could not vacate." What is special about a "medical emergency" is that YOU become the one being "difficult" and "unsympathetic" a person of such low character that you can not understand that a person is "gravely ill." See how perfect a "medical emergency" is in this situation, so hard to argue and of course impossible to verify. They were sorry for the "inconvenience", --- what an understatement. I think that verbiage made me the maddest. They would be happy to refund ALL of our money, as if they were being gracious and they had a choice not to. They offered us a "better place" at no extra charge. The problem of course was that it was 10 to 15 minutes by CAR away, not a five minute walk. All of the close in places were booked. We would have expensive transportation with several trips back and forth in heavy traffic and of course no way to check on grandmother. In checking on the alternate "better place" online it showed a maximum cost of $350 a night, even listing the apartment number relayed to me so I knew I had the right one. I paid $550 a night where I was, but they were not going to charge me any more. Great! I do understand that all over town hotel rooms, apartments etc were almost doubling in price but although I couldn't make their offer work, maybe they could have offered to cover transportation costs. They didn't. You do have to wonder if this was such an upgrade, why was it still available when nothing else was? This was a win/win situation for them, they had the original place booked, my money for 8 months and another place rented which hadn't booked. When I told her it wouldn't work she asked me to give her 24hrs to try to come up with something. 24 hrs later she was unable to, (big surprise) even though they lease out several apartments in the original apartment building. I guess I was the only one they couldn't accommodate. They did promptly refund my money, thus the one star. In the end we made do with one hotel room, seven blocks away that we were lucky to get, at an astronomical price. I believe Ur Home in Philly ruined a very special occasion for us. If you don't really care where you rent, your plans are just not that important to you or them, are ok with last minute changes and don't mind being "inconvenienced" then you should definitely give them a try. read more

I did research on Ur Home Philly. With the 2 reviews I found and their website. I gave them a try. I asked for a 1 bedroom apt with the premium amenities at Rittenhouse Square for a 6 month business trip. They were going to give a place on Locust St a premium package of a 3rd floor Walk UP. I objected to this luxury and they had no other housing. So the put me up in another building with elevator. in a studio and they would have a 1 bedroom apt in Logan Square. I looked at the pictures and given a tour of an unfurnished apt and shown what it would look like furnished. Customer service assured me the would help me move. AS long as I Packed they would move my belongings. This did not happen. I was ready at 4 PM. They did not have the van or the proper help as promised. Customer service sent me a young man to help me load my car. So I moved myself with this fellow. We get to my new place and my helper drops a bag and breaks a bottle of maple syrup I mentioned it to him outside the building. He denied the broken bottle and proceeds to bring it to my new place and drip it all over the carpet. I spoke to customer service rep about this and he shrugged it off and said he probably did not hear it. I mentioned that I am going to be held accountable for any damages. Nothing more was said. So I was supposed to receive a kitchen table and chairs. Instead I have this high top table and 2 metal swivel chairs that when I go to sit down I hit my legs into the table and it is almost impossible to get in and out. I called the owner about the different issues I have had. IE not receiving my computer that was mailed to me because customer service didn't ask about my package by my name. I need my computer for work. I made the mistake of asking for a 2nd sponge and got refused. Nobody helps, Nobody cares. There is no way out.. They have answer for everything and that is it is all the customer's fault. You sign a lease so you are legally. In addition, no cleaning service is provided. If you pay an additional 7 dollars cleaning people will come every 2 weeks. Other long term hotels include this as part of your stay. read more
