Thank you Jaymee for helping me re-discover my joy of singing!! After only a handful of lessons I have walked away with so much of her knowledge of singing. Jaymee has taught me many helpful warmups and techniques for classical training, belting, low notes, high notes, speak-singing, etc. She has made her studio a relaxing place where I feel comfortable with being loud and where I can practice those high notes and new tones without any fear of judgment or interference from the outside world. Our daughter has had other vocal coaches with varying degrees of success. However, since seeing Jayme for the past 2-3 months we can see that she is a cut above all the other instructors. Update 9/22: the owner has now changed their response to this review at least 10 times. If she spent as much time trying to spin this bad review as she had spent trying to be kind and accommodating when I first reached out her, she wouldn't have to do all this gymnastics to make herself look good. What a fake person. Instead of just owning whatever was going on with her that day to make her treat me so badly, she lies over and over again. Steer clear of this egomaniac. Updated 2/4: the owner has changed their response to this review several times - changing from the first review which was highly aggressive and revealed personal health information about me and banning me from the studio to the current iteration which is more thoughtful and reasonable. While I appreciate that she has obviously learned the error of her ways, I wish she had been as generous, calm and understanding in real time as she appears in the response below. I also wish her the best of luck but hope she truly has learned her lesson of being clear and compassionate in her communication so it doesn't come back around again. I called Atlas this past Friday morning because I was interested in booking a session. I expected to speak with someone but nobody picked up - fine. I left a nice vm with my contact info. I get a call Saturday morning from the owner - she asks one or two questions about me, talking over my answers and suggesting I was tone deaf (?) but she seemed nice enough so fine. She said she would book me for Tuesday nig and send a paypal request for the full amount of the session $120. This was at 11 am on Saturday. I set out to do my errands and planned to discuss it with my husband that night. At 3 pm I got a text from the owner saying that if I did not pay in full by Sunday they would release my session. I was surprised to hear from her so quickly but I understand wanting to keep a schedule so I texted back saying that I understood. She texted back immediately saying she didn't understand what I meant. I told her that I wasn't expecting to hear back so quickly and I needed a little bit more time to confirm - this was three hours after we originally spoke. I thought it was a little harsh but wet along with my errands. I got another text at 6 PM stating that if I did not pay the full $120 by tomorrow they would cancel the appointment. Since they had already told me this information I said OK. She then responded that they were canceling the appointment and I would not be welcome at the studio going forward. TL DR: The owner was rude, demanding and unreasonable, asking for full payment immediately after booking and harassing me before canceling the session 4 hours after initial booking. She thinks the world revolves around her! Very disappointed. read more

My two daughters, ages 12 and 8 have been doing voice lessons at Stage Presence for over a year. They both love their weekly lessons and they have shown continued improvements in technique and confidence. My oldest has her lessons with Jaymee and is thriving - Jaymee encourages her love of music, she has been great about helping her work on her vocal technique, on accompanying herself on piano and ukelele and has even worked with her on her songwriting. My youngest does her lessons with Nicole and loves every minute! She looks forward to her lessons every week and has come so far in the last year in her confidence in performing! I have been very impressed with how Stage Presence has handled the pandemic - they switched to virtual lessons and these continue to be high quality every week. For my 9-year old son, I was looking for someone who works with younger kids (most vocal coaches start with teens), who focuses on growing confidence through voice tools and techniques, who honors each person at his or her own pace, and who had the flexibility to try a set of lessons vs require a long-term commitment. I was also looking for a small group opportunity and ideally someone with children's musical theater knowledge. Of course, budget, location, time of lesson are also considerations because our family has a lot of moving parts!! I met Jaymee when our sons were in a children's musical theater show together this past summer. She is herself a musical theater alum with a business focused on supporting young children to find their voices. My son loves being in theater - and is a naturally quiet introvert who was "embarrassed" to hear his voice. In just a few short lessons, he has learned about his natural voice, worked on his next audition song and is open to singing more songs than he would have ever entertained. (In a telling sign of his growing confidence, he shared with me that he put together a 'talent show' at school during recess where he and other kids sing.) Jaymee has been very patient and responsive, able to see my son's initial vulnerability, and has coaxed him along with lots of praise and humor. Jaymee is kind, fun and instructive. The kids are learning more than they know. She runs a group class, too, to supplement the individual lessons; my son loves the group lesson. Jaymee's business is getting very busy as word of mouth spreads that here is a person who excels at working with children, has musical theater know-how and is an accomplished vocalist in her own right. For the time/budget/location-minded: Her studio is in Los Gatos. Jayme was flexible to give my son 30-minute lessons versus the typical 45 minutes, which was just too long for him personally. We needed a specific focus over a two-month period, and she was highly flexible to provide that versus a long contract. Her rates, too, are half of what other vocal coaches charge in this area. I'm still shocked by what happened to me and my daughter today with Jaymee. My daughter recently started lessons and wanted to quit. We went to the lesson, had a talk with Jaymee, during which my daughter couldn't look her in the face and started crying. She looked scared. I told Jaymee we will not continue. She said the agreement states I need to pay her through end of April. On the way home my daughter continued crying explaining that Jaymee did not teach her ANYTHING. When we arrived home I texted Jaymee and expressed my opinion that her policy of payments does not make sense. I did not say I won't pay her. I received a verbally violent response that I have not received in my LIFE. In the end of those long texts she said I'm banned from her studio. Jaymee's teaching is unprofessional, her studio (her apartment) is not even clean, her language is a disgrace and she cares only about herself with no empathy for others. Stay away from Atlas vocal Studio!!! read more

My daughter has only had 2 vocal lessons, 2 rehearsals, and one concert event with Jaymee but already we both feel like we've been with the vocal family for months.
