We knew my husband wanted a Maple Old Fashioned, but all I knew was that I wanted a gin drink that wasn't a typical lemon and honey, and that I like fruit mixes and brambles. James rose to the occasion by making a custom gin bramble with a blackberry and honey syrup (that he made by hand by boiling blackberries down to a reduction). I'm not even a big drinker, but I must say I literally drank at least 8 of "The Honey". The coffee bar was also a massive hit and I had a fantastic latte! Their team was wonderful and I would work with them again anytime.

Unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly overshadowed by the numerous restrictions and limitations that made planning and executing the event far more difficult than we had anticipated. We fully understand that every venue has rules and policies that must be respected. However, the limitations imposed were far more restrictive than expected and made it difficult for us to provide the experience we had envisioned for our guests. Throughout the planning process and during the event itself, it became clear that there were many operational restrictions that were not disclosed prior to signing the contract. These restrictions were only communicated after we had already made our deposits. While we understand the importance of venue policies, greater transparency from the beginning--or a more flexible approach--would have allowed us to make better-informed decisions and avoid unnecessary stress. We expected to work with a team that would collaborate with us to ensure the event ran smoothly. Instead, we were consistently met with numerous restrictions that significantly limited our ability to deliver the event we had planned. Some of the restrictions we encountered included the prohibition of indoor cold sparklers, dry ice effects, and even a custom dance floor decal in the center of the dance floor. We were also not permitted to install any decorations on the ceiling or walls. Additionally, we were required to keep the music at a very low volume. We were specifically told that if the volume was increased, the event would be stopped. This warning was delivered by the venue administrator who was overseeing the event. Unfortunately, the administrator's attitude throughout the event was disappointing. She was uncooperative, appeared visibly annoyed at all times, and interacted with us in a manner that made us feel as though she was doing us a favor by allowing us to use the venue, rather than recognizing that we had paid a significant amount to rent the facility. Her demeanor was unprofessional and detracted from what should have been a joyful and memorable celebration.

I had a dozen bridesmaids, and we were very comfortable getting ready in the spacious bridal suite. We loved having a separate groom's cabin for the guys. They keep the grounds maintained, and the inside very clean. There are so many perfect photo opportunities including the fireplace and lawn where we had cocktail hour and the grand staircase outside. It was very easy to work with the Arlo staff; I mainly worked with Jeannie and Melonie, but everyone I communicated with was very professional. Our final walkthrough meeting went very smoothly. I would recommend this venue to all couples getting married in Austin.

I had a lot of guests from outside of Texas, so I wanted to give them an authentic Texas Hill Country experience while still reflecting my modern tastes. I chose to have both my ceremony and dinner in the beautiful Great Room to avoid the Texas heat, which was a decision both my guests and I appreciated! Dancing was in the barn, and there was a nice breeze flowing through the doors that kept the space cool. The reason I first fell in love with this venue is that it feels like a home rather than an "event space." The on-site bride and groom's suites were so convenient and comfortable, and my guests enjoyed having so many options to explore between the great room, the upstairs and downstairs patios, the lawn, and the barn. I love this venue so much, I chose to hold my rehearsal dinner and a post-wedding Sunday brunch there as well! April was so incredibly kind and helpful both before the wedding (which was a long period of time - I booked way back in December 2015!) as well as at all three of my events. She truly cares about the people she hosts, and goes above and beyond to make sure your event is exactly the way you want it. I'd be worried about having it in the winter of summer because of the set up but what really forces us to go another direction is there is a lot of restrictions with vendors. You are presented with a list of vendors you must use. The asterisks indicate which vendors are not up for discussion. The ones that are not with an asterisk are still required but if you stray from that list she must personally interview that vendor and each person must have a million dollar insurance policy. As a person who has no family in town and planning everything by ourselves we just didn't have the time to devote to some of those rules. We didn't really get to talk about much else as we spent so long talking about the rules and importance of the liability insurance that there wasn't time to talk about much else. The space was pretty, It was set us an open air venue that can be closed off with glass. Basically a blank canvas because it would be all glass. Off ot the side there is a big tree with a wooden dance floor that had christmas twinkly lights wrapped around the tree. Seemed it would be lovely. Especially for a couple that plans to wed and have reception there... equipped with rooms for the groomsmen (a ground floor location near the pool with tv and videogames and bridesmaids (which was upstairs.. dangerous for heels but very cute modern space) For our needs, just needing a reception space it was just not for us. Also, I mentioned that I knew a previous bride that wed there..and as she recalled her she said, "oh the plus size bride"... OMG I would die if anyone only remembered me as the PLUS SIZE BRIDE. I just wanted to be remembered as a beautiful bride.. size need not be noted.... thank you. For other brides out there.. it is a very beautiful space.. prices are reasonable based on your total number of guests! dont rule it out till you see it. Just because it wasn't for me.. doesn't meant it wont be for you!

The venue was lovely aesthetically, however, left a lot to be desired, mostly for those with any mobility issues. The river stones in the reception area made every step difficult, and I didn't' wear heals. The stone dance floor was a bit treacherous also. The chairs were either to low, or sank into the river stone, making it difficult to get out of the chairs. Many steps in and out of the house where the restroom was located, also not ADA friendly. Not sure if there was a place for the bride and groom to dress, but the house was so small I can't imagine there was a room for that.Other wise, the grounds were beautiful.

They showed us the inside and the owner mentioned we could use the tables inside for our cakes, gifts, etc but we weren't allowed to move any of her decor. It's because it is their home that they are living in! The groom quarters is there sons old room full of junk. And in the kitchen area there was a large bowl filled with old mail and moldy bread! That is the last thing I was my guests seeing at a wedding. The Vermont chairs were also very low and narrow so it would be difficult for any tall or wider guests. Wish we could have used this venue
