They charge your insurance under their PT but in reality when you go, you will only receive 15min ish massage from some random Chinese dude from Flushing. Bought a Groupon for two massages and I was pleasantly surprised. As its name mentions, this is more of a physical therapy place than it is a massage place. So don't expect soft lights, aromatic oils or candles. This is a no frills, no thrills, get your back/muscles back to the way it should be type of place. For the massage, you get to keep all your clothes on (which wasn't really clear but thank goodness I did strip down because that would have been embarrassing). They know all the pain points and can feel what needs work. There were parts of my back they worked on that I didn't even know needed work, but I felt so much better afterwards. (I think Steven was my therapist). This place is a bit out of the way for me but the massage was great- so much so that I may consider ditching the closer massage spot near my place. Plus they have a special here -$300 something for 10 massages! read more

I had a bad and upsetting experience with my 1st visit to Upbeat Physical Therapy PC. When I booked my appointment, Mason, the receptionist, asked me to send the photos of my insurance card via text message to him. Then he would check the coverage for me. He replied to me that my insurance covered the PT treatment and I would not have to pay out-of-pocket. He also told me that they have 2 parking spots in the parking lot across the street. Those parking spots are for their staff, but I can use them temporarily. The day when I arrived at the parking lot, both parking spots were taken. I called Mason about that. He told me that I would have to find a parking space on the street. I drove around for 45 minutes and couldn't find one. I drove back to the parking lot and waited for their staff to leave. The whole process took over an hour. When I finally got to their office, Jane, the Office Manager, told me that my insurance would not cover the treatment. I was so pissed off that I was given the wrong information. Then Jane took me straight to see the massage therapist. It was my 1st treatment, and their staff told me that I would see the Physical Therapist first. He would let me know that kind of treatment for my condition. But Jane told me that he had already gone for the day at 4:00 pm. (Their office hour is 10:00 am-7:00 pm). Since I refused to start the treatment without speaking to the PT, she called the PT and let him speak to me on the phone. I explained my condition to him and hoped that he would instruct the massage therapist on what to do with my case. To my disappointment, the massage therapist worked everywhere on my body except my body parts that had pain and problems. I told him that I didn't have Sciatica. He spent most of the time massaging my butts. I found it very uncomfortable and ridiculous. When his alarm clock took off after 20 minutes, he told me that it was done. It is ridiculous. I have had over 70 PT treatments in the past years. In every PT clinic that I went to, each session was 45 minutes to 1 hour. The PT assistant normally started by putting electrical patches on me. This treatment took around 15 minutes. Then the Physical therapist would work by hand on my body parts that had pain for 15 to 20 minutes. Then the PT would teach me the exercises to strengthen my muscles. When I complained to Jane about the treatment that I received. She told me that she could put the electrical patches on me. When she put 8 patches on one side of my leg, I knew right away that she didn't know what she was doing. Of course, she doesn't. She works in billing and not as a PT assistant. When I questioned her about the position of the patches that she put on my leg, she replied that she didn't know where to put them. I jumped off the bed as quickly as possible. The whole process of my treatment was a joke. They are so unprofessional and ridiculous that I would not call it a Physical Therapy Clinic. They are just a massage shop. It was a waste of my time with no good effect from the treatment (3 hours not including the commute time). It was a total disappointment. I would not go back again. I also would not recommend anyone to go there. read more

This business couldn't be any more convenient for me and my family as they are located close to home. Jonathan and Michael are also incredibly nice and welcoming. My mom suffers from sever shoulder/back and knee injuries. She has also been staying with us more since my son was born a year ago. Carrying around a 25 lb baby around day after day definitely does not help alleviate any of my family's pains. As such, we actually take turns so that we can all go downstairs for an hour and half of relief! Michael's massage therapy skills are truly incredible as he works his magic to find out exactly which muscle exactly is in pain. I was suffering from neck & shoulder pain which is why I can't sleep, I can't work properly. Today I have visited this place which is run by Chinese professional therapists. The place is amazing & staff was nice. On 1st day I got may be more then 80% relief from my pain. I have used other few massages but the professional therapy I got here. My back has been hurting due to I'm assuming a mix of work and rock climbing. I went here today without any expectations but this visit turned out to be exactly what I needed. Dr. Michael was my PT, he knew where the pain was without me saying anything at all. He examined my spine and determined from there. The massage started light but more pressure was added later on. Note that I love deep massages and I usually ask for more pressure. This time around i didn't ask although I was tempted to because I trusted he knew what he was doing upon evaluating my spine. I definitely would go back and even considering of buying the 10 package. Note however that this massage is done on full clothing so keep that in mind, also if you want cupping after, ask for it. read more

I recommend this place because they know what they are doing, and they are located close to me. My experience with PT clinics is they treat their patients like in an assembly line. Jonathan and michael care about their patients, and remember what they worked on . The techniques are non traditional (A lot of stretching) which is very important. I truly am in disbelief by how quickly I healed seeing Jonathan and Michael. I threw my back out 40+ weeks pregnant, and going through delivery made it even worse. I literally couldn't walk and no matter what I tried weeks went by with the pain the same /worse. Thankfully I found Upbeat. Both Jonathan and Michael were so nice and listened to what I was experiencing. To be honest after first session I didn't see much improvement and was left skeptical. But I went back and saw insane improvement after the second session. Michael was able to pinpoint exactly where my back was misaligned and did magic to make it better. I only went 4 times in total and my back is completely back to normal. Today was the true test as I tried running again for the first time and no pain!!! I love supporting local businesses so when this new physical therapy place opened I had to check it out. Jonathan and Michael were super warm and welcoming. During my first visit they spent extra time to determine where my pain points were. Jonathan usually starts the session with ultrasound therapy, stretching, and then EMS. Afterwards, Michael the massage therapist worked on my problem areas. Let me tell you. Michael is super. I have many massages before and he is definitely one of the best. During our sessions I always felt that he relieved a lot of the muscle tensions. I will continue to come here and definitely recommend this place! read more
