However, both Teacher Sue and another online instructor kept encouraging me. Even when I had to pause my lessons for a while due to a busy work schedule, they remained very supportive. Personally, I've been taking lessons in both Voice and Piano with Ms Sue for 7 months now, and I cannot believe how far I've come in that short span of time. I've taken lessons and classes in all sorts of different arts over the years, from Acting to Jiu Jitsu to even other music schools, and I can confidently say that Sue is that special kind of teacher you only see once in a blue moon. In your lessons, it'll feel almost like you're the only student she has because the curriculum will be tailored directly to your experience, needs, and difficulties. At no point did anything feel like we were just running through standardized lessons or like we were wasting time until the lesson was up. Each and every lesson felt like she would meet you exactly where you were at, find the best path forward to keep you growing and learning, and show you exactly what you needed to do to get there. This is the first time I gave bad reviews. I don't like criticizing on reviews because it will hurt other people's business. However I think it's really necessary for me to do it this time. During the trial class Sue was very nice and professional. My kid likes her teaching style. We decided to learn from her. By the end of trial class, she agreed to find a fixed schedule together when we left. I emailed and called her couple times to follow up with the schedule but no response. I was told by her staff, she went traveling. I waited a week until she come back. She texted me saying she would call me next day at 11:00am. She still did not call me back. I thought she forgot and called her at 1:00pm next day. She said she was in the class and would call me after finish. I waited and waited. No calls from her the whole day and no response in Email and phone. I realized she was avoiding communicating with me. I first time feeling disappointed with a teacher that is not trustworthy. I was nice to her throughout the time. She should let me know if her time not fit or she is not willing to teach my son or other reasons. It wastes me a lot of time. She is the owner of business. I hope she can improve on communications with customers. Not responding is not a good practice in business. I found her on yelp so I should let other people know my experience. read more

Hi Yelp friends, The most impressive part of her teaching is, Sue can figure it out right away how to make your singing sounds "clear and bright" as a pro after hearing your voice!! First of all I would like to thank Sue for teaching me to play piano. I took many lessons from many teachers when I was a kid but none of them were as passionate and as great a teacher as Sue. Despite that she looks young she is a very experienced music teacher. I think what she really stands out from other teachers is that she is exceptionally good at giving you unique personalized music lessons that cater to your needs while having fun at the same time. She's really friendly yet professional and can pin point what area of voice I need to improve on and what types of practice I need to get there. Sue is a fantastic teacher. I learned so much from just one class even without realizing it. She gives you enough knowledge to allow you to connect the dots yourself, and lets you experience that aha-moment, when you figure out how the different elements of music theory come together. She also has the ability to fluently write sheet music for any tune, and get everything, the measures and even the pauses, totally right. To actually see someone do this in real-time is awe-inspiring. Finally, Sue appears to love music and teaching, and it shows in how beautifully she plays, and the delight she takes with every little progress you make. I'm actually able to read the notes as I play, and at a pretty healthy speed. Sue taught me how to position my hands and fingers so they don't fatigue when I practice. Sue is an absolutely amazing vocal coach. She knows what she's doing and she makes sure you get the most out of every minute you pat her for. After just the 1st lesson with her, I had made more progress than I expected to in weeks! She has a very laidback and enthusiastic personality that makes it easy to feel comfortable singing, even if you're normally petrified about singing in front of other people (like me). I'm singing with an energy and hitting notes I never would have thought I could, and it feels really great. I have been (for three months) and currently am taking Sue's vocal lessons, and what I find really great about them is that I get something new out of every class that I attend. She clearly points out my weakness and techniques to practice so I can apply them at home. I have seen rapid growth of my singing before and after taking her lessons. I can guarantee the fruitfulness of her lessons such as singing without running out of air, emphasizing on the right beats, expanding vocal range, catching specific rhythms, adding layers to songs, using the suitable voice (nasal, chest, head...etc) for different notes, and so much more that I can go on.
