Universal Dentistry is lacking in quality work. I have an implant that was loose so I unscrewed it. Doctor rescheduled my appointment twice and now wants to replace the abutment and the cap which was in good condition until Michael drilled down on it and cracked it. All he needed to do was to rescrew the abutment and the cap back in the socket with the tools that he has. Instead he wants me to invest another $2500 to get a new abutment and cap. Unbelievable. Worst decision of my life. I went to North Wales location. Six years later and many, many visits my dentures still don't fit or look good. First day they left me sitting in the waiting room bleeding til my wife picked me up to go see a real dentist because their dentist couldn't pull out a tooth(she was too tired. This review is for the RACISTS at the Willow Grove location: Months ago, my mother met with a dentist to discuss her options for dentures and extractions versus veneers. Together they decided on dentures for around $6,000.00 and she started making payments towards that procedure. My mother is a mixed, very light black woman. A few days before her next meeting with the doctor, my mother became concerned with COVID-19 as she is severely immunocompromised and is trying to be safe. She called outside of the 72hr window to discuss rescheduling her appointment. The SECRETARY(later self-identified as an "office manager") pressured her into coming in anyways, repeatedly spoke over my mother's concerns over the phone, and continuously berated her for "not keeping her original, agreed upon appointment." In the end, the RECEPTIONIST told my mom she would need to come in anyways because they had a new doctor who needed to review her case to see if the treatment plan was appropriate. My mom, feeling defeated/exhausted, agreed to come in especially since she was concerned that her treatment plan (that she had already started paying off) might change. When my mom went in the new doctor and her assistant were pushy, communicated poorly, and refused to explain to my mom how her treatment costs were going to more than DOUBLE IN COSTS. English is not my mom's first language and so she kept asking if they could further explain the complex medical jargon so that the new cost made sense to her. They became indignant, rude, and refused to explain any further. As a result, my mom thanked them for their time and said she wanted to try out a different office--as these new, last minute prices were out of her budget completely. The doctor agreed and sent her to the front desk to collect paperwork and a refund for previous checks she had already sent. The RECEPTIONIST immediately began chastising my mom for leaving and started accusing her of "refusing to understand what the dentist was saying" regarding her treatment. My mom calmly requested that she get her paperwork and refund and for the RECEPTIONIST to stop discussing her medical info out loud where other patients could hear. My mom also politely said she would prefer if the receptionist stuck to providing her administrative info and let the dentist do the other stuff. At this point the receptionist became irate, accused my mom of "disturbing HER practice", and refused to give my mom her money/medical documents. She then instructed my mom to leave which my mom (again, calmly) said she would once she got her stuff. My mom sat down in the waiting room to wait. This apparently enraged the receptionist who then CALLED THE COPS ON MY MOM!!!!!! For...nothing... The cops helped my mom get her paperwork and refund as well as told the receptionist that my mom has rights to her medical records and it should not be withheld. The receptionist still has yet to give my mom all of her medical documents. Not to mention--this could've had a very different ending. This is unacceptable from the medical providers in the community and I would like some accountability as well as my my mother's FULL FILE! This racist, bigoted crap ends now. read more

AMY or ROB tell me very rudely we ll issue when it needs to be. Mostly they don't pickup my ph or put me on a long hold. I would not recommend Universal Dentistry Turnersville to my worst ememy! My tooth broke so I went there because it was so close to my home and my dentist was retiring. What an awful mistake. first of all you have to pay up front even though I have dental insurance. 384.00 they did X-ray of my whole mouth which I didn't need. I just needed the tooth that was broken. The dentist said he would need to cut it because it would break apart. To make a really long story short. I went in to get it removed. My appointment was at 3:30, they close at 5. They had a really busy day a lot of emergencies. He numbed me at about 4:15. FIVE shots of novicane. The tooth was in the left side of my mouth. I was numb all the way to 1/2 the right side of my mouth, the roof was numb and I had to sit up because half my throat was numb and I felt like I couldn't swallow. Then the dentist looked at the X-rays and decided that he wanted me to have antibiotics or I could go to an oral surgeon. WTF I was already numb as hell and he wasn't going to pull it out! It was close to closing time. I as so angry if I would have said anything I felt it would have gone badly. It took 6 1/2 hours for the novicane to wear off. then my gums were throbbing I had to take Tylenol. When I woke up the next day you couldn't touch the left side of my face without it hurting. That lasted for about three days. I couldnt yawn because the left part of my mouth hurt. In all my years I never had an experience like this. Just to let you know I had the tooth removed by the dentist who took over my retired dentists practice. He gave me two shots of novicane and in less then two minutes it was out! The whole remaining tooth. No pain no problem. read more

I came to universal in November 2021for to upper bridges the cost 10800 bucks. The dentist that put them in was an ahole he just intered the room and just jam the teeth in my mouth and while leaving the room said they are not suppose to look like a picket fence.to days letter at a party one of the teeth fell out I return to there office and had that tooth put back in other to days later another tooth fell out so I return to there office again. I'm told to came back on February 1 2022 to replace the to that fell out with a bridge my appointment is at 8am I drive 1hour to there office and am told the dentist is having car problems and can't make it in till 11 so am setting here mis writing this.please do not go to this shit hole read more

There is a reason why they are inexpensive. You get what you pay for. Took over 5 months to get upper dentures due to mistakes. Still not happy, because denture rocks. I was told by them if I spent more money (almost $2,000) for bottom partial it would fix that, which didn't make sense since your teeth don't touch when biting into something. I'm sure it would help with chewing, but not biting. I would have rather them fix the top before spending more money but they said top was fine (I disagree). If they would have done an reline of the top instead of telling me I need the bottom 1st, spending more money I would have worked with them. I'll probably get implants elsewhere read more

Only able to judge from the horrible experience from the one individual from the reception area, the "First impression " area. The staff member I dealt with was assuming, insulting and aggressive. I've used Universal Dentistry several times and they have done excellent work each time. I see all the negative reviews but it's not my experience. I also take responsibility for my own medical and dental care by standing up and speaking up. Before any work is done I question the dentist specifically as to his goals for me and how much it will cost totally. After the initial consultation I compare the price with other dentists. And then I usually go to Universal. They've done implants, made me a partial denture and some other basic dental care. All their work has been perfect for me and the price has been reasonable. As with any Dr. Dentist you should do your own research and make your own decision but as for me I've had nothing but great success with Universal dentistry. read more

My grandson had an asthma attack and I considered it an emergency. I called to reschedule the appointment. I was told they would not waive the 75 dollar cancellation fee. My implant is already paid for or I would go elsewhere . They over charge. My suggestion is get a savings dental plan and go elsewhere where one is treated kindly in a true emergency. read more

This is the worst dentist Ive ever been to. I went there to have a denture replaced that I loss on a trip. I was charged 600.00 for a single tooth denture that they did not measure correctly and presented me with a flipper that is unreasonably smaller than its counter tooth. Its like a Mr. Potato Head tooth, you cant take pride in your work and present someone with something like this And then when I expressed that I didnt like it, the assistant told me that it is a temporary fix anyway. The reason I am giving this business such a low rating is NOT because of the staff! The staff is very pleasant and accommodating & the only reason I gave 2 stars. My reason for this low rating is their deceptive advertising practices. Having seen their commercial multiple times in 30 minutes, I took my Mom there to see about getting one of her denture plates replaced. They did the classic "bait & switch!" "From $299" actually means $299 is for temporary dentures if someone has just had all their teeth pulled for permanent dentures. There is NO price point between that and $950 for a single plate/$1675 for both!! And the entire amount is due up front, with the only available financing/installment plan through a loan application. The doctors and their assistants explain each of the procedures prior to the work, and always make their patients feel at ease. Went there several years ago and dentist missed cavities and attempted a root canal and couldnt finish it and sent me to a specialist witch cost me another $1000 and was told the dentist created a 4th canal and he couldnt fix it, so lost the tooth. Most people probably go there to save money. So didnt go there for years. Then decided to go back since there is a different dentist there, they had a fill in for the original Dentist, seemed fine, got another opion from outside Dentist, there were 2 cavities missed and 2 caps were not put on correctly, they didnt cover the teeth and would have decayed, so they are re doing them. Also got fitted for a partial, was told it was $1000. Finally got fitted for it, and the partial has a silver hook on each side that you see when you smile, looks hidious, she says you can get the one that looks more natural, but that will be another $300. I was never told there are 2 kinds of partials, 1 that looks natural and 1 that looks hidious, with 2 prices. They advertise that they have full disclosure of pricing. No they dont. I would like my money back for false advertising. Be careful if you go there, you should get 2nd opinion of their services. read more

Universal Dentistry is a scam!! They really don't care about their patients. It's all about the money and selling services to them. My 94 year old mother had her teeth extracted a few months back and received temporary dentures. The temporary dentures had to be adjusted at least 20 times. When she told them that she is having trouble with her denture, they suggested that she get implants and would work out a payment plan for her! I can't image presenting this to a 94 year old woman! This past Tuesday she finally received her full set of permanent dentures; the assistant said if she's experiencing pain to call and come back and they will adjust the dentures for her by Friday. She called yesterday and they said "sorry we cannot fit you in until a week later!" I just called on her behalf and I got the same old story that they cannot see her, meanwhile she's not eating as she's in pain! They suggested that she wash her mouth out with warm water and salt!! Any other dentist would accommodate their patient! They only care about how many patients they can scam! Please don't use this place and find a reputable dentist who cares for his/her patient and not about how much they can make off the patient! read more

I am a senior citizen and I believe that Universal Dentistry is a scam; and I will demonstrate how they operate. Universal Dentistry provides a form that I filled out stating why I was there for services. I clearly stated that I was there for repair of three fillings and a cleaning. This was not done. Gregory Smith, Manager, spent quite a bit of time talking to me while I waited in the dental chair thinking that I was going to have the work that I requested done. He was very affable; he gave the impression that he was keeping me company while I waited for the dentist, Brian Guentter (about a half an hour). In hindsight, this was a sales pitch tactic). In the meantime, he said the assistant would take me for x-rays. I told him that I did not want to have x-rays, especially since it was a short time ago that I had x-rays from my regular dentist; I was concerned about too much radiation exposure. Mr. Smith said that today's x-rays are harmless. Then why do they place the radiation proof cover on people and the technician leaves the room. Mr. Smith said that no dentist would consider working on a patient without an x-ray. Thinking that they were going to do the work that I requested, I warily agreed. After the dentist examination, Mr. Smith came in and explained the work that needed to be done. Additionally, the dentist did not even notice the damaged filling in my last upper left molar, which is part of the reason that I went there. I had to show him. I told Mr. Smith that the dentist missed this. Keep in mind that the form that I filled out stated that payment is required up-front for my repairs and cleaning. Mr. Smith did not even mention the work that I requested and the reason I was there. Instead he showed me the work that they said needed to be done. I requested a copy of the description of dental work that was presented to me and total cost up-front of over $6,000 that they said I needed. They would not provide it. They wanted to do several implants, crowns and fillings. They firmly steered me away from repairing my two front teeth with dental filling which is what I wanted, saying that this would not last and I would again need to have the two teeth repaired; that I needed implants (which was very costly). I asked if I could just get crowns because that was a bit cheaper. Mr. Smith went into his sales pitch as if I was purchasing a car; starting with the most expensive work first and upon my distress of the cost, he went down a check list to lower the cost. As I looked at the description and cost and dental work needed, I became confused and overwhelmed. As we all know, dentists are expensive. Thus, that is why I tried Universal Dentistry. When I finally went to my regular dentist who I have been going to for many years, she advised me that my two front teeth could not be crowned because my teeth were too thin due to age; there is not enough tooth to place a crown. The other option would be implants, but she would need to remove some of my gum below the gum line where there is bone and this is extremely costly. My dentist did not recommend either of these options. She repaired my two front teeth with state-of-the art material and corrected the problem, which is what I wanted in the first place. And she repaired my molar. No other work was needed. The bill was $550. I did not tell her that I had gone to Universal Dentistry. I am 74 years old and I feel that I was taken advantage of by their methods of operation. Clearly, Mr. Smith's role was to pitch as much work as possible. I was so flustered that I said that I needed to think about it. I was so overwhelmed that I paid the $160. I just wanted to get out of there. As an aside, when I told my friend about the scam that Universal Dentistry played on me, she told me that her sister, who is 83 years old, went there a year ago and was talked into paying up-front over $20,000 of repair and implants. She is still going to them to finish the work and she has trouble with pain and eating after all that time. She still has stitches in her mouth. She said that she would never have agreed to this work if she knew this but she had already paid for it up-front. I ask you, why would someone 83 years old need all those implants? I believe that they took advantage of her. And they surely tried to do the same to me. Additionally, I am a highly principled woman. I will stand-up to abuse and injustice. I firmly believe that Universal Dentistry takes advantage of senior citizens. I believe that the American Civil Liberties Union will be very interested in the practices of Universal Dentistry. First let me start by saying I will never recommend ANYONE to universal dentistry not even my enemies they did not do a good job on my mouth in fact it was terrible to the point that I had to go to several dentists to get my mouth look at and they all agreed that the work that was done was borderline criminal. They compared the work as a scam, a con, a ripoff. I went to them for implants. they did not give me a choice of the color of the implants or the type or anything before working on me. They wanted the money up front all of it but i said i would give half down and the remaining at the completion of the work. When it close to the third part of the work they said to me the balance was due. The hours that they keep is better than bankers hours Monday thru Thursady , 8am to 5pm they are closed Friday Saturday Sunday. The Doctor at the Willow Grove office Dr. Anne K. does not do all the work it is passed on to the dental assistants who are not quilified to do the job correctly. When my dental implants were done they were two differant shades of color, they did not match, they were lose, two implants fell out, the dentures kept shifting around in my mouth making it impossible to eat any solid foods and they did not line up with the bite. I had to go another dentist pay money to fix the terrible job that was done. I am currently taking universal dentistry to court to get my money back and exposeing them for the scam artist they are.
