My association with Kathy is almost a decade long! She first taught my daughter when she was in…read morehigh School and then my son through his high school years. She is thorough and methodical in her approach and able to harness an individual's talent and interest and channel it into something quite extraordinary. Kathy cares about her students and her knowledge and passion for music is apparent from the first time you connect with her. She took the time to understand the goals and aspirations of both my children and always coached and provided thoughtful and actionable feedback to help them improve their vocal range, tone, control and technique. She is an inspiring teacher who genuinely cares about her students and goes the extra mile to support and encourage her students. During the four years under her training for classical vocals and musical theater, my son matured from a young child to a bass-baritone, performing regularly at school and external events. He's now a sophomore in college and is continuing to take voice lessons there and is also a part of the University choir. More recently, my daughter, now 24 years old - who took lessons from her as a high student (and is now graduated from college and an adult) - began taking voice lessons from Kathy again for the past year and it's been a pure joy to know that she is in good hands. My daughter is currently in Berlin, Germany, but Kathy has made the time to help her with her lessons at a time that is convenient and effective for both to have meaningful lessons even though they are separated by thousands of miles and nine hours apart! I am sure when my daughter decides to go back for her Masters, she will continue her vocal journey and be a vibrant participant in the music community of whichever University she joins. The greatest gift she has given to my children is the love for music and performance for which I am most grateful. I highly recommend Kathy Ludowise to anyone who is seeking a vocal coach - no matter what level of previous experience. Her talent, passion and knowledge makes Kathy a wonderful vocal instructor who truly cares about her students and their goals. You'll be in good hands with her.

I can't say enough about Nichole and her skills as a voice instructor. She is a highly trained…read moreprofessional with years of classical experience. As more or less a beginner singer the thought of working with a professional opera singer who performs in musicals was a bit intimidating. But I was presently surprised at how willing, interested, and 110% capable she is working with skill sets of all levels. For me, as a beginner, Nicole's lessons include a progressive set of warmups which are great at teaching you how to sing legato (smooth and connected!) and how to breath and provide the support your voice needs to sing well. From there she allows me to pick the music I'd like to sing and works on it song by song applying the learned techniques as I go. It's been amazing so far in just a few short weeks (with some practice) I'm singing 100% better already. Best of all I finally understand the mechanics and techniques I need to continue working on to improve. If you're a more advanced singer she'd likely take a different approach to adapt to your needs no doubt. Just a few things I really appreciate with Nicoles teaching techniques and I think you will too: 1. She learns what works for 'you' and provides technical training using techniques that are personalized for you to understand (for me I'm very visual so she gives me visual queues a lot). 2. She gives you just the right amount of instruction in a lesson and suggest you record it. Do this! And listen back when you practice in between lessons it makes a huge difference! Those recording will turn into a library of lessons I'll carry with me forever they are excellent. 3. She teaches in a way that builds upon the foundation you create for yourself every week. Every week my breathing, legato, range, get just a little bit better. Week by week. 4. She can focus on super specific areas of a song (i.e. down to a word and vowel you're singing) that you can improve on. And invokes specific techniques to help you improve. 5. She has AMAZING hearing! She can detect issues with the most seemingly subtle nuances of your voice. You'll hear them too not always during the class but when you listen back to you recordings. Nichole is also fun to work and has good stories, Is mindful of your time with her so you get solid value, and she's very positive overall even when you're not having a good day.. I wish I found Nicole years ago she is great! Can't wait to keep these lessons going and improving along the way!

You get the whole package with Nicole. I worked with Nicole as a Stage Manager and got to see her work as a professional leading actress and vocalist. As an actor myself (BA Musical Theatre), I can assert that she is a skilled performer- engaging and convincing, even while singing the entire show in Italian! Behind the scenes she was always supportive, patient and gracious, and exactly the type of person you would want working with a young singer. Her understanding of acting in addition to extensive vocal training gives her the unique capacity to provide her students with emotive direction and shape to a narrative in the pieces they perform- in other words, the people who work with her are not only capable of being great singers, but also being great performers, like she is.
