Came in today because I came into town for an appt left my beloved dog home waiting for me.. so of course I need to find something for him for his Christmas present or presents!! The young lady working today was so nice and gave me great ideas.. she helped me get him a nice chew stick and to be honest I'm glad I didn't spend too much time here because I could have gone a little wild buying treats and goodies.. it's a great location and some really great stuff.. next time I'll have to really stay and take time and look at everything because they really have a lot to offer.. read more

Another Gem that has been added to our historic downtown. I live downtown with my puppies and yes they have me trained to walking straight to Unleashed for a treat.. We are such a dog friendly city that I hear most visitors feel they are in Europe where this is the norm.. I LUV it, my puppies Luv it, as well I enjoy hearing people say such a great idea.. Ok as for what they have in the store pretty much everything you would want, & if they don't have it there they will call the other stores and get it for you. All the girls are friendly as well as very knowledgeable about all the products which is so helpful especially since one of babies has allergies, while the other one is truly Scrappy Doo .... read more

Nice pet store for dogs and cats in downtown Wilmington. Good selection of pet food, toys, leashes and other supplies. The items here are not what you are going to find at a Wal-Mart or discount store. I am referring to the quality of the products. They are carrying higher end items including dog and cat food. So if you want Ol Roy or Alpo cheap ass dog food then don't stop here. You can sign up for their program where you get a free bag after so many purchases. We are not there enough to take advantage of this. Friendly and helpful staff. Apply Pay accepted which is a plus. It's downtown so just remember you are on your own for parking, which isn't terrible in Wilmington. read more

Short version: Unleashed is a nice locally owned/operated pet supply store. Friendly and positive staff and carefully selected items for placement in their stores (7 so far their website says including Raleigh, Cary, and Wilmington). I am a fan of their newest location near riverfront Wilmington, definitely give Unleashed a try. The Deets: When in Wilmington recently with our lil pup Emma, we came upon the newly opened location of Unleashed down near the riverfront (corner of Front and Market Streets). Within was a nice layout of pet accessories, chews, toys, food items, supplies, and just about anything else for your dog or cat to use or enjoy. The staff was extremely positive and helpful, and cared to talk to us about our lil pup as well as spend a little time giving her some attention (it was her first birthday!). Emma had a great time perusing the aisles and seeing what they had. Although not as expansive as say a PetSmart location, these guys have what appears to be carefully curated items for your dog or cat and a bit of a personal touch to go with it. The mission statement located on their website states "To provide the Best a Dog and Cat can get, at affordable prices, so that every dog and cat can be as happy and healthy as ours." I like this new location of Unleashed and wishing them the best in their new location in Wilmington! read more

All COVID rules are being followed, great little shop to check out, we brought in Hazel our mini schnauzer and she sniffed everything until she focused in on a squeaker toy, so we bought it for her, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, recommend this spot read more

We just moved to Wilmington and were worried we'd have to rely on ordering our French Bulldogs specialty food online. We had heard that Unleashed carried Stell & Chewy and decided to pop in to see what the selection was like. Low and behold they carried the *exact* food we give our pup (Stella & Chewy Raw Blend Kibble Free Range (with Elk, Goat & Lamb) Recipe Dry Dog Food for reference) for a great price. They also had a whole bunch of toys, treats, & other fun doggo stuff. They also carried a lot of other hard-to-find brands like Ziwi Peak and an assortment of raw frozen foods. If you have a dog with food allergies in the Wilmington area, this is the place to find food in person when you can't order online from a specialty dog store! read more

Love, love , love this local business at the heart of downtown? Admittedly, I refer to it usually as Meow Woof because of the awning instead of just Unleashed but we are frequent patrons. An absolutely wonderful selection of all things cat and dog (more dog but the cat section is great too!) Raw food, frozen meats in addition to the great assortment of kibble and wet foods. Since we recently found out my cat is gluten free, this is definitely our go-to spot for treats and nibbles which they have great range of grain free stuff so our Mischa is always happy trying out her new favorite GF treats and new foods. Also, a great selection of dress ups so our boy cat Melvin has all the snazziest bow ties in the world. The staff is always so friendly and they have free treat samples at the counter. Definitely a little local treasure to be supported. We give it all paws up! read more

Two young ladies in the shop were not helpful and beyond rude. Not to mention they both had their dogs in the store and not helping any of the customers there. The one lady had a very unfriendly Doberman behind the counter making it hard for my dad to place his treats on the counter without being afraid and the dog trying to take them since he kept jumping up. The other girl had a doodble on a leash just standing in the back of the room. The cashier gave my mom treats and said she could feed the dogs then got mad when she tried to feed the dobe. As much as I love to support the local business I will not be coming back. If you are going to bring your pets to work make sure they are friendly and you are still able to take care of the customers. read more

Love this place! We enjoyed a stop here on a long weekend trip to Wilmington. The downtown location is awesome. The employees are so kind and helpful and the selection for dogs and cats is wonderful. They have a plethora of healthy options and unique finds. We bought our baby lots of goodies--things we can't find at places like Petsmart.
