Lucky for me, the radiology group at Abington hospital was able to get me in 1 day later because I was a basket case on the phone. I can not speak more highly about Dr. Woodfield, the radiologist who did my biopsy. She was so kind and caring and totally understood my anxiety and took so much time to describe to me what will happen and talked me though the whole procedure. Dr. Woodfield and her assistant kept asking me how I was doing and if I needed a break. So thoughtful and caring. When you go there, you check in with the reception front desk and fill out a few forms. The typical forms that you would fill out at a doctors office for the first time. Then you wait for them to call your name. Then you go back and change into hospital gown and to the back where the biopsy will be done. I felt so at ease when I first met Dr. Woodfield. And the best part, the biopsy was not cancer. I wasn't given the option to request which doctor that would do the biopsy, but I lucked out.

Instead of doing the right thing, they damaged the life of a patient. Jefferson Health - Abington antagonized and ultimately fired my husband for defending this patient. He exhausted every level of Jefferson management and executive offices to report the incident and protect the patient. Instead, Jefferson allowed the patient to be charged criminally with assault of the officer who assaulted her. Instead, Jefferson did not report this as a serious safety event. The woman in radiologist snapped back after I mentioned that I received a 2D instead of 3D. She said "all our test are 3D". There website states 2D and 3D mammograms but the sweet part was that at the bottom of report said...2D! Now they want a diagnostic screening after trying to read a 2D up against a 3D. The radiologist can't report an image if it had sticky notes attached to it. I never experience a mammogram and ultrasound done in 15 minutes each. If you got test at this facility go get a second opinion don't trust their findings.

I asked if my doctor's office sent the request electronically and what happened. Was told there was a "small computer crash/glitch" - what?! Left at 9:35. There were at least 10 people still in the waiting room when I was leaving, many with 8:55 and 9:00 am appts (we were all appalled at the lack of communication here, as no one updated the patients on anything). We all had appointments- 4 walk -ins left when they saw the crowded room. I will go to ANY Labcorp in the future except for this one. Disgracefully run, especially for a healthcare facility.
