Introduction:
It never comes to my mind how important was my choice to purchase the supplemental insurance as to support my medicare insurance, so I elected UPMC for Life where all was in the one place a there were so many facilities in Pittsburgh area and so many "best" hospitals in any part of the city. So I got hooked-up. I had their hernia surgery, and next year I was diagnosed with Pulmonary embolism later, but I did not realize that to have all eggs in one basket was not a good idea and it started very soon and entirely brutal in September and October 2014. As 74 years of age, I still managed and maintain 32 apartments units which I retain for my old times and to do this I had to be quite healthy, so morning exercise was the best tool and economical to do it. Once on the morning of July and August 2014, I noticed miner pain in my neck during the dip rotation of my head, so I decided to investigate. My PCP doctor did not respond, and my Gastroenterologist four days later, sends me to x-ray and the letter after follow. You have some degeneration in your neck spine and think this may be where your pain is coming from.
I new Dr. Beigi from the seventies when he healed my engineering ulcers, so I went to see doctor David Shakir Zorub in Beigi recommendation which happens to be a critical mistake. He was a neurosurgeon, and I didn't know match at this time.
Time schedule:
I see Dr. Zorub on September 15, 2014, at the 15/20 minutes meeting and he told me your problem is not the problem at all, and I can quickly fix it. When you come back from your business trip in Europe, just get me the call.
I call back a few days after my return at 9/29 and Nurse call me back with my appointment for MRI on 10/4/2014 and 10/10 after 4 PM above the need of my surgery on 10/16 and presurgery testing on 10/15/2014. I saw Dr. Zorub second time just before the anesthesia, and he didn't say anything only draw lines for insition on my neck and left.
When week than two weeks after the surgery healing was going nowhere for this small stuff, I started asking a questions, but nobody tells me anything just surgeon that "all is normal." But is not normal after three years!
When four months later nothing change and my eyes had bruises around when I wake-up, my wife took me to the emergency into the Presbyterian hospital. I was admitted. Next day I was informed of a need for second surgery with a double length of insition and a double number of screws. I realized six screws since somebody told me before I have three screws in my neck. On third-day, they roll me to the surgery room, and when surgeon shows up he said he wouldn't operate since he is not confident to help me with my pain and following day I was drugged and sent home. After this, and when I learn about the existence of the PHI (protected health information), I started requesting those records, and I find out I had five screws in my neck and plate which was connecting C4 through C7 of my neck vertebrae. From my mechanical engineering practice, it was instantly apparent that such arrangement can't solve anything even if such surgery would be must since the accident, cancer or some other catastrophic occurrence. The created lever will undoubtedly overload the disk and entire area under the C7 vertebrae. Then you can be sure that if life biomaterial is overloaded there can't be healing.
Of course, if you keep your head straight-up all is OK but from a particular angle of the head, the movement starts overloading the area, therefore, all becoming cyclical. Healing and destruction.
When I realized the reality of the situation, I asked for more information, and I started understanding the scope of the surgery, its need and how all was prepared to justify this procedure.
First I started to learn from Dr. Zorub recorded statement in my PHI records and then I look outside for me available literature.
Lies and Fabrication:
From my first and the only appointment to see Dr. David Zorub before the surgery on September 15, 2014, doctor created 13 deceptions on three pages of my PHI records ending at the date of the operation. He doesn't realize that his entries are in direct conflict with previous histories of my PHI folder deposited by other doctors from January first, 2014 until I saw Dr. Zorub on September 15, 2014.
Those records started with :
He complains of a 2 - 3 year history of progressively worsening neck "stiffness" ...... he has tried a variety of more conservative treatment methods ..... he has great difficulty with the rotation of his head. Long lists of fabrication ended with "After extensive discussion with Dr. Zorub, he has elected to undergo surgical intervention. He never answers my question when where this extensive discussion happen and where is the record of such important discussion?
From that dais of discovery, I started long way of frustration and disappointments which don't end even after three years of history to try only to change the PHI record to read more
