We dropped off our boat on the Saturday of the Victoria Day long weekend. We went in and explained what was wrong with our boat to the gentleman behind the desk. My husband also wanted to have a foot throttle installed, so we ordered that as well. At first impression, he was really nice. Seemed to know his stuff, and told us upfront that since they were so busy, it would probably be 1-2 weeks before they could even look at it. We said "no problem", and went home. About 2 weeks later, I phoned them to see if they had started to take a look at it. They said that a few days after we had dropped it off, they phoned my husband to let him know that the stator in the boat was the problem. My husband gave them the go ahead to order the part when they had phoned him (my husband forgot to tell me this). They said that the part would be there in a few days. On JUNE 21st I phoned them again for an update. After being on hold for a length of time, the guy came back on the phone and said "You're the 4th person down on the list to have their boat fixed. We're ready to work on it but we have to go down the list in order. If you were hoping to have it this weekend, it's probably not going to happen, but I'm confident that you will have it by next weekend for sure." Considering we didn't need it that weekend, I was happy to hear this. All we wanted, was to have it for the following weekend for the fireworks on Crowe Lake for Canada Day Weekend, so that worked for us. On Tuesday, June 26th I called for another update. The lady who answered the phone put me on a lengthy hold, to come back and say "we are still waiting for a cable to come in for your foot throttle. We should have the part by Thursday, and worst case scenario Friday." Now I'm starting to worry. I phoned back on Thursday, June 28th, and the guy that answered the phone was not polite at all. I told him what was going on, and he asked me "Is your boat currently here with us?" I said yes, that's why I'm phoning... his response was "Well you can't expect me to keep track of every single boat that's here." I then asked him if they had even fixed the stator for the boat. If the stator was fixed, we would come and pick up the boat, and we'll come and pick up the parts for the foot throttle when they arrive and do it ourselves. After another lengthy hold, he came back and told me "We're still waiting on special parts for the stator to arrive. They're not here yet." Now I'm pissed. I have been told 3 different stories. Not to mention, we dropped off the boat May 24 weekend, and a few days later they apparently ordered the part. The fact that they tried telling me that they were waiting on "special parts" is bullshit. The stator is 1 unit. On Saturday, June 30th, my husband went to go and get the boat. When he walked in, he said "I'm here to pick up my boat". Their response was "Well we're still waiting on special order parts for your boat". Husband: "Not my problem. You've had it for over a month and haven't touched it. You lied to my wife 3 times about the status of the boat." To which the guy said "Nobody lied to your wife." Husband: "Listen, I no longer trust you to guys to work on my boat anymore." Here's the kicker... the guy behind the counter's exact words were "THEN TAKE YOUR F**KING BOAT AND GET THE F**K OUT OF HERE". NO PROBLEM. Also, my brother and brother-in-law were there on Saturday, June 30th when my husband was picking up the boat, so please (Upper Canada Marine) don't come back and reply to this review saying this is all bullshit. We have witnesses. P.S. I ordered a stator online for 300 bucks, and it ships in 3-4 business days. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but clearly this local business is not in the business of supporting local customers. read more
