Our son, now 3 years old and in the preschool class, has been at this KinderCare since he was 10 months old, and is really happy here. He plays outside, sings, reads, and does art projects daily. The quality of care and creative play activities is high - there is an educational curriculum, but the kids get plenty of time to play and explore, which is important at this age. They stick to a consistent schedule and teach great manners-- our son always asks "May I be excused?" at the dinner table now! Our 6 month-old daughter has been in the infant class for 3 months and seems very comfortable with the teachers, and well cared-for (diapers always changed, fed bottles on demand, held when upset, etc). The ratios are pretty standard for the industry, but the infant room always feels cozy and never chaotic when I enter it.
The teachers in each classroom communicate clearly about the kids' days and needs, and the teachers and administrators are remarkably open, flexible and responsive. For example: it's easy to bring kids in late, leave early, take vacations, change potty-training or feeding plans, etc -- they are always happy to work with us and consistently accommodating. From speaking with friends and family who use other childcare services, I know this isn't necessarily the norm.
When our son first started here several years ago, we had some initial concerns about teacher turnover (particularly with University students -- who make energetic teachers but can switch every semester) and also about the food provided (not as healthy as I would have liked). Over time, however, we have had the opportunity to provide feedback and it is clear that the administration actually listened. We are now very happy with the teachers and the food is higher quality (and our kid actually eats it! -- not having to pack lunches and snacks is a major timesaver, too). We would definitely recommend this KinderCare location to others. read more
