I called them around noon on Feb 5, 2026. He responded and stated he could do the job for $225.00 and would arrive in 20 mins. One hour later, I sent a text to make sure he received my previous text. He confirmed and again, said I will arrive in 20 minutes. He arrived at 2:07 pm. I showed him the two doors with the locks and went about my daily activities. About 30 minutes into his visit, I hear drilling on my front door. When I went to see what he was doing, he had REMOVED both the deadbolt and the doorknob and was DRILLING into my door. At that point, he had drilled a larger hole in my front door and stated that his "foot slipped" in the sawdust and his drill bit dropped carving a significant gap that he said he could cover with a digital locking mechanism. . . At this point, he called someone to come help him with this disaster of a mistake to my front door. This man assisted him with installing a digital lock that was SUPPOSED TO BE BLUETOOTH but was not. He told me that since the major gash in my door was his mistake that he would not charge me for the digital lock since it will cover the gash made in the door. So now I have a much larger button code door lock (see pictures) that still did not cover the mistake in the door. THEN he charges me $280.00 instead of the $225 he initially quoted. The new lock requires batteries - which he did not have, so I had to make a trip to Lowe's for that... just a major cluster. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Keep in mind, all I wanted was the current door locks re-keyed... now I have to buy new double doors from my front entry.

He started drilling out the whole and made it too big. He tried to put his new locket in and it didn't fit (it wasn't even the right kind of lockset - he after the fact told us that he didn't have the correct one). He then sloppily put together the old lock and said that was all he could do and charged us $110. Left us totally hanging and now won't answer or return calls. Had to pay a "real" locksmith $150 to fix the problems this guy created. Run away from this service. Horrible experience.

I contacted North Gate Lock and Key through this app for a quote and received a prompt response. It was late night and on a weekend so I was surprised. The other locksmithing companies I googled couldn't be reached. This company is 24 hours! I called and spoke to Dell. He was polite, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and very adaptable to my tight schedule. He came on time and the job took less then 5 minutes. There was no mess after the job was done. I received a discount as a new customer and I didn't even ask for one. This was fantastic customer service. On top of the that he beat the other quote I revived for the same job offering a price less than 45% of what they quoted. It was just an overall steal for me and I couldn't be happier. Finally had an occasion to use their locksmith services, and they did a great job. I brought in my…read morerim lock looking to replace it so that I could get one that comes with a key, plus possibly a new doorknob because mine was a bit rickety. They said they could make me a key for my current lock for only 20 dollars, and they offered to clean up the lock as well. As far as the knob, the new ones are all super pricey, so they cleaned mine and added newer and more stable screws. I ended up paying 10 bucks more than the quoted price, but I'm really happy with the work. The lock looks brand new despite being made in 1871, and the key is simply perfect. My childhood dream of carrying a fully functional skeleton key on my everyday key ring is now fulfilled.
