What a lovely little shop/restaurant in the middle of boring ol' NoHo…read more The storefront reminds me of a proper craft shop in England and I could get lost for hours browsing the market area that's filled with gourmet items from Italy, France, Spain. There's also fresh seafood for purchase by the pound. The last time I was here I bought the freshest Prince Edward Island mussels for just $10/lb. You hear that, overpriced McCall's? You could also order the succulent lobster roll at $35 (worth every penny) but we come for Nori Nights, every Thursday to Saturday, with two seatings a night to enjoy moreish handrolls with luxurious fillings like caviar and sea urchin. The ambience of the "hidden" restaurant is inviting and lush, with vintage charm and whimsy, like a posh speakeasy. We were early for our reservation and Leriza, the lovely owner allowed us to look around and take pictures. We will be back and can recommend this place to seafood lovers and home cooks alike. Go on, treat yourself. Life's short. You deserve it.

The space itself is really cute and thoughtfully designed, with a lovely aesthetic that makes you want to stay. They also have a speakeasy in the back that requires a reservation and offers a set menu. I have not gone yet, but it looks incredible and is definitely on my list. The owner is incredibly sweet, and her son is the chef. You can really feel the care and pride they put into the food, and it shows in every bite. I love the variety they offer as a deli, and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. On top of that, the value is unbeatable. You are getting two incredible lobster rolls for the price you would normally pay for one elsewhere. I can absolutely see myself coming back more and more, and I cannot wait to try more items on the menu.

Good vibes all around, Also check out their social media! Usually I get the Korean bowl and a torta but today I got the Milano and pastrami as well as Korean bowl and it was delicious, it's REAL FOOD and is worth it especially when a lot of place's don't even have real food like this. I'd give more stars if I could and truly wishing the best for Jack and Papa's meat and seafood company! Definitely come here for any butcher needs or some real food!

Between a ciabatta loaf, it is different and non-traditional. It tastes fatty and hearty as Pastrami should be. It is evenly seasoned and paired with a modern twist; they call their pepper relish. Portioned as a single serving, it is not your deli-sized sandwich like it should be. Other sandwiches and savory items are equally creative and of good quality. There is no doubt that there is great-tasting food here, and you can notice the attention to detail. Unfortunately, you will spend a premium here. Feeling the pinch is as lacking as the need for a nice, fluffy Rye with a crispy crust.

Upon entering there are shopping carts and baskets. Take a rolling one (trust me) and get ready for a wonderful store filled with food stuffs that will make you swoon. The neatly stacked shelves are filled with things like chocolate, jam, pasta, tinned seafood, chips, and pasta are all neatly organized. Tags indicating country of origin (largely from Europe) are helpful. There are refrigerators full of charcuterie, cheese, and French butter. Freezers have ready to bake breads and pastries from a bakery in Canada. It's actually quite overwhelming (in a very good way), if you don't know what you need. You'll definitely see lots of things you want. The people that work here seem happy and are very helpful. When we were looking at chips, one of the employees shared his favorites. The best part of the visit was meeting the owner. He was enthusiastic and extremely informative! He told us that everything in the store was sampled and scrutinized for taste and quality. He knew everything about the products and why they were sourced. He helped me find a delicious arbequina olive oil from Italy and tins of sardines packed it butter. Swoon. By the end of our visit my basket was full! While the items here are pricey I truly think that the quality is worth it. Parking is plentiful and conveniently located just outside. The store is clean and well organized. Bring your own reusable shopping bags because you'll need it for all the wonderful goodies. Definitely returning! Pure electricity that took my friggin' breath away. I was overwhelmed as I stumbled around with my kid who also was in awe. The staff are fantastic. Eric is a master Jedi and was so thoughtful, energetic, detailed and soooooo fun with his descriptions, guidance and suggestions. I am was so so happy to hear that that this place is extending its square footage as well. (Thank you Eric for sharing and showing us the new space!). I don't know what to say. You just have to go. Imagine yourself in some great food adventure and you enter a vast other wordly cathedral filled with gems and golden treasure. That's Epicurus Gourmet. I've been in LA for well over three decades and its rare that I am frozen in my footsteps when walking into a new spot - but this place did it. A vast Disneyland of tinned fish, butters, pastas, meats, chocolate, spices, so so much more. Honestly, for anyone passionate about food and cooking, it may make you cry visiting this spot. Perfection. Go. Many thanks to Eric and the entire staff for making our first visit with you wildly memorable and deeply enjoyable. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Soooooooooo glad you are nearby!
