I was able to set up my initially appointment the same week, which I thought was great! When I arrived, Kevin was a little backed up, but he made sure to let me know that so I was prepared. The place is clean and quaint, has a large waiting area, and several treatment rooms. When I finally got in the room with Kevin, we went over all the details of my visit and he made sure to ask all the pertinent questions and checked my joints, etc. to help him help me more effectively. Once he started treatment, he was very thorough and quick compared to other places I've been. He did explain what he was doing and also how he would let me rest while the needles did their work, but would check on me regularly. I always get so relaxed during treatment, and this time was no different. I was able to get a small nap in and felt so comfortable. At the end, he followed up with a ointment and quick massage, which is typical. He was a little rougher with that than I'm used to, but wasn't uncomfortable. A great experience, and have my next session booked as I will most likely need several for my issue and will continue treatment regularly for general purpose after. Look forward to returning!

I would give a negative rating if I was able to do so. My insurance company gave me a list of…read morepossible acupuncture doctors. This office could see me the soonest. Since I was in extreme pain, I was happy to go to this doctor. At the door, they had me sign the usual form with the pen pad that I would pay for what my insurance did not cover. Standard, right? I was put in the room and Dr Lisa comes in later. She tells me in order to see me, there is an exa charge of $85 that is not covered by insurance. Why would it not be covered by insurance? Any other exam IS covered by insurance. But I was there and in the room and in pain!!! I should have walked out then. It's amazing to me that I was never told about the fee while booking the appointment!!!! Then Dr said I needed the device to heal for $35 additional dollars! What??? Also it was so painful which has never happened before with acupuncture. I was left alone in room for a long time while she visited other patients. I will NEVER go back and I did put in a complaint with the insurance company. The office told the insurance company that I agreed to pay. Yes I did agree to pay my copay which was stated on the phone while making the appointment. Buyer beware. Do not go to this practice. It's all about the $$$$$. They could care less if you are helped. Thank you for reading.

Ashlyn is a gem in the hard to navigate world of non-traditional medicine. Thousands of…read moreacupuncturists. How do you choose one? Yelp to the rescue! I'm glad I found Ashlyn on here because acupuncture with her has been a fantastic experience. Since going in for treatment, I've felt less stressed, anxious and have more energy to give. I originally went in for some knee / neck injuries, but was also curious to see the effects of acupuncture on anxiety and stress. There's definitely more to her than the treatment itself. Her compassion radiates and she looks at the whole picture (there's a reason your first appointment with her is 90 minutes long and there are no needles used) to give you suggestions for overall health and wellness. I've cut down on coffee significantly, per her suggestion...and that in itself has been a small (but noticeable) change. The first needle treatment we did was a 'cleansing' of sorts, to release the bad 'mojo.' I came into it with an open mind, but knowing that I could truly only measure its effects with how I felt after. The session itself was pretty intense. Lots of sweating -- somewhat painful (but not overwhelmingly so), but I'll tell you that after it, I felt a whole lot of tension leave my body and felt a sense of clarity and happiness. If it was placebo, I'll gladly pay to experience it again. Ashlyn is not cheap, but that's because she spends the entire session with you. Other acupuncturists will often simply stick needles in you and then leave the room, but not her. She simply puts the needle in until the point is stimulated, then withdraws it immediately. It's different than my previous experience, but it works. She also uses matcha quite often to stimulate points before using a needle. I still have ongoing sessions with her, but after a few (the second session where we actually did needle work was more subtle than the first one, but still awesome)...I'm convinced. I'll gladly recommend her to anyone. If you're looking for a phenomenal acupuncturist, stop looking.

A true healer. I went to Ashlyn after I got nerve damage in my arm. My doctor's office had told me…read morethat I would need an archaic and painful procedure, so I decided to try acupuncture first. In one visit, Ashlyn made the pain go away. Based on that experience, I decided to see Ashlyn regularly with my general health concerns. My asthma has never been better and she even helped alleviate some of my morning sickness. If you have gone to acupuncture before, you have probably not been to an acupuncturist like Ashlyn. I used to go a lot when I lived in California, but I had never been to someone who does 5-element acupuncture. Appointments tend to take a bit longer (especially the first one) and she doesn't actually leave the needles in. She does this thing where she puts the needle in until you feel a twinge (I am sure there is some technical name for this) and then takes it out. It may be disconcerting the first time, but I can't argue with the results.
