Great Institution to attend! The staff and instructors are helpful and care about the students success in their programs.

This school clearly needs a new and honest review, RUN they just want to trick as many people as they can into signing up (coming from a graduate as of this year going for my AS in the same field at the Sanford campus only cause I already finished at the Orlando campus) , The whole entire school is a joke from the admin too the trades they were built on , Hvac is the biggest program and is treated like you don't exist they put you in separate building from the main one that's run down the tools they give you are cheap as hell compared to the other trades and will break on first use (seen it happen more then I could count) , 5out of my 10 months there were spent trying to teach myself because they just higher any instructor they can , Jose Rivera being one of them I got reenrolled in his class 3 months straight the teacher barely spoke English admitted several times he did not know much and was thankful for Dan and Hightower because they were helping him learn along the way . I write this review not for the sole purpose of bashing but to genuinely warn anyone who wanting to go to a school that will look out for you like they say they will. I seen feuds happen between teachers and admin about catering to basic needs to the students , I've seen teachers get fired and steal out the same lab (that we barely had things in already) Keep in mind I completed my program even though they tried to screw me in my last month trying to make me fail the last class due to attendance (that I had a 91% in at the end of the class) all because they knowingly force everyone too do a tedious career prep class that should be offered day 1 yet it's the #1 class that over 80%!! Of students end up not finishing because it's the most tedious time consuming stuff that won't apply to your field or anything you've done your whole time enrolled it's just a class they throw in there so the school can get "extra money" even though everyone's aware of it's uselessness from the mouth of their financial aid director. A big shout out to Dan Bacarri and Gerald Hightower if it weren't for them that school wouldn't be worth a damn. Stefani the education director is the most useless person ever she's nothing but a face for show any real issues you have she will never have a solution too an always trying to send you too someone else to fix the issue. All in all STAY FAR AWAY FROM STC unless you're keen on wasting your time and money. I just hope this review saves a poor soul for signing them selves up for this debt hole of a school. read more

One of the best technical collage that you can apply! I'm a ex alumni of STC and I don't regret it. Have really good teachers that help you during your process. Ms.G she's the best teacher that I had for my classes of the vet assistant program. She's always willing to help and practices with you!! If your looking for short courses I highly recommend STC no doubt! read more

This is my story I moved to America from Egypt in 2015. I was struggling to find employment and maintain my household. I received a call from Southern Technical College. Upon speaking to the representative, I was ensured that if I took the course for Medical Assistant program, they would help me to a find better career path of employment opportunities. I was very excited to start a new venture in my life. At the beginning, going to school was a challenge for me, because of my understanding English terms. However difficult I received what seemed like great support from all my instructors, and old management team. Towards the end of the last term, while preparing for my internship, I received a call from the new president Dr. M, instructing me to come to her office. Once I got to her office, I was quickly informed I would not be able to continue the last term. She also told me I could not come back to the school anymore, because my grade point average was not enough to graduate. She has stopped me from pursuing my dream. I was NEVER told my GPA was less than the college expectations, and would not be not make it through. I have kept a steady grade mark and attendance. To be told the last 15 days from graduation that I wouldn't be receiving my certificate, feels like a slap in the face. To work so hard, to push myself and feel like I was taken advantage of is a complete disappointment. Where was all of this one year ago? Even in middle of the semester? I thought this was a good choice for me and my family. To wake up each day for a year, and will myself to finish, to accomplish this goal. I am not happy with how I was handled. Thank you for destroying my hopes and dream of a career that I would be happy to have grown in. If you are looking to get into a trade, please DO NOT consider this school. No one knows what they're talking about, different departments tell you different things, they try to make you pay their tuition even if they don't have a class for you that month. They lied about their welding certificate being nationally recognized, and it took call after to call to convince them to actually give the certificate after completing the program. Also lied and said A.A. credits would transfer over, and then jumped through hoops to get them to actually mean that. Classes weren't offered every month and so there would be whole months where there was no instruction, just extending the completion time. Trades and vocational educations are cool, but not from this dump of an institution who take advantage of paying individuals who want to better their lives. read more

I went to this school the Brandon campus because I needed to be able to have a career for a better life for my family I just got out of bad stupid situations and and needed something to help me fly straight I didn't miss hardly any days got a's and b's was supposed to start on externship in May the lady who handles externship for the Brandon campus fucked me over big time by taking her sweet time 2 find me a site that was too far away for me 2 travel. I explained to her the vehicle issues I was having and she promised me a site closer to my house, I went n found my own site willing 2 accept me as they do the students from the aburndale campus only to be told last minute it would take 2 long for that site I would have to dis enroll n re enroll at aburndale. Well now iam dis enrolled and they want 2 say I owe them 9,000 when I was on student aid 2 began with n 9,000 for what!? To waste 10 months of my life n re enroll at a reputable school.. It truly upsets me I have 2 give them 1 star if it was up to me it wud be zilch read more

This is nothing more than a predatory school. They are going to take your money and leave you with nothing. The Orlando campus doesn't have enough instructors for the Welding Tech "degree" program, and hasn't had enough instructors for about a year or so. They syllabus is nowhere close to what you're going to learn. You'll take the same class a couple times, but the course title will change. You'll wait in line for tools and equipment (1 band saw, 1 track torch, 1 plasma cutter) and will often go days or even up to a week waiting for stock to come in so you can have something to even weld on. You can honestly just walk into a shop as a helper and get better training during your breaks. You do not need this school to get a welding job!!! Now, if you have around 30K you need to spend and still have nothing to show for it, I'd say this is the place for you. read more

Southern Technical College its a good college , yes it's very different very fast phase for Medical Assistant . If you have any questions they answer you also they can tell you more about their own experiences. One of the good teachers that I had was Mrs. Perry and Mrs.Montgomerry and I'm very lucky to said that I had a great teachers doing hands on skills and more. They were always there no matter what when you need too learn something. When you don't understand any subject or something in specific teacher's are there. This environment of education you can see a little of everything mothers trying their best working plus studying to have a better future for their kids and for them too. Also young people trying to finish school also have a great future just like I did. Vinicia as a externship coordinator I want to thanks her because she gave me the opportunity to do my externship at a good office and trying to find whatever she can so I can work as a MA. STC have a great staff just like Jessica , Jennifer , Julio and MORE . They always listen and worry about you. What matters is to try your best and show them that YOU CAN DO IT and have a good communication with the staff.
