I've been coming here for years, since they were at their previous location and absolutely love the quality of the seafood. It's wholesale prices and super fresh. My go to's are usually oysters, sushi grade salmon and tuna. You have to call in 24 hours before to place your order and need to ask what they have (items are seasonal). I do wish there was a pricing list readily available, but understand that their items change too frequently. Natalia is usually the one who answers and is great at making recommendations. Pick up is quick and easy.

We Grilled The Marinated Branzino. Best tasting flaky fish!

The space itself is really cute and thoughtfully designed, with a lovely aesthetic that makes you want to stay. They also have a speakeasy in the back that requires a reservation and offers a set menu. I have not gone yet, but it looks incredible and is definitely on my list. The owner is incredibly sweet, and her son is the chef. You can really feel the care and pride they put into the food, and it shows in every bite. I love the variety they offer as a deli, and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. On top of that, the value is unbeatable. There's also fresh seafood for purchase by the pound. The last time I was here I bought the freshest Prince Edward Island mussels for just $10/lb. You hear that, overpriced McCall's? You could also order the succulent lobster roll at $35 (worth every penny) but we come for Nori Nights, every Thursday to Saturday, with two seatings a night to enjoy moreish handrolls with luxurious fillings like caviar and sea urchin. The ambience of the "hidden" restaurant is inviting and lush, with vintage charm and whimsy, like a posh speakeasy. We were early for our reservation and Leriza, the lovely owner allowed us to look around and take pictures. We will be back and can recommend this place to seafood lovers and home cooks alike. When I opened the fish at home, I discovered what appears to be visible parasites inside the body cavity. Here is the most disturbing part: when I was at the store, the employees strongly insisted that I take advantage of their FREE fish cleaning service. They repeatedly told me: "No, we don't sell it uncleaned, no we don't sell it uncleaned" -- pushing the free cleaning on me. Now I understand why. The free cleaning service removes the guts -- and with them, the visible parasites -- so customers cannot see the true condition of the fish before purchasing. This is deliberately concealing a food safety issue from consumers. I am filing complaints with the Health Department and BBB. I am attaching photos as evidence. Please be cautious and ALWAYS inspect your fish before letting them clean it. Do not let them clean it before you see inside. This is a serious public health concern.

But did you realize that 3 years ago, they (Leriza and Andy) decided to open their normally wholesale-only doors to the public? I didn't until I was browsing their tiny FB page and noticed I had missed their announcement and promptly drove over to check it out. Behold, the bountiful offerings of the sea normally requiring a dicey (and someone treacherous) drive to DTLA down on 6th and Stanford to visit the wholesale fish mongers is no longer needed. Sitting up in NoHo on Burbank Blvd is this treasure chest for seafood lovers. They did some remodeling of the front office and made room for a retail service area to allow regular you and me to come in and pick up what we would like/need/lust after in regular cash-and-carry fashion. Mind you, this isn't a TJ's with little fillets individually packed in plastic - it's a real wholesaler with both whole fishes and various trade forms of fillets, nuggets and even the odds and sots needed for Asian recipes (like collars and bellies.... Yummmm) At last visit, he was still working on accepting credit cards, but that's coming soon. Meanwhile it's cash and grab a plastic bag by the pound of whatever it is that suits you. Note the hours, they're business-friendly, not for "oh what's tonight for dinner" friendly. You can call ahead and have your order packaged and ready-to-go without a wait, or browse and make up your list on-site based upon what's fresh and new that day. Just be ready with the whole list at once, rather than browse and can you add this? Um, on second thought, maybe that. You'll be buying wholesale, at retail quantity, and yes you'll be glad you did because unlike retail fish, these don't sit a day waiting to be put out the next, then sitting for a day while you get around to picking up the package, and then sitting in your fridge for another day figuring out what to do with what you just bought. Browse the website for the general inventory - prices are always market-based, so yes, they're around Costco, but no, not every single day will the price be the same. Go for it!

Service was satisfactory. Fish was very fresh and tasty. I would come again to try the restaurant and their other fish products I missed. So this place is a choose your own adventure (handrolls, fish shop, cafe), built out in this tetris sort of layout. Upon entry you have some high chair seating and the cafe straight to the back. Along the other side is some window seating followed with the fish shop on against the last wall. Overall its pretty small so seating is limited. So much so I was indirectly informed to move from the window seating after sitting there with my bev and bread because that was for the handroll section. So I promptly went outside. Ordered: Iced Chai Latte: 5/5 - Excellent Chai. Best I've had in a minute Banana Bread: 5/5 - Recommended to me by the server. Sigh, reminded me of those good ol covid days. Very good banana bread. BBQ Fish: 4/5 So fun fact - on sundays whatever you buy from the fish shop they'll bbq it for you, pretty cool right? While the prices are a little steep, most of it is by weight so my selected fish actually was only $6. When we do the bbq option you get a little slaw to go with it. I asked the guy to give me a relatively affordable but good option and now I don't remember what it was I know. But it WAS good. It was light, a little citrusy, and surprisingly meaty? If I closed my eyes and did a blind test you could've had me fooled for red meat. If you don't like bones and all I would suggest something else. Now I have to say as soon as I ordered that one of the girls who worked there was on her off day and ordered a salmon burger, and apparently that's off the menu and isn't every week! I felt bamboozled, the fish guy did me wrong haha. With that said, if you can be here for that it seems well worth it, the grill man was mostly cooking patties and I asked one party how was it and they said it was delicious, really packed too, that burger was thick! Now there is some outdoor seating (3) but between the handrolls in the back and the bbq in the front it could be hard to find a place to sit. I got there around 12 Sunday and a few things I wanted were already sold out so I'd say make it earlier or order ahead if you can. All in all this place has been on my list for a few years now and I'm glad I finally went. I enjoyed what I experienced so far but I'm willing to go back to get the full nine yards.
