Little lady needed a nail trim, so I figured I'd take her to Unleashed Retreat, since they are just steps away from where I live. I showed up with no appointment, Nicole at the front desk created a customer profile for us, I dropped her off, and I received a call less than 30' after that saying that Monaco was ready. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they painted her nails, and put a matching bow on her. What a nice touch! Now I will definitely have to try their boarding services next time I leave town. We used to LOVE unleashed retreat, but I would never trust my dog there anymore. I would rate it a 0 at this point if I could. The staff has completely changed, and they are terrible. Our last straw was last week when we dropped our dog off around 9am. When I dropped him off, he was immediately scared when he saw the new lady behind the desk, which was a red flag for me as he has been coming here for almost a year. So I immediately checked the cameras, and all of the dogs were in the crates, which is not supposed to be happening at that time of the morning. I continuously checked the cameras every 10 minutes for the next almost 2 hours, and all of the dogs remained in the crates until 10:30am. I took screenshots of the cameras with the timestamps because it was absolutely unacceptable. There were no workers cleaning the areas during this time, tending to the dogs, etc, but in the screenshots, you can see a young male worker sitting on one of the dog toys in the middle of the playroom on his phone. For an hour and a half!! The dogs then went back in their crates around 11:15am, and didn't come back until past 2:00pm!!!! It was unbelievable and sad for the dogs. I immediately went and picked my dog up around 2:30pm as I did not feel comfortable leaving him in their care. I assume that the owner does not know what is going on with these new workers, as I don't think anyone would be okay with the things that are going on at Unleashed Retreat. I dropped my dog off at 9:00am picked him up around 2-3, that's almost 6 hours, and he was out of the crate for less than 2 hours of it!! Why am I paying for my dog to sit in a crate all day? I spoke to a lady at the park across the street whom I know had dogs that also went to unleashed retreat, and she immediately listed off the same concerns I had, and stated she no longer took her 2 dogs there for the same reasons. In addition, I myself have warned unleashed retreat in person about a month or 2 ago, about an extremely aggressive dog that they continue to have at their daycare. I was shocked when I saw this particular dog recently on their social media, as the dog has attacked so many dogs at the dog park across the street that it is banned from the park. Most recently, a dog had to have surgery for how vicious the attack was. I warned unleashed assuming they had no idea, and they acted shocked. Only to find out last week while talking to someone at the park, that the dog was at Unleashed Retreat last week and went after her dog leaving its nose cut!! It's completely irresponsible and a liability that that continue to put the rest of the dogs at the risk or an attack, even after being warned about it. Safe to say, we will not be returning to unleashed retreat ever again. Wag n world down the street is a night and day difference and is AMAZING. We absolutely hit the jackpot with Unleashed Retreat. Our two frenchies attend daycare with them every Monday and Wednesday, and are smooth worn out Tuesday and Thursday. The daycare is open play with separated big dog/small dog areas. We are lucky to be able to get pickup and dropoff service since we are located in the building which is truly wonderful on the hectic days I work in the office. We adore the owners and their staff is always so sweet, so we love not having to worry at all when they are in their care. Another perk is getting to see Louie and Zeus on webcams, the updates from staff throughout the day, and even a report card. One of our little guys is learning to control his excitement so we get honest updates every time about how he is doing with each handler and we appreciate that very much. If the Ritz Carlton had a dog hotel, this would be it! read more

So happy we have a boarding/daycare for dogs downtown. The staff is very friendly and the app makes it incredibly easy to maintain your dogs profile online, make reservations, pay the bill, see vet records, and watch your pet play on one of the 6 dog cams. I wish I could give it 5 stars but because it is only indoors with no outdoor access available for the dogs to do their business. My dog comes home with a bit of a smell after boarding for a couple of days. Granted, this is a limitation of being downtown and I am sensitive to that. The staff does keep the "business area " contained and cleaned up though and I really applaud their efforts. However, boarding isn't cheap and I have to take time to bathe the pooch after boarding. The other issue for me is that they aren't open at 6am for drop off so I have to use the competition for daycare. It's nearly impossible to drop off at 7 when I have to be at work by 6:30am. They are open until 7pm for pickup though, so that is a bonus. I would use them more often for daycare if they opened earlier. I hate that Yelp doesn't allow 4.5 stars because it really is better than 4 stars and my dog loves it there. read more
