School material is ok. You can absolutely learn a lot here if you apply yourself. That does not change the fact that the school holds the students hostage and makes constant contradictory statements regarding their mission. The school states they are trying to mimic the industry however do nothing to curb blatant cheating and dishonest behavior from students, fail to remove students that are obviously under the influence of drugs, and require you to stay in the class for hours even though course work is completed. Instructors are solid but are forced to implement highly restrictive policy to enable students that have no business being in a shop to pass classes. An institute that frequently advertises how capable it is working with veterans to secure educational benefits , as well as veteran dependents. Yet has completely dropped the ball on multiple occasions. After receiving all of my information , being a dependent myself whose beneficiary was considered KIA/Disabled after august first twenty twenty three they repeatedly tried to tell me due to my age i am ineligible to receive chapter thirty five benefits. However , if your beneficiary is considered disabled or killed in action after august first twenty twenty three , there is no age out for the benefits. Meaning in theory you can still use it when you're sixty years old. The housing by far is one of the worst things things I have ever experienced in a scholastic environment. Collegiate Housing first and foremost prioritizes profit rather than the student's well being. They are charging $900 a person for a dorm shared with 4 people, you dont even have a private bedroom. Ontop of the many hidden fees and stipulations that they do not tell you about nor do they reach out with you with a representative. Emails tend to be sparse lacking in need to know information. At the time of writing this this would be my first time in florida as well as the orlando area as well as my first time attending this campus. I was very exited to travel and learn a trade ive always been interested in however. My optimism was quickly crushed by the lack of experience UTIs VA assistance department. So much so that if you told me none of their personnel were veterans I would believe you. Even if I were to be accepted and have the opportunity to train and learn about a trade I am very much interested in i would never recommend this institute two friends, family or even acquaintances due to how needlessly stressful, they make the application process for veterans/dependent benefits. read more

I was WRONGFULLY TERMINATED from the diesel program for refusing to be the victim of an overly aggressive & extremely disrespectful instructor. This instructor blatantly violated multiple rules within the UTI employee code of conduct. This organization claims to have a zero tolerance policy against this kind of behavior, yet they had an extreme bias in favor of the instructor from the very beginning. This investigation was extremely unfair & despite any form of evidence, they kicked me to the curb. Your education experience here will vary WIDELY from class to class, as each instructor has a different level of compassion. Some of them are good, many of them just simply do not care about teaching. They are just tired mechanics who took a job "teaching" to get out of the Florida heat & into a cushy desk job in an air conditioned building. There is very little accountability within the school's faculty, to the point where the administration will be aware of obvious problems with their employee's, but will refuse to do anything about it. The curriculum is outdated & many of their training aids are over a decade old that have been repainted more times than I have fingers on my hands. Uti Orlando To whoever may be interested to know, I would like to talk about Uti Orlando in her operating procedure. They are having instructors teach multiple classes at the exact same time. They are passing students just to pass him with the term. What can we do to help them along, I have seen students with high failure rate pass classes and instructors are told we have a business to run. Let's get them through. This is both unethical and should be unacceptable for Uti staff and alumni students are not held accountable for their actions or their work students are also allowed to complete at homework in the classrooms, and this is overlooked and brushed under the rug by upper management. The student population at Uti Orlando has full control of the facility the inmates run the prison instructors that are not trained or certified for the classes are teaching classes instructors, and I've never even seen the classes or teaching classes, they will put anybody in the classroom to just facilitate the business. This needs to be looked at in great detail. we as instructors have heard all too often the phrase we have a business to run they treat the staff poorly and with disregard for their family. Life or home needs. The goal is pastor student that's the only goal, pastor student collect the money, Uti Orlando has turned into nothing more than a diploma mill. Im enrolled at this school and have been since September. And all I can say is wow. They amount of changing rules, unnecessarily failing students for not answering 1 discussion question on time (the instructors never respond either) and a lot of teachers could care less about the students learning. I've had 3 classes so far that the instructor does not show us how to do anything. They say watch the videos online and come do it, with no demonstrations in person. It gets pretty confusing only watching 1 video on it and being told to check this and that without a real, in person demonstration, like what most of the people at the school come for. We can all watch YouTube videos on this and not pay 40k. All of the ads I see online are a complete lie. This school is not worth dumping 40+k into on top of not working with students during COVID. If you get COVID during your enrollment you most likely fail the class. Honestly not worth all of the stress that they put on all the students. Really looking forward to starting my life after or if a graduate from here and never stepping foot onto a campus again. At least the Orlando campus. Oh yeah, if you fail a class you have to pay an additional 1,500 to retake the class. Honestly there's tons of tech schools that will probably allow you to get more hands on experience for WAY LESS OF A COST and won't fail fail you over dumb things. All the online work is completely ridiculous, spend hours on IOLS then, also watch countless hours worth of videos. The school also highly recommends you work during your enrollment and holy shit. I don't see how that would ever be possible and keep up with all the work they give you with a job. I've only taken "easy classes" so far and let me tell you they have 10+ hours of IOLS alone. I graduated from both marine and the diesel courses 5 years ago and I still have no job. I do have plenty of depression and dept and I have been homeless thanks to this place. Terrible school, with some teachers that don't put much effort at all into their teachings. I'm only giving two stars because there have been a few select teachers that have genuinely cared, and that I learned ALOT from and made class fun, exciting and engaging. I'm looking at Jeff Herman, Mr. Smiley (especially), David poppo, and Rawlie Kisoon. Thank you for caring about my education. The employment department is also AMAZING and I love how much effort the man behind it put into finding us kids a job. Really helped me find a job and I can't thank him enough. I can't say the same for some of my other classes, however.. I took a power and performance 1 class. Wow, that sounds exciting! You wanna know what I did? Measure engine internals and learned how to degree a camshaft. That's it. Basically the same shit I did intro to engines except the degreeing part. I was able to leave 2 hours early EVERY day. On top of that... 25 hours of IOLs?? Not including videos? You'd think a class like this would be fun, but nope. Mostly online bullshit. If you're an aspiring mechanic, then do NOT waste your time... and 35k~ in tuition. I'm quitting halfway through and cutting my losses early, thank god. After being here for six months I can attest to the fact that with the INSANE amount of money this school charges you, it is not worth it. "Three" hour classes with a heinous amount of online homework that makes me want to quit even more. (I say "three" because you usually spend 1-2 hours doing a "lab" that's just instructions on how to disassemble something, and even worse, sometimes you're just copying and pasting something from all data! How is that experience???) I can understand some of the online work as a mechanic you need to understand how some of this stuff works. But the amount was just too much. WAY too much online homework, and less in hands training and less teaching by instructors. You'll be spending more time behind a computer and less time behind an engine or transmission. This makes ZERO sense for a trade job like this. You think housing is covered with this insane tuition cost? NOPE! Now, you're forced to work a job while being at school and hopefully you can land a job with a mechanic shops that's willing to take you with zero experience. Otherwise you're fucked. I'm very blessed to have a father that's willing to pay for my tuition and he'll be sad to hear that I'm quitting, but also happy to have me home. I'll be continuing my education somewhere else with a much more modest tuition and hopefully a place that won't give me 20+ hours of online homework each class. If you have a course add on for example, Ford, diesel you have to pay a fee and then they try and convince you to stay in it or pick up another course. Terrible administration, terrible student services, terrible financial aid, terrible half-assed online curriculum and worn out, broken, or missing training aids for your $50,000 "hands-on training" that you learn more from watching a youtube video than trying to work all the shitty equipment provided. The contract states that multimeter, lab fees, etc. included in your tuition but in actuality they try to make you pay it in person on your orientation day and then when you refuse and show them the contract where it says all those things are supposed to be included, they gaslight you and tell you that you misunderstood the contract and that even though it clearly says it, it must be a mistake. Breach of contract, instructors with egos taunting, bullying, threatening, and mocking students is all acceptable behavior but as soon as the student stands up for themselves the instructors run to the education managers and get the student punished before the student can tell their side of the story. As an employee there it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had . Big career mistake.

If it were possible to give this school a ZERO rating it would be a ZERO! This organization is a complete rip off. They have no problem getting you enrolled and taking your money (especially veterans) however, once you're enrolled and they have your money you are on your own. I've called the school dozens of times to set up an appointment (campus policy) and can't get anyone to answer the phones. I've literally called dozens and dozens of times, I've left voicemail after voicemail with no response. I finally threw enough of a fit and got "Mike" on the phone from the Orlando campus. He didn't want to hear any of it and just asked me if I had any questions for him. I've expressed these concerns with a couple different instructors 2 of which told me the students were the problem and it was like babysitting children all day. One instructor proceeded to tell me I was paying 40 cent per minute to be on campus. He then looked at my name tag and seen I'm a veteran and stated "OH YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE GUYS, YOU NEED TO GET OUT AND STAY OUT OF MY POCKETS" I'm assuming because of my GI BILL (The schools policy and without asking puts your military branch on your name tag) This school is highly highly unprofessional and is more interested in taking students money and NOT ensuring their students are taken care of. They pretend like they are on it however, that's all a made up cover! Do yourself a favor and look around at other schools first. I would NOT recommend. I will certainly be going to corporate next and leaving a derogatory remark on the VA website also. read more

I'm writing this review today to share my experience with UTI. I was catfished in by the "amazing" opportunities and promised hands on training but due to covid I believe this education is not worth the money anymore majority of your mechanical learning is done online with no lecture time in the classroom. But during in class hours all you do is review for tests and do "labs" in which the teacher hands you a paper with a list of instructions and it's carte Blanche from there. It's a really hard system if your trying to work a full time job to support yourself and to go home and be eager about sitting on a computer for 3 hours just getting one IOL done. I've spoke to my previous roommates who attended this school pre covid and they say it's sad how far the school has slipped and the amount of money isn't equal to the education they are receiving and I feel the same way read more
