Zero stars actually- I'm really not a Karen- this was just a horrible experience. My Husband & I…read moreboth went in for cleanings with them knowing we were moving & this would be our only visit- both the students were super nice people- but our 'cleanings' we PAID for were anything but. I understand they need to practice to learn & everything- which I would be fine with if the expectation was set that we would actually have ZERO cleaning & if it were free- but we paid to be tortured for several hours & I received ZERO actual cleaning & he only got a small amount done on only one row of teeth & his was super painful with the machine & mine was because the only thing I got was her digging at my gums with a sharp tool the ENTIRE TIME- that's it!!! I was so shocked after that I didn't even have the capacity to discuss it at the time & that was such a huge waste of $ for seriously being tortured & getting no actual cleaning. 3 weeks later my gums still hurt. We will obviously never go back & I'm so beyond disappointed- just spend the $ on a cleaning at an actual dentist. They knew full well before hand we were moving & not able to go back for a second appointment (not that we even would after that!) so we needed to get done some sort of actual benefit that we paid for in that visit & I cannot believe how much we paid for only a painful & terrible experience. It's one thing to have students have to practice for free- but quite another to get nothing you PAY for & only pain & disappointment. My Husband had gone once before & must have gotten a student almost ready to graduate because it went fine then- but when I went with him it was simply appalling. Never again. I was seriously in shock & pain afterwards & with the pain & infection in my gums still this long after- cannot believe it.

I went for a cleaning to support a student in the learning process. As a medial professional it's…read moreimportant to give back to others learning. I love teaching although I am not in dental. The school is very well laid out, very clean and again as a medical professional I noticed the sterile technique was excellent! My student was very good, my experience was excellent. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is because I believe the school has an obligation to insure the students have patients to meet their objectives! I gathered from the waiting room that students had to find their own patients which is wrong, this school charges students a good chunk of change. Medical and Nursing students do not have to find their own patients and neither should a dental hygiene student. The school should be advertising and working with dental offices for student experiences vs students struggle to get patients. Any medical program is grueling as it is without the un-necessary stress of finding patients with various degrees of dental situations. The responsibility lies with school not the student. Hopefully they get that figured out as it doesn't reflect well for them.

When we found Telos, we were exhausted and overwhelmed. Our son had been through 3 programs in 18…read moremonths--two asked him to leave because they couldn't meet his needs. When he came home from the third, he simply wasn't ready; we were stuck in a cycle of fear, anxiety, and constant crisis. From the first admissions call, Telos felt different. Brooke wasn't trying to "sell" --she genuinely wanted to know if Telos was the right fit. That honesty and compassion set the tone for everything that followed. Telos was organized, communicative, and committed to helping our son. They supported us too, through family weekends, parent coaching, and connection with other families who understood what we were going through. As someone who worked in healthcare for 15 years, I was impressed by the clinical care. Dr. Palmer took time to understand our son and sort out months of inconsistent medication management. Michael Shomaker, kept us informed about even minor concerns. Their genuine care was obvious. When the first therapist wasn't the right fit, Telos handled it professionally--simply wanting to match our son with someone who could reach him. One of the founders, Tony Mosier, stepped in. He doesn't typically carry a caseload, but he saw a need and responded. Tony's ability to see through bravado, hold firm boundaries, and build trust was remarkable. He helped our son understand and accept his diagnoses, develop healthier coping skills, and begin to see things "from the other side of the mountain." Our son looked forward to their time together and rebuilt confidence through that relationship. Tony supported us as well, offering candid feedback and helping us rethink how to connect more effectively. It's rare to find a program that offers a school experience that feels 'normal'. Telos provided in‑class instruction--not just online work--which brought stability. Kevin Kuykendall sorted through messy transcripts - helping our son graduate early and be college‑ready. Teachers like Devon Lynch, Austin Stevenson, and Macie Cline are more than subject experts; they helped him believe in his ability to succeed. Staying active mattered too, and Telos made that possible through sports, neurofitness, and daily activities giving him healthy outlets and routine. Each visit reinforced our trust. The environment felt safe and open. Staff greeted students by name, high‑fiving in the hall--they clearly know the students well. Campus is clean and felt more like a small college than a treatment center. Our son proudly introduced us to one of his faves, Ms. Loza -- who treated him like her own. He also spoke highly of Hayley Bohr and his life coach, Phillip Sewart. Family days were full of hope, especially hearing staff share their own stories--many had struggled as teens themselves and chose this work because they want to help kids like ours. If I have one regret, it's not finding Telos sooner. At Telos my son was safe--not just physically but emotionally - held by people who genuinely cared. He didn't want to be there--what teenager does--but deep down, he knew it was good for him. He built relationships, better understood his challenges, and began shifting his rigid thinking. Even in the tearful goodbyes at the end of visits, I had complete confidence I was leaving him in a good place with good people. Our journey isn't over, but we're in a very different place now. He is home, working steadily, avoiding risky behaviors, building healthier friendships, and preparing for college. Telos was the village he needed--and the village our whole family needed. Telos isn't perfect. There were normal bumps along the way, as with any good school or program. They can't magically fix everything--no one can--but they walk beside you, treat your child like their own, and are dedicated to helping your kid find a path forward and your family find peace. It's a community of competent, caring professionals and owners who are personally involved in the day‑to‑day because it isn't a business--it's a calling - something they are truly passionate about: making a difference.
