I have been working with consignment shops for years. This is the worst consignment shop I have ever worked with in 25 years. I have great quality items that are in great shape. Some items never worn. Popular brands like Nike, Adidas, Guess, etc. They seldom take any of my items. I'm given answers like the qualities too nice or it's outdated stuff, etc. etc.. the shop that I dealt with is run by a bunch of teenage girls. I've never seen an adult work in the store. The half dozen times I've been in. I will never go back and will not recommend the store to any of my friends, colleagues, or family. I've also noticed that their prices are rather high and some of the things they did buy from me, I hardly got any money. It feels like the compensation is very little for what they charge for the items they have bought. Not a business that I care to ever work with again. Very unpleasant experience. I have many Northface and Patagonia jackets and coats and I will be going elsewhere to consign They probably wouldn't accept them anyway for whatever reason. I will never go back. I completely understand the risk when attempting to sell with a secondhand store. With that said, I donated 600$ of new, in season, in demand according to their website, freshly washed clothes. Including 3 new pairs of converse, at least 12 $$ dresses and a variety of other clothes. I got 13$, 13$. Absolutely absurd and greedy honestly. read more

The teenagers here wouldn't know nice clothes even if it hit them right in the face. Brought in a ton of nice barely worn business attire from places like Anne Taylor, loft, White House black market, polo, and banana republic. Among that was a never used coach wallet. They passed all that up and took a crop top from American eagle and pair of crappy old navy jeans which I got a measly $13 for. Was offered $16 in store credit which I couldn't use as all the crap that they do sell is marked up so steeply. Shouldn't have ever wasted my time and just donated. Among all other things to add the log in system there does not work. The girls are also not nice or attentive either. read more

Good clothes, nice workers, clean. Never had any issues and I've been able to sell clothes there. A good Uptown Cheapskates location.

I've never been one to write a review, but i have continually sold with other Uptown locations with no problems at all. I always call the day before or the day of, to ask what each location is accepting as far as items and name brands. On 2 different locations I have called this location and asked specifically and only brought in what they said ok to. BOTH times they turned away EVERYTHING I brought. Their issues was "no thank you due to inventory and style."' As I grab my bags, one of the staff members continued to watch me like I was going to cause an issue about them turning down my items...I didn't. A few weeks later, I call again and bring in only what is said and listed on their website as needed. Again , the same staff member turns away all my stuff. So 2 days later ,I give my neighbor (who is white) the SAME bag that I just took up there..she takes the same bag.. they bought 8 items out the bag from her. Today I go in with a bag for the last time. Again, they turn my entire bag of name brand jeans away. Seems like clear discrimination to me. Thanks for treating Veterans this way. read more

The reason their prices are so low is that they pay little to nothing for what they take in. I took in 3 big boxes of clothes, shoes, and boots. They went through it all and were willing to give me $3 for a pair of Carlos Santana boots that I'd worn twice. They said the other items were not what their customers were looking for (bull#*@&). I should have taken it all back and donated it somewhere, but at that point I didn't want to haul the heavy boxes back to my SUV. I guarantee I'm not the only one who's done that. read more

I'm not sure how I feel about this place anymore. I usually always find something, but sometimes their prices are way too high for a consignment shop. Also, today I went in and felt like my mom and I were being watched. This girl was super friendly, but would come up to us like every five minutes. It felt like they were watching us so we wouldn't steal. Newsflash yes I am black. No I'm not going to steal. Also, the worker Haley was not friendly at all and borderline rude. This place is hit or miss on finding clothes (and friendly staff). I've gone in before and purchased a lot but the last two times I've found nothing I liked. I've only tried to sell to them twice and I'm always surprised by what they don't accept, compared to what I see on their racks that they've bought from other people. I had a pair of Nine West kitten heels that had been worn one time (before I realized the fit was too big) and they didn't buy them! On my most recent visit, the girl at the counter was very nice, wish I could remember her name. I will continue to stop in here because it's convenient and because I bought my all-time favorite dress from Uptown. read more

I brought in some items to sell and was told take a look around while they went through my items. The estimate for my wait was about 20 min since there was one other buy ahead of me. So took a look around the store and heard the name called of the woman who was ahead of me, also selling some items. I had looked through the store 4 times and still hadn't heard my name called. At this point has been about an hour. The associates seemed confused about what to do and whose items belong to whom, after another customer came in to sell after me. I approached an associate to check on my items and discovered they had finished my items ages ago. Were they ever going to let me know?!? I guess not. They need a better system of organization and better staff training. I won't be coming back for a while. read more

I love this place. It's a consignment shop where you'll never be in want of variety or quality. From designer purses to trendy flats to flowy maxi skirts, this is a great place to go when you want some fresh digs without breaking the bank. Clothes are organized by size and color. Need a sized medium sparkly blank tank, or a strapless white sundress? You'll know exactly where to look. Prices are overall reasonable. I'm a sundress fiend and pay an average of $15 per dress. And they're awesome dresses. The merch is a combination of gently used garments sold by customers, and collections bought from retailers, much like a TJ Maxx or Marshall's type deal. Staff is friendly and helpful. I suppose the reason I can't give it 5 stars is that I was dismayed when I returned an impulse purchase about 10 minutes after leaving the store, only to discover that they only issue store credit for returns. I returned because I needed my cash back. :) My fault, but I think one should get cash back if conditions are suited. read more

I went here after realizing goodwill stores close at 6pm. Looked up thrift stores near my area and found this place! I really loved it so so so many cute styles as I'm not so picky with my clothing, the workers were exceptionally sweet especially the worker Dulaney (I think that was her name). Not much clothing for men/children though i'll say this store goes more for young adults. Some things can be pricey such as a very small .30 fl oz lipgloss was 3.99. But the product was really good so it kinda see why it's pricey. Overall really loved this place. :) read more

The ultimate disappointment. I have been selling/shopping here for years. It's sad to see how much this business has lost its way. Rude employees that are completely complacent. I went today to sell some items (MK, Banana Republic, Express, Anne Taylor, etc.) When I approached the women working at the 'sell' counter, they were evasive but half heartedly told me it would be 45 minutes. I get that, it was Sunday, I had a hair appointment next door, but not for two hours, so I had time to waste. During my wait I heard the MOD be rude to multiple people. But hey, she wasn't rude to me. Fast forward one hour and fifteen minutes; I ask the girl at the counter if I should go get lunch and come back. She asks my name, then she tells me 'your order has been ready for a while'. I ask why I wasn't alerted, being that I was standing there in front of them much of that time. Then Meredeth tells me 'I don't know how to pronounce your name'. Wow, that's sad, if she goes to public school, they have let her down being that she can't read basic English. When I point out that my name is part of basic vocabulary, she says 'well I tried to call you'. I had my phone in my hand the entire time I was there. I ask how could it be that I missed the call. Then Meredith says 'maybe I dialed it wrong'. So now not only can Meredith not read basic English, but she claims to be unable to work a phone. So the real question is, who gave this poor human a job? Are her parents not ashamed? Their daughter can barely read and can't use a basic telephone. Why is it that the manager doesn't make the prospective employees pass a basic aptitude test? After the whole ordeal, the owner (Patrick) came out to the parking lot, he tried his best to resolve the issue. When I pointed out that Meredith lied about calling me, he apologized, so clearly he knows she lied to a customers face. He also seemed to have no idea why his employee cannot read basic english. Do they not know that their business will suffer due to hiring inept employees? It is worth the drive to go to the Towson location. Even going to Plato's Closet in Towson is a much more thrilling experience. Hopefully whoever is in charge will change their expectations of potential employees. Your business will suffer as long as you rely on inadequate workers. It's a shame to see you lack such imperative judgement. read more

Took clothing, shoes, and accessories there on a friends recommendation, she had told me how they gave her good prices for her stuff. Loaded up my trunk with north face, coach, polo, just to name a few designers. Could not believe that they didn't take but a few things. Not worth the aggravation of waiting 90 minutes for them to go through my stuff. Don't waist your time here trying to sell your stuff. read more

From a sellers point of view - DEFINITELY NOT the place you wanna go. first off, you really don't know what clothes they're gonna be interested in from you, i was honestly really surprised about what they turned down and what they wanted from what i had to offer, they actually wanted the stuff i didn't expect them to and turned down the stuff i was sure they'd take.. anyway here's the main point i'm getting to as to why you shouldn't go here to sell: they lowball you like crazy.. i mean they REALLY lowball you.. from what they were interested in from me i calculated to be about $870 worth of stuff ranging from multiple button-ups, t-shirts, hats, etc.. and one of the items being a $250 nixon watch. mind you all this stuff is in GREAT practically new condition... they ended up offering me $50... i was honestly shocked. i was expecting at least a $180 offer.. and i even would have been hesitant on accepting that. anyway bottom line, NOT the place you wanna go if you're selling clothes you know are worth a lot of money.. more the kinda place you wanna go to if you wanna make a quick buck by selling some stuff you absolutely don't want anymore and will take whatever you can get for it. HOWEVER, I'd definitely go back to buy... they had some pretty nice name brand stuff for cheap.. honestly i feel the way this company stays alive is by feeding off of gullible people selling clothes that they don't know are worth 20 times what they are offering then turn around and sell it for a really low price -so from a buyers aspect.. i'm all for it haha. saw a couple things i probably would've bought if i had had more money on me while i was in there. mens selection is definitely a lot smaller compared to the girl's though. While they have a huge selection, I feel that their prices are high for second hand. Also, not worth it if you are selling items to them. They give you next to nothing for what you are selling, no matter the brand item. read more
